I don't play EU3 to win, in fact one of my favorite things about Paradox games is there are no set victory conditions, so you can just play for fun, instead of having to do x by y date or you lose. I think if you look at ti that way, losing galleys is just another challenge to overcome, instead of a game ending event. I'd like to see more people playing though. The game is only $30 or less in total with all expansions from Steam or Gamersgate, and it's not that hard to acquire in other ways if you absolutely can't afford it. (Srsly though, buy paradox games, especially if you 'borrow' them first. They're probably the most honest devs out there, a model other companies should follow)
