Why does my runescape look like this?
As already mentioned by smellysocks, it looks like it's either our of date graphics drivers or bad/out dated Java installation. Update both your graphics drivers and Java. If the fault still persists, report it to jagex.

"VirtuMonde" Adware/Virus problem
Boot off a Windows XP CD, choose the repair option which takes you to a command prompt. navigate to c:\windows\help\mui\ and rename accas.dll to accas.old by doing the following: c: cd\windows\help\mui ren accas.dll accas.old Reboot and then scan your system with Defender which should find all instances of VirtuMonde.

need help w/ something.
Well er yeah, when we re-cycle hard drives, we literally take the platters out and smash them up.

need help w/ something.
I don't want to scare you or anything but there will always be a trace of what you looked at on your hard drive, even after formatting! We have software here that can recover files from even 2 or 3 previous formats. There are tools out there to completely wipe a hard drive to military standards, one such tool is DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke), but unfortunately you will obviously have to re-install everything from scratch again. Extender (Useful tools for I.T. Technicians)
Hello all, I wrote a little tool a few months back which I thought I would share with you all. So what is it all about? Extender is intended to be used by people such as I.T Technicians who frequently have to install and run applications, service packs, tools etc. Keeping your most used installers on an external USB hard drive is much easier than carrying a load of CDs around with you. Unfortunately you are then left with searching the folders of that hard drive for the various tools and installers. Extender is a user interface for launching applications. Simply place the installers in folders within the Extender folder, launch Extender and create a link using the interface. Here's the Link And here's a screen shot of the interface: Have fun, Clare. P.S. Yes it's free, I don't charge for my mini apps :)

Laptop Upgrade Question
Go for the RAM upgrade. You won't see much of a performance increace from the CPU upgrade, the RAM will make a huge difference.

Compressing Music Files
You could download the Lame Codec and Audacity. Load your audio file into Audacity and save them as MP3, you should be able to play about with the MP3 quality settings so you can reduce the file size. But don't forget any compression will always introduce artifacts into the audio, so you should play with the quality settings until you find something that sounds good to you. P.S. MP3s are already compressed, but you may be able to compress them further.

Major iPod Problem
Exactly what I said! We maintain all sorts of products and no way would we honor a warranty on a smashed screen, that's user damage, not a failed component.

RS HD Full Screen + Dual Monitors
That's an oxymoron isn't it? How can it be unusable in full screen but you still use it?
-
Just fixed. Lock please. :)
Have you checked the internet security zone in IE? If not, reset it as it may be blocking web activity, it should be set to Medium High. Also try disabling any I.E tool bars that look suspicious. Check the internet setting in I.E. Make sure it's set to auto detect and that proxy server is un-ticked (disabled).

Major iPod Problem
I seriously doubt Apple will cover damage under warranty. Warranties cover component failure, not damage. Apple will probably offer to repair it for you (you need a new screen), I have no idea how much it will cost though.

RS HD Full Screen + Dual Monitors
Get a mirror, stick it next to your first monitor. Hey presto, instant dual monitors :D

Game Maker 7.0 - Anyone out there who's good at using it?!!

Changing wired IP
Sorry hun, but what you suggested can be done by resetting the router in software. Simply unplugging it and reconnecting will not guarantee a new IP, that will depend on how long the IP lease is given to the mac address of the router.

Computer freezes
Sounds very much like a hardware fault, possibly overheating, possibly faulty RAM. But to check, boot your machine in safe mode and leave it a while, if it still crashes then it's almost definitely hardware. Things you may be able to check: 1. Make sure all the fans inside are spinning. 2. Try re-seating the RAM. 3. If your compitent enough, check cohesion between the heat sink and the CPU, and if necessary clean the surfaces and use new heat sink compound. 4. Re-seat any cards in your system such as Video etc. Good luck, Clare.

Changing wired IP
If you're running XP, you should log on as an administrator. If you're running Vista, then you should open an admin command prompt by doing the following: 1. In the search box, type CMD but don't press enter yet. 2. hold down Shift and CTRL, whilst holding them down, press ENTER. 3. if you're asked for a password, type in your administrator password. you will now be able to follow Makoto's instructions and releasing and renewing the IP address. But to be honest, I reckon you're going to get exactly the same IP address anyway. Generally wired ISP will allocate your WAN a static address. And if you have a router the DHCP will allocate you the next address on the list. So if you release your IP and renew, you're going to get the same IP allocated to you. I have a question, when you say Wired Internet, what do you mean?

Vista - File Transfer Speed
The actual problem did not effect copying files between internal hard drives. It effected copying files from the PC to different media, such as CD/DVD, Network shares and devices like memory sticks. The actual problem was slow file transfers and incorrect calculations on how long it would take to actually copy the files. I remember one person who was copying some files to a CD and Vista estimated that it would take 30 years :D. SP1 should have fixed this but I have heard one or two people saying it didn't fix their problem. I can't confirm this as every Vista SP1 system I have seen appears to be fine. So I would think the people still with problems are talking out of their posterior.

Stuck at 16 color and 640 x 480?
Oh My Gawd, Windows 98, now I haven't seen that since last week on my Virtual PC..... Seriously though, what graphics card is in your system? And I echo konzserwas's sentiment, good luck finding and installing those drivers, 98 is not as forgiving as XP, Win 98 is little more than a front end to DOS 7.

Installing Programs on Non-Admin Privledged Computers
Yes, talk to the administrators of the computers. Please don't ask us again about compromising security, we will not answer questions of that sort.

Funny HD bug
I think it's ok if your amour covers all of your body, but I'm wearing red dragon and my waist is showing. Not sure if that is the reason though. Obviously, this only happens in the new HD game.
