  1. I have the checksum working and everything, I just need to dl the programs we use and figure out how to connect. Would anyone be down for a quick test game tonight? Edit: Do I want the managed or unmanaged version of Hamachi?
  2. Not necessarily true, as long as you touch the case before you touch a part, there's no risk of frying anything. Other than that and dropping something, not much else can go wrong.
  3. If you need a new computer, just build your own. You'd save money and it's kind of fun.
  4. Well, it just says that states can't make payments in anything but gold or silver.
  5. I'd go with one 6950 now. If you downgrade to a 6870 with plans to crossfire later, you will have to spend about $50 on a better motherboard. Planning to xfire later is only worth it if you plan to upgrade soon. If you wait more than a year, you money will probably be better spent getting a whole new card. Plus you have to deal with increased power consumption and heat issues.
  6. Damn right it is! How did you like Victoria? I went there a couple years ago, and if I could move to another city in Canada it's definitely where I'd go.
  7. Napped through the session
  8. I have a Gigabyte X58 (old i7) mobo, and I really like it, especially the bios. Only downside is you can't use a USB keyboard in the BIOS, which can be a pain if you have a wireless mouse/keyboard that run off the same adapter.
  9. I don't have that issue with my Xbox. Maybe yours is too old? If anything logic would say HDMI should be worse than component. Since component is transmitting one data stream via 1 wire into 1 socket specifically for using that data stream. Where as HDMI is all 5 data streams crammed into 1 wire and dealt with by 1 socket; which would allow for more corruption of the data/signal within the wire and more issues with decoding it back to light and sound outputs. Kinda like how in the old days Scart produced ghosts when Component Av didn't. Except HDMI is a digital signal, so it either sends a perfect picture, or nothing. Analogue is vulnerable to static and other types of interference. That's why gold plated and monster HDMI cables are a scam. Seriously, try using VGA on a HD monitor. It'll look like crap.
  10. Care to fill me in on the significance of that number?

On the topic of licenses, it's utter [cabbage] here. Cant get your beginners until 15.5, or 16 without drivers ed. Then you have 9 months where you have to drive with a sober registered driver. Then you have another 15 months of no driving with more than 1 person after 12am, and no BAC. Then you have another 3 YEARS of no BAC, meaning the average person will be almost 22 before they can drive after even half a drink. It's even stupider when you consider the drinking age is 18. But at least we have cheap socialist car insurance.
  12. From experience with Xbox 360s, Component looks far worse than HDMI. You get ghosting issues, while with HDMI you either get a perfect signal or no signal.
  13. I highly doubt it'll run on integrated chipsets, especially not old Intel GMA ones.
  14. And you know who produces Corsair's psu's? Seasonic isn't budget. Apart from Corsair and Seasonic as good brands, i'd include: Antec, Enermax, Fractal Design and OCZ. Bad wording on my part, I shouldn't have said budget/high end. Seasonics do tend to be about $20 cheaper than their Corsair counterpart. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-manufacturer,2913-4.html
  15. GET OUTTA MAH COUNTRY YOU AMERICAN INFIDEL!!1!1!
  16. How is 9-12 GMT for everyone? I can play for sure if someone explains to me how to set up hamachi and mumble, and how to connect to a game.
  17. All looks good. Just know you won't be able to Xfire or SLI later on if you choose to as you will have one 16x pci-e slot and one 4x pci-e slot. I'd also look at getting a 2gb 6950 as they can be flashed to perform as a 6970, but I don't really know much about how that works.
  18. It sounds very much like a graphics issue to me, especially if you are playing on an old intel chipset. Try on some other browsers and try reinstalling java first so we can rule those out though.
  19. Found something fun yesterday. Pick any random article on Wikipedia, and click the first blue link of the article not in brackets, then click the first link of that article, and so on. 99% if not all articles will eventually lead back to philosophy.
  20. I wish, but I start at 4 and I still have to shower, eat and get ready. Plus tbh I'm still not 100% clear how to connect.
  21. I work again. Any day should be good for me, unfortunately my work schedule happens to conflict with every day we plan.
  22. Hmm. What graphics chip/card do you have? If you don't know, press winkey+r, type dxdiag, and show us a screenie of the display tab.
  23. Seasonic makes nice budget PSUs, Corsair makes higher end ones. I wouldn't trust many other brands. If you are interested in other brands, go to tomshardware and check the chart that shows who manufactures the PSUs that other companies rebrand and sell.
  24. Just look for one with at least one intake and exhaust fan, preferably more. I'm assuming you don't care about rice, but make sure you like the look too, unless it will be under the desk.
  25. You'll want a P67 motherboard. That GPU is very weak, I'd be looking at a 560 ti or 6950 for decent gaming. The HDD is fine though. I'd also look at a case with better ventilation. Ill take abetter look at it tomorrow.
