2012 U.S. Elections - President Obama Re-elected
Key word. First, that's two words. Second, there wasn't a chance in hell jeb Bush was running this year, any candidate who has an actual shot is waiting for 2016 since the American people re-elect a first term president ~75% of the time. Third, Jeb Bush supports Romney fully so I doubt voting for one would be any different from the other. Fourth, why in the hell would we want another Bush in the office? We've already had two and the second one was disastrous. I think Vezon was somehow trying to assert that it was actually impossible to get really sick or lose access to health insurance. I think he's just trolling or something.

2012 U.S. Elections - President Obama Re-elected
High five for picking the most hyper-partisan source you could find. That would really only be relevant if the information was incorrect. I could find other sources giving the same statistics if you want them. I'm debating here mostly to learn, so if you'd like to enlighten me on the real facts instead of picking out a single sentence from my post to make a pointless remark on, I'm listening.

Taken off of the front page of whitehouse.gov. Seems to me like people are getting jobs. (And yes I understand your point of people dropping out of the labor force, but this still shows overall job growth.) If you're going to choose a way to criticize Obama, pick a better one, he's not asking for a peace prize.

That's going to be the Republican candidate unless something very dramatic and unlikely happens.

I get to vote for the first time for this upcoming election, yay. Yeah, I'll vote for Obama. I'm certainly not going to vote for Romney, and I don't feel wasting a vote on an obscure candidate that won't win. I don't think any "message" it sends to other parties is really worth it.

My math teacher is really old. This is her last year teaching, she'll be retiring after this year. We always ask her about what math was like when she was a kid, and how her grandkids are. Guaranteed to waste a few minutes.

Okay, well then I don't think it matters how one achieves sexual gratification as long as it's not directly harming another person or infringing on their rights.- Stuff you could NEVER get into
I don't think he's going to be convinced any time soon lol. Harsh vocals seem to be something that people need to get "into" to some extent before they realize it's actually as legitimate a form of music as anything else really is. But it's obviously perfectly fine if you don't like it and you acknowledge that. [hide][/hide]- Ethics and Morality

I could widen the net a bit and say that if it's necessary to mention screaming in the name of the genre, then it's going to be done frequently enough to kill any of the emotional or artistic merit of the sound. It's like if you repeated the any word over and over, it loses its meaning. Maleficus summed it up, but really? Screaming means there's no emotion or artistic merit? If you want to discard entire genres of music based on one thing, then I assume it's fair to say all music where they sing is bad too? Just because it's not the norm and you don't enjoy it doesn't mean you can call it all bad. This entire song is screamed. If you're going to say there's no artistic merit in this, fine, art is subjective so you could really say whatever you want about that. But this song conveys all sorts of emotion, and does a very good job at it.- Stuff you could NEVER get into
Just like anything, you have to understand what audience you're talking to when you're describing the music. I'm probably not going to tell a 12 year old or a middle aged woman that I listen to melodic hardcore. But if I was trying to get music recommendations from a site like last.fm or pandora, or if I was discussing it on a music-based forum, or if I was talking with someone who I knew was knowledgeable about that kind of music, sure, I would call it what it is. That's pretty much exactly what genre names are.- Stuff you could NEVER get into
Where the lead is screaming. It's quite self explanatory. And on that note, over categorised music. It annoys me when people get annoyed that their favourite music is classed in a broader genre and not some super niche which nobody has ever heard of but is totally what it is. I didn't enjoy the genre talk either until I started listening to more and more music; it's actually something to embrace so you can more accurately describe to someone what kind of music you like. For example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13wM7Iqdzb8 I hope you can see the vast differences between these two songs. Do you think someone who likes that first song would like the second? Probably not. That's why specific genres exist. The first song would probably be described as either 'technical metal' or 'progressive metal', somewhere in that area. The second would be 'crunkcore'. This is why it's kind of dumb to listen to both those songs and say "oh yeah those are screamo." screamo is not a vocal style, it's a specific genre.- Plug's 50 albums you should own
