  1. I was thinking the same.
  2. Are you serious? What would you do? Instantly log out when you see the timer? I always play till the last second when I see that timer, unless I'm at GWD or something. I think the point he was making was that it's foolish to see the timer nearly run out, and still have the whip on the floor. That and I doubt you'd stay until the last second at Bandos, it's just not the best idea [which is the essential comparison, using your situation].
  3. Nope. I'm content with RS. I've seen Wow and it just doesn't hold my interest the way RS does. :) Same here. Wow doesn't come off entertaining to me, just seems too complex. I'll just stick with RS, simple and enjoyable. I'll second that. Though, the cheap price is nice.
  4. Yes, just partion your HD.
  5. Don't buy it. It's a pretty little machine without any drivers installed. Nor does Acer supply these. I almost got hooked into it myself, but then I read the reviews.
  6. I've been using it for awhile but it gets annoying when things freeze or don't work. Ah well, it's only a beta.
  7. Well there always working on a new OS, it's the nature on computing, there will always be something better and faster coming out just around the corner. Get Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out. The requirements are going to be the same for Windows 7 as they are for Vista so you will not need to upgrade your pc to run Windows 7. Ok. Well il do some more research, and find out some more thing, then il come back But can I avert everyone's attention to the first page, first post? Please, for the cost of the computer, could you guys give me a rating of the whole computer out of 10? The build is fine. Buy it. Build it. That's a pretty good build for the money, and you're not going to find that at Dell.
  8. A netbook? For uni? :? Sure the portability is nice, but HD space is going to become a problem. Also, if I was going to switch to a Mac, this would be another reason. I have yet to see any Windows equivalent. iWeb and iPhoto would be great for me. Here's some other benchmarks.
  9. It has a PCIe X16 for your graphics card. What else are you buying that's X16 or AGP?
  10. It's a natural human reaction to loss. Why should we view a game any differently? Pixels are what support my stock, pixels are what make up my bank account, and pixels make up my ten page essay. From you viewpoint, it's the equivalent of losing five of my ten essay pages. It's due tonight at midnight, why wouldn't I be angry? I wouldn't sit there and say, "Ah well, it's only pixels. I'm sure my professor will understand."
  11. Ok great! Thank you, visuals always help. I'm downloading it now to put on a CD, but I've been on the same encrypted page for twenty minutes. -.- Ok, seriously, I'm still here. [hide=][/hide] It's been, what, 50 minutes? -.- EDIT: Got it working. And Windows 7 is pretty good.
  12. The motherboard looks pretty good, what's wrong?
  13. Ok, I think I got it from here. Thank you both. :
  14. So, I want to keep Vista on this machine. But I also would like to try out Linux, or perhaps even Window 7. I've partioned my HDD to make another free 20GB. Now my question, do I go ahead and format the drive with NTFS or leave it unformatted? But then, how do I save an OS onto it without it ever going into the other HD?
  15. Netbooks are all right, but for another $100 you could just get a regular laptop. Eh, I guess if you traveled a lot it might come in handy.
  16. I'm going to go with a Mac, if you're buying a laptop. iMacs are due for an update this quarter anyways, and are way expensive. The laptops are decently priced however. I've used a Mac for a year or so previously, but went back to a PC, because I was doing a few games. But for all general purposes it was great and I never experienced any of the problems I've had with Windows before. It's all the little things, like not having to worry about drivers, plug and play, fantastic design, minimalistic, etc. And the design and structure of the MacBooks are superb, pretty much second to none. But all that ease of use is going to cost you. Also, if you're wanting a Mac, wait until Snow Leopard comes out later in Q1. Don't forget, you can run Windows on a Mac if you don't like it. People have mentioned that you can do the same on a PC, but it's currently breaking the law.
  17. I've been lagging since the update, anyone else? EDIT: Never mind, I was on a New Zealand world. -.- But, I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner.
  18. Indeed I am, but only when at a place when I know I can't get my stuff back and I'm risking millions worth of items.
  19. Duo Cores are a waste, especially since he's not playing Crysis and wants his rig to be future proof. Now granted a Q6600 isn't impervious, but Quad's will soon the new Duo's. And yes, the farther up you go the more expensive in comparison. But budget desktops aren't that bad. 20. When I bought my Dell it wasn't too expensive compared to building it yourself. Granted, the CPU fan sounds like it's overclocked, and their sending me a new one. But their customer support was pretty good; on the technical chat at least.
  21. So, I just bought an Acer H213Hbmid and I had planned to use this with it's HDMI port, as my Raedon 3450 has one. Then, I was going to connect my other 20" LCD via DVI. But when I use the HDMI port, it only sees it as a TV. It gives my the 1080p resolution, but then it has a black frame around 2" all across the border. So now I'm using DVI for the Acer, and VGA for the other monitor. Any ideas how I can use HDMI/DVI instead of DVI/VGA? I used the Catalyst Controller and Windows, neither worked.
  22. I understand, you're just like me when it came to wanting the latest and greatest. Fortunately people on these forums, such as Nadril and OldJoe made me realize that I didn't need any of that. They Q6600's stock speed will always be ~2.4Ghz, mind you that's four cores running at that speed. However, if you want the most bang for you buck, you would invest in a decent CPU and rear fan and overclock the processor. Of course, once you get it, I doubt you will. To this day, my Q6600 has never hit 60% of it's usage. If you really just want an extra boost, invest in more memory or a better GPU rather than a slightly faster processor, that's slower under the circumstances of overclocking. If you really want a faster processor, buy a water cooling system. I've heard people have clocked their Q6600 to over 4.0Ghz.
  23. It won't copy for me, but I'm getting 21MB per second. How can you live with anything under 10?

Hehe, I do the same thing. Except, I base most people's looks based on their avatars/signatures. LOL, does that mean you'd think I look like Slash?(My avatar)   Pretty much, I just associate you with him when I talk to you. And even when I talk to Lenticular_J, I think I'm talking to Simba, the lion. :|
