Spyware/Tracking Bugs on Runescape
I think I am going to ignore this thread from now on. Nadril is correct, you either completely ignored everything we said, or plain and simply didn't understand a word of it. Have fun chasing ghosts, and cookie monsters. Clare.

Gender Dysphoria
I agree with kelem on the matter of parents. Ultimately it's your own life and only you have to live it. This sounds very harsh but it's a hard fact. If they truly love you they will eventually accept what has happened and understand what you're going through is very hard. Changing ones sex must be an extremely difficult thing to go through, not to mention major surgery and all the social pressures. It's not to be taken lightly as I don't think anyone would go through it all for a laugh, or on a whim. The above goes the same for friends too, true friends will stick by you. If they don't, then they are not worth knowing.

Spiders!
I had a huge spider in my living room one day, and there was nobody around to get rid of it. So I did the only thing I could, I grabbed a can of wasp spray, and sprayed the darned thing until is was just a curled up white thing. Then I hoovered it up. Now I felt pretty good that I had managed to get rid of it on my own, until I talked to a friend of mine who is a doctor of biology. He told me that I had better empty the bag soon or I would be seeing it again, this is how he explained it: Pesticides such as fly spray work because flies do not have a blood stream like we do, they have little holes that connect from the outside of their bodies directly to the internal organs, this is how they get oxygen etc. so a small amount of fly spray in the air will kill em dead. Spiders on the other hand have a mechanism against things like this, they can shut down and go into suspended animation for up to 5 years, so me spraying it with that stuff hadn't hurt it one bit. It was still alive in my hoover bag waiting to reanimate. This freaks me out even more. And seeing the pics you lot posted is gonna give me knightmares. Thanks a bunch guys  Nighty Night.

Spyware/Tracking Bugs on Runescape
If you really want to go down the "I want to secure my machine" route, I would not be looking at cookies. I would be looking at blocking all active content such as: Flash (Actionscript) Java (Which you need for Runescape) javascript (mainly because of URL redirect or popups) vbscript (very nasty, if allowed and you are logged on as admin, this can do ANYTHING to your pc, better re-enable that User Account Control on Vista afterall  )

Back lit wireless keyboard.
Looks like this is what I am going to get, I just gotta wait for a cheque for my last web project to arrive, but we're having backlogs due to a postal strike at the mo, so I gotta wait :(

Spyware/Tracking Bugs on Runescape
Are you really that bothered if a website keeps a record of how many times you have visited their site? If so then your paranoia should extend to much more than that. Every time you log into Runescape a record is made of that. Everything you type in Runescape goes into a database before it is displayed on screen. How long the records are kept for I'm not sure, but I bet your bottom dollar it's quite a while. More than that though, everything you do is tracked by something or another. Every website you request has been tracked by at least 3 servers because they routed your IP packets, all that is logged. And it's no good in saying "That is an outrage" because it's how the Internet works, the net is really based on trust that your packet will get to it's destination via some route around the world, and you trust the reply to get back to you. Hopping from server to server that automatically send it via the shortest route they possibly can, and all in milliseconds! To be honest I am amazed the internet works as good as it does!

Spyware/Tracking Bugs on Runescape
Actually I don't have it mucked up at all. The session is stored on the server you got that right, but the browser places is a cookie on your pc linked the the server session. This cookie is what is sent to the server during every page of that session, this is how the server knows you're still using that session and what session variables to pick up. I could have gone into this in depth but I was trying to simplify it all. I kinda know this stuff as I run my own server and am quite adept at coding, especially PHP, PHP is my fave web scripting language. If you need any proof about the relationship between sessions and cookies, turn cookies off and see if you can use sessions, nope ya can't! Have a fun weekend all!

Back lit wireless keyboard.
Thanks for that, I will probably go down the Keysonic route. The Microsoft one requires you to have the MCE Remote sensor thing to work, and I don't really want to buy one of them too. The Logitech appears to be one of them Dock on the desk re-chargers and I want the keyboard for when I am coding in dim light on my sofa. I wonder if the logitech takes rechargeable batteries, hmm I might look into that one too.

