It may have looked like everything was fine in their relationship, but there is sometimes something private going on between couples that even the children don't see. Another way would be to install CutePDF which installs a virtual file printer that creates PDFs. Print to and hey presto you have it all in PDF. But I agree with skatedog111, I would just make the webpages by hand out of the excel data. If you like, post the file and I will see what I can suggest.

in vista click the vista (start) button and in the search box, type CMD and press enter. CMD is short for command. Typing Command and pressing enter will also work. If you want the run command back on the start menu in Vista do the following: 1. Right click the Start (Vista) Button 2. Click Properties 3. Click the Start Menu tab 4. Click Customize. 5. scroll down until you find Run Command and tick it.

Well that's good for CPU management, but won't really help with overall heat as it's not only the CPU that is the heat source. you're right about laptops being able to run 100% if airflow is fine though. Take it from me, I see more laptops damaged because of overheating than PCs. The thing is, PCs generally have a lot of space inside the system and you get a much better air flow. But it doesn't take much to block up a couple of vents on a laptop and from then on you get heat build up, not only from the CPU but from chipset, GPU and hard drive etc, they all contribute. I'm also amazed how many people I see on a train using their laptops and have not taken it out of the carry case, they simply unzip the top and open it. This completely blocks all the vents.

One thing you should always do regularly is to use a vacuum cleaner on the vents as they get clogged with dust. This prevents good air flow causing overheating. Here's a picture I took of a fan inside a laptop I repaired a few weeks back. This is what can happen if you don't clean the vents regularly, a mega build up of dust! Orrible innit!

Sorry but in my experience Athlons are the worst for heat, also they have terrible thermal cut out diodes so if anything goes wrong with their heat dissipation, they burn up taking the motherboard with them. If the same thing happens to an intel CPU, the thermal cutout diode slows the CPU down eventually stopping it saving all your precious hardware. Go for an intel dual core CPU, presently they beat athlons hands down.

LOL that's typical of a Vista forum, lots of people there but not many with an ounce of knowledge. I bet if you posted something like "I think vista sucks" that thread would be 10 pages long by now :lol:

Try looking on oldversion.com, they have lots of older versions of many apps there!

It's also worth noting that Firewire actually takes less system resources to shuffle data around than USB. The reason for this is that USB is all done in software so to actually move data the CPU does most of the work, where as Firewire it's mainly done with hardware. Reminds me of when modems became cheap and a lot of them had problems on low end PCs as they were software modems. If you did anything that required a lot of CPU, the modem would disconnect :lol:

It sounds like the Aero theme is turned off, Aero is usually turned off if the windows experience rating is low, or you haven't yet rated the experience index. To turn Aero back on do the following: 1. Right click My Computer and select Properties. 2. Click Windows Experience Index. 3. Click Update my score. If this doesn't solve it, make sure all drivers such as video are installed, and update the Windows Experience rating again. As a small note, if anyone has Vista and they change hardware or update any drivers, they should always update the Windows Experience Index.

The first thing I would do if I was you is un-install all software you don't need. Remove all anti-virus software and anything that may be masquerading as anti-spyware software. Next install: Avast antivirus home - it's free. When it asks if you want to schedule a scan next boot, say yes and reboot. Install Ad-Aware - It's free, make sure you do a full scan. Install Windows Defender - it's free and you will get real time active protection against most spyware. If all the above fails, are you able to go back to an old restore point, preferably one of the ones before all this happened?

Can't you just attach them to the email? If not, why not zip them up first?

okey dokey, here's is how I would do it: To start with, make sure every user has a unique identifier, I usually have a unique ID number using the auto increment method described earlier, but you could have a unique UserName instead. Create a folder on the site and call it something like uploaded-images. When you upload an image, rename it to either the persons UserName, or to the unique ID number associated with their record in the database. So if you got a user called Fred, then rename the image to Fred.jpg or Fred.gif depending on the file extension. Save the same filename into the database. when you need to display the image, lookup the filename in the database, load it into a variable called something like $UserImage and then you can display it in a browser by doing something like: Notice I have inserted the PHP directly into the HTML. Or you could do it like this: <?php echo ''; ?>

Before I answer I need to know one thing, how many images per user are up-loadable? Are the images like avatars, or are they artwork? What I'm asking, is it likely that a user can upload many images?

Eh, what for? Using virtual PC will not allow him to use PQ-Magic again. As far as I know, Virtual PC 2007 will run on any version of Vista, and run very well especially if your hardware supports virtualization :)

Shrinking a partition does exactly that, it makes it smaller. You are then left with free space on the drive that you can create another partition. I used to use Partition magic too, but with Vista it's kind of redundant. The same company that make Partition magic also makes PQ-Deploy, which was brilliant for imaging and copying drives, but unfortunately that doesn't work with Vista either :( . But yet again Vista comes to the rescue with its own tools for imaging, based on ghost so I am led to believe :).

If you upload a thumbnail and the full sized image then that is going to increase network bandwidth. The better option would be to upload the full sized image (Which you're doing anyway) and then create the thumbnail.
