Battlefield Discussion Thread
Tried to play BC2 today, and found I need another damn 1.5gb update. Time to delete some old stuff I guess...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
SpecOps was great fun, and was quite difficult at times. I'd also like to see Treyarch make a Zombies only game. They definitely shouldn't do another full COD game after how awful BO multiplayer was.

The Back Room
Just watched the first half of the pilot. I kinda enjoyed it, but at the same time it felt... wrong.

First build help
Everything at that store is super expensive, even for NZD. Are there any other retailers that ship to NZ? If not, you may have to cut back a bit.

Well, that makes my life a lot easier :wall:

First build help
You don't want a phenom, and if what I've heard is to be believed, you won't even want Bulldozer. The i5 2500k is the best gaming processor out there (the extra $100 for the i7 is far better spent on a GPU), and even the i3 2100 is better than the x6 for gaming. Give us a budget, and what you want to do with the computer, otherwise it's hard to put a good build together.

Europa Universalis 3 Session Thread
Austria is pretty swell, as with Bohemia (HRE), Burgundy, Norway, Teutonic Order, and Byzantine Empire Think they'll last through the next session?

The Back Room
I'm tempted to torrent the series tonight. Still working on 38 gigs of Back to the Future though. Gotta love browsing TIF by the dumpsters at work on a slow day :P

Europa Universalis 3 Session Thread
Sorry guys, I ended up taking an extra shift at work. France is looking like it's been raped. I might load up the save and see what nations are still decent. I won't be able to make Saturday either though.

THAT is def' BS. (agreeing with you btw) Are we talking Bad Company 2? I'm sorry, I have to disagree. It's not that hard to excel with just about any loadout, the only thing I've found annoying to deal with is the body armour and spot-scope folks. And even then it's really not that bad. I do understand that there may be difficulty finding a style that suits you... The unlock that really made the game easier for me was 12 gauge shells, because I ended up fitting the anti-sniper role perfectly. Nex, what do you play on?

Europa Universalis 3 Session Thread
I was running it from EU3.exe instead of EU3game.exe. I get DOCA now, so I just need the connection software and I'll be good to go.

I'm good for Tuesday. Any time after 9pm GMT. EDIT - How do you check your checksum?

Saturday is no good for me next week. Any weekday evening should be, except Wednesday. Looks like France is still alive, so I'll be joining as them.

Windows Update Won't Work WAT DO

Recommended laptop for University?
Don't get the G53-JW, the -SW has the new Sandy Bridge mobile, which is far better than the first line of i7 mobiles. Note those laptops are huge and heavy though.

Building my own computer
[hide] I noticed that, but it was the cheapest 320gb drive anyways. The Hitachi cheap 1tb drive is only 5200RPM iirc, so would be a bad choice for a boot drive. You sure? The link seems to be broken (maybe because they bumped the price up $5), so I'll re-up it. The one linked there is 7.2k RPM. EDIT: seems the Egg doesn't like that link either. Search this on their site: HDS721010CLA332 Anyone willing to tell me how to use hide tags? This quote chain is kinda big. [/hide] If it is 7200 RPM, it'd make a fine drive. Your links have www.http.com inbetween the Http:// and URL, so it's breaking them And this is how to use hide tags: [hied][/hide]

Europa Universalis 3 Session Thread
I highly doubt I'll make this session. My router's giving me problems, and I still need to do some installing. EDIT: Are you going for a full game, or 100 year sessions?

Is Runescape becoming to social?
I have to disagree with you. I can't count the number of [bleep] jokes that were made about fishing, or how many times people did those emotes to make it look like they were engaged in sexual conduct back in 06-07 when I played. If anything the community has matured in this aspect. I do remember making a female character and getting free beers in the Blue Moon Inn though. Good times.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
People who can't understand that people have different opinions on things, and resort to saying 'well you're [developmentally delayed]ed then' if you don't agree with them. Especially if it's over stupid [cabbage] like what Slurpee flavour is better or what movie was funnier. It's hardly a ripoff, the humor is way different. The only thing they have in common is that it partly takes place in an office.

Anyone else get this game? So far I'm impressed, although the matchmaking needs a bit of work.

Canadian Election Thread
Well on that username/hate linking stuff, it's an already existing law, they're just updating it to include internet on the list with telephones, telegraphs, etc. The crime omnibus and copyright stuff is so much horse [cabbage], I'm curious how hard it would be for a non-torie government to reverse that crap if it goes through It could be a great campaign platform for the Liberals/NDP next election. I'm more disgusted by the warrentless surveillance than the bit about hyperlinks tbh.