Back lit wireless keyboard.
Okay folks, I do a lot of coding in dim light on my sofa, and I am looking for a good back lit keyboard. The keyboard is required to be the standard QWERTY with number pad. Oh and is had got to be wireless. Does anyone have something like this so far? If so would you recommend it? I was waiting for that OLED Optimus one, but I don't think that will ever see the light of day (So to speak).

Vista/Speakers/Lameness thereof.
It sounds more like the realtek manager is getting its knickers in a twist and not really Vista mucking up. Usually you can turn off the auto detection for jack ports, try looking in the settings for this option in the Realtek manager. This may also be a bug in the Realtek software, try downloading the latest driver and manager.

Spyware/Tracking Bugs on Runescape
Okay we need to clear things up, I will try and explain in simple terms how a web server works and the relationship between it and your web browser. The web server itself is running what is called a service that is constantly listening on a TCP/IP port for web page requests, this port is usually port 80. When it receives a request it sends the relevant page. So when you go to a website, your browser has sent a page request on port 80 to the server, the server then sends the requested page to your browser, quite simple really and then the server totally forgets about you. But that doesn't make sense does it? how can it forget about you when sites like this forum clearly prove that it remembers you. I'm trying not to go into depth here but the server has a mechanism for carrying variables from one page request to another, it's called sessions. When you log onto a site such as this forum, the server sends you a cookie with a unique identifier, your browser remembers this and from then on it sends that cookie with all subsequent page requests to the server. The server has variables associated with your session, and picks them up each time you request a page. Without cookies you would not be able to use this forum, and the same goes for any other website such as ebay, amazon, online banking etc.... Cookies are a way to keep things secure as the only other way to move variables from page to page would be to use forms or include them in the URL, and that would be terribly insecure. By the way, cookies can only be accessed by the server that generated them, so if you visit another website, that site cannot pick up a cookie from this forum for instance. People think "Tracking Cookies" allow different websites to track your movement through the web, this is not possible. Tracking cookies will be used to log things such as how often you visit somebodies site, and only that site will be able to access that data as it is their own cookie, and theirs alone. Do you ever click the "Remember me" option at the password screen on a website, i.e. to auto log you in each time you visit? Cookies are used for this too, the cookie will store your password and user ID on your PC, nobody else's, only yours. And the next time you visit that site, the cookie is referenced and you get logged in automatically. Like I said before, nobody else can access this cookie, only that website. And that is no more of a threat than you sending the userID and password via a log in form.

Gender Dysphoria
You soo do not have a clue what you're on about. You say someone who is 13 has no idea? Do you realise most TS's know that something is terribly wrong very early on in life, probably from the age of 5 or 6. And please don't say they have no understanding of the differences at that age, believe me they do. I could go into this deeper if you like, but from your attitude, I doubt you would want to know, or even listen.

Cruiser is right, they are only cookies, without cookies sites like this forum wouldn't work. You're being wayyy too paranoid.

Gender Dysphoria
Myself, I find people who quote the bible annoying. Anyone who lives by it word for word is lying about their life style. The bible has a message yeah, but it's not really meant to be taken literally, but more as a whole picture.

Gender Dysphoria
Believe it or not, but generally what gender you are and what your sexual preference is is not really connected. For instance, lesbians are girls and they don't want to be men. And the same for gay men, they don't feel like they are women.

What does your username mean? Why did you chose it?
Well my Tip It username is my name, but my RS username is from Doctor Who "Bad Wolf", I just spoonerised it into Wad Bolf.

I agree with this, taking anything that was not prescribed for you is extremely dangerous. The last thing you would want is to damage yourself before your life has even begun. Well this thread is about this subject and how she feels, and looks like she may be getting some advice and help too. Carry on posting I say.

Ignore/Delete this post, for some reason the forum duplicated the last post.

