Microphone Help =/
Tracing noise like this can be a right pain, you need to try a few things. 1. Unplug the mic does it still happen? 2. Select another input source such as line in, does it still happen? 3. Make sure all other input volumes are set to zero. Sometimes the mic cable itself or even the microphone can pick up noise due to bad earthing, check the connections to make sure all is well. Usually though bad earthing picks up mains hum (50hz or 60hz depending on what country you're in). You could always Audacity's noise function to filter this out.

What is your biggest fear?
My two biggest fears are spiders and heights, both of them have me white with fear. Spiders have me screaming and was once quite dangerous when I was a passenger in a friends car, a spider dropped on my lap and he almost crashed the car as I was going crazy. and yep I know it's an irrational fear :? Heights actually make me dizzy, the funniest thing is I get vertigo when playing computer games too, if I have to walk along a ledge in a realistic 3D game such as Doom or Halflife 2, it really does make me all wobbly :(

What will this do?
Possibly, but that is also a lie, spyware is easily removed when you know what files, running processes & registry entries they infect.

Converting an ".xps" file to PDF file
I would use CutePDF. It works with ANY application as it acts like a printer! Print to Cute PDF and it creates a PDF instead of printing it! And it's Free too.

Removing window size limits
I think window sizes are limited by the Windows GUI, but I might be able to code something that gives you a list of currently open windows and for you to force it to a specified width and height. I will probably look into this over the weekend if you like? Clare.

scheduling tasks
2 things to check: 1. Can you run the batch file manually? 2. I know you're an administrator, and that means you are a member of the administrators group, but are you also a member of any other groups, such as users? If you are, remove them so that you are a member of Administrators only. And the reason is: If you are a member of any group that denies access to any resource, "you" will also be denied access, and that doesn't matter if you're an administrator. The way NT permissions work is that deny ALWAYS overrules allow, it's a security thing :geek:. So make sure you're a member of the administrators group only.

PHP GD Images?
Ah, in that case you defenately need to get tarlvl.php to output the result into a static image such as a gif. Then you can link your sig to that instead.

Windows 98SE safer than Windows XP?
Windows 98 has absolutely no security whatsoever. XP is definitely much more secure. XP had a bad patch though when MS had to halt production of Vista to concentrate on patching a bunch of security holes during a period they called "The summer of worms". SP2 was then released and since SP2 XP is much more secure.

Holy shid is this bad??? Help pleaseeeeeee
Sorry but please don't post on a technical forum if you don't know what you're talking about. As JoeDaStudd said, this is not a virus and AVG free is a bit over zealous at what it detects, and to some extent relies on your own knowledge to make decisions on its findings. The file SIntfNT.dll is commonly associated with games, particularly Sony, and was once part of their copy protection system. You should tell AVG that this file is okay. You may find some games don't run as AVG is blocking SIntfNT.dll. I know that someone had a problem running Colin McCrea Rally.

A really cool Vista utility I want to share!
My only concern is in using USB drives as RAM will have an impact on CPU as USB is controlled by the CPU (Not by hardware). So simply moving data on and off those devices on systems that are already slow will have quite a detrimental impact on performance :(.

Windows Vista vs. XP [discussion]
With all the good intentions of the Original Poster, this thread will soon loose the point of why the thread was started and end up just like all the other OS vs OS threads, a flame match. Please could a mod lock this before all hell breaketh out?

Need help with a form webpage
Okey Dokey! Found it and I have adapted it from the site I wrote it for. It was initially written for news items, but I have changed all that and made is into something I have called "Basic Blog". It's nothing fancy just the basics allowing you to play around with it. To take a look and to play around with it go to http://home.berzerk.co.uk/BasicBlog/. If it's what you want I will zip it up for you. Bye for now, Clare.

Need help with a form webpage
I wrote some code that was primarily designed for a news/blog style page. It doesn't require a database as it edits text files. The only constraint is that it's written in PHP, so your website would have to have PHP enabled. If this is of any use, I will see if I can find it for you? Clare.

Extender (Useful tools for I.T. Technicians)
I have now uploaded another little tool called GoSetup, here's what it does: I hate having to search for licence codes for all the applications I install daily during work, so I thought I would write a little tool that launches the applications setup program, and copies the licence code into the copy buffer. When your app asks for the license key, you can usually paste it straight in. Installation 1. Copy GoSetup[Caution: Executable File] and GoSetup.ini into the same folder as the applications setup file. 2. Edit GoSetup.ini. 3. Replace LICENCECODE with your applications licence code. 4. Replace Application[Caution: Executable File] with the setup executable, this is usually Setup[Caution: Executable File]. A typical GoSetup.ini may look something like this: 7467-4909-4638-3637-3278 Setup[Caution: Executable File] You can then point Extender to GoSetup[Caution: Executable File] instead of the applications setup executable. Or if you're not using Extender, run GoSetup[Caution: Executable File] directly. Here's the link. Have fun, Clare.

Windows xp service pack 3
Service pack 3 will have a lot off updates, including updated DLLs, and I am guessing some of the programs you're on about require the updated versions.

"VirtuMonde" Adware/Virus problem
Here's an addition, what you probably have is exactly what I am in the middle of sorting out at the moment on a PC someone just brought in. You have a trojan called Troj/Virtum-Gen. Here's some removal instructions: 1. On your PC, download THIS. Un-zip it and copy the contents to a CD or pen drive. 2. Boot your brothers machine into safe mode. 3. Insert the CD or pen drive. 4. Note down the drive letter of the CD or pen drive, I will assume it is D: 5. open a command prompt by typing CMD in the run box and pressing enter. 6. in the command prompt type SAV32CLI -REMOVE -P=C:\LOGFILE2.TXT and press enter. 7. when asked to remove a virus, press Y. I have found 50 infected files so far! Good luck, Clare.