Gender Dysphoria
Yes but the effects of male hormones are much more severe than female hormones. i.e. facial hair, voice deepening bone density etc. Female hormones do not reverse these effects. This is why it is much harder for male to female TSs to "pass" in everyday life. Once diagnosed, the earlier they start HRT the better.

Gender Dysphoria
There is one other thing you have to consider, the longer they wait, the worse the effects the male hormones in the body will have. And no woman wants all that.

Gender Dysphoria
Er, actually I took defenders post in jest as I am sure he had intended it. That's why my post was kinda light hearted. Fight humour with humour I say! In fact, fight most things with humour, you may get killed but you end up with a lorra friends at the funeral  Edit: There is a serious side too, have you ever thought that Serephurus is going through a lot at the moment, and that she feels so much about this part of her life that it is inevitable to come out a lot. I would love to see how you would react in such a situation.

what is your mood? why? and what are you doing?
Well I am annoyed and hurt because my boss really upset me today. He's a short [wagon]-ed idiot who knows little about the job and really hates my knowledge. OK there are not many girls in computing but I pride myself in my technical expertise. Even my fellow colleagues (who are men) come to me for help when they get stuck. When I backed myself up and proved him wrong today, he got all defensive, changed the subject and yet again, had me in tears. I wanna quit that place, except the rest of the guys there are really great. Sorry, I am ranting, that is my mood.

Yes you will click this topic again as such an idiotic post has only one goal, to stir up some trouble as it was obviously incredibly pathetic, idiotic and just goes to show how backward or stoopid (yes double o is intentional) you are. By the way, I gotta tell you some facts before anyone else beats me to it: 1. The earth is really a sphere and not flat like you once thought. 2. Yes the water from that tap really was heated by technology, and not sent from the gods. 3. Contrary to what you have been told, there is life beyond your own community. 4. Yes fluffykiwis really was the cheat to The New Zealand Story on the Commadore Amiga (one of my fave games of all time except Berzerk and Spyro the dragon). Anyway, I know a lot about this subject as one of my best friends is TS. I also have a good friend who is a doctor of biology, I have soaked up soo much knowledge from him, including some icky facts about spiders (Which I really wish I didn't know). Defender2516, after you read this (Which you are now doing) I really think you should say sorry for being such an idiot. Ah, but you are chicken, that's why you said you would never click here again. I laugh at your thickyness

installing xp
Nope, sorry but you have to install XP first. Here's how: First install XP wiping all partition information and creating a partition for XP, leaving enough free space for a vista partition. After installing XP install Vista, using the free space. Vista will install it's own boot block and give you a Dual boot option screen at boot. This is the same for all MS OSs and products such as office etc. The older version should be installed before the new product.

Gender Dysphoria
Scientists have done studies of the brain and found that you can tell the gender of the person by two areas of the Hypothalamus, it's different in men and women. They have found this by slicing the brain after death and comparing them. They have done this test on transsexuals after death too and found that Male to female TS's have the same female traits in the Hypothalamus and visa verse for female to male brains. So in effect if you gave Serephurus's brain to a scientist, they would conclude this was the brain of a girl. This is also the same for TS's that have never been on HRT, so a prolonged exposure to hormones do not create this condition. So why are people born TS? Well everyone is different and there are many reasons why this happens, but the main theory probably supports an error in the fetus during the first few weeks after conception. All fetuses are female to begin with and if the baby is to be male the change happens within the first few weeks. But sometimes it doesn't go 100% to plan, not all is changed and we get errors. This is what could cause some to be born with both sex organs, or simply the wrong gendered brain. When the error can be seen physically, it's easier to accept, but when it is just the brain, you only really have the patients word for it, and in their own personal hell they have to convince psychiatrists, family, friends and the world of this. It can't be easy and unfortunately there is still a high death rate due to suicides. My heart goes out to you Serephurus, take care hun and I hope you have a fantastic life after your transition. I'm sure your parents will eventually come around.
