Yeah the one from zybez is what I am currently using to code into my homepage, its decent, but the feed only covers the latest 3 articles. And yeah, GE prob wont work, as there would be major server load issues (unless they perhaps moved the entire GE database onto a new dedicated server)

You got my support. However when you say optional, do you mean you can set it as a setting? or you just give people two ways of doing it? I think there should be some kinda dialogue made with a NPC, or option in the option screen to select. That way we wont have a bunch of people dropping and loosing stuff they wanted to keep, then getting all mad because of it. But yah, great idea SirHemen :thumbsup:

Please define tons -.- I have currently found 2, one from Runehead, and the live feed fails, and one from Zybez, which takes from the Forum section and only displays 3. There is no GE version, and there certainly aren't tons of these. To top it all of Jagex could do a much better job, because it would come straight from the source in which it was made, and be directly available. :wall:

What is RSS? RSS (Realy Simple Syndication) put simply, is a web feed. Which can be used to publish information (such as new posts/new headlines/you name it) in a simple format. This can then be viewed, on practicaly anything. From Desktop Widgets to Cellphones. It can even be embed into your very own webpage. An example http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_world.rss (If you use Firefox/Opera - Stick that into your address bar and you will see a bunch of news headlines, with date/time and a snippet of the report. IE might do it also, I have no idea) What to make RSS feads for in Runescape? Well my suggestion is that they make it for the latest news, and to be a bit more wacky, The Grand Exchange. How will it benefit us? Now the news might not benefit us much, however with it, you could place the RSS address into your desktop widget for example so you can keep updated (Set it to refresh every 5 min for example) The one which could benefit us even more is having a RSS feed for grand exchange, Imagine being able to get the latest prices for that item you are trying to merchant, on your cellphone. You could be anywhere, and still get the information you want to know, same for news. For web developers alike, We could also put this into use, for example what I am doing is making my own homepage, which is getting the RSS feed (from another site) for the news, and scrolls through it automatically for me. If we had it set up for the GE, you could quite simply set up a page gathering the prices for the items you want, in what ever view you prefer. Before I mentioned desktop widgets also. The RSS widget for the Vista Sidebar is a fine example of this, and should Jagex implement RSS, you could keep up to date from your Desktop. The reason for its awesome community is the fact that quite a lot of mature people are on there, and developers and stuff, I doubt Runescape will be "flooded" with beggers and such like people say (Most in forum already seem to know of Runescape now anyway) And It would be cool if they did something out of game for it, but I don't think it possible. This is Java, not Flash, and I doubt Jagex is going to code something just so it works with Kongregate.

Hmpth. Kongregate should totality make a Kongai card for this :thumbsup: I doubt it will damage RS in anyway.

hay nice guide! :D I just went and brought everything from GE, stuck it all into a spare tab I had, and I am now set to go lvl 1 Clue hunting :D I'm kinda new to all of this so it was very helpful, especially to get prepared like this. Will you be making similar guides for lvl 2/lvl 3 clues as well? or don't they have the big uri specifications? Anyway, thanks and the guide is very nicely laid out, made obtaining my items before hand very easy/quick.

Here are the following quests I must do before I can even reach "Rocking Out" - Great Brain Robbery - Cabin Fever - Rum Deal - Zogre Flesh Eaters - Jungle Potion - Big Chompy Bird Hunting - Recipe for Disaster - Pirate Pete Sub Quest And on top of all that a few skills need training to those levels... I tell you now, this is going to take me a pretty long time before I can use this method :D Cool guide though, at least your descriptive... and you have given me something to aim for :D

Well, not everyone, but allot yes... I have every respect for F2P players as I do for P2P. Because I used to be F2P... I guess the main reason why people seem to bash F2P is because they find a lot of free players complaining about how they don't receive updates and such, also some think of themselves as higher up in the "Respected" hierarchy because they happen to pay for the game while free players... don't It's a shame and annoying to see, but shamefully unlike being black in the 1950's, it wont stop.

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to member RS, so I have only been doing some quests and skills etc... But I was thinking about for when I get a 99 skill, I hear (read rather) people mentioning having trimmed/untrimmed capes? Can someone please explain the difference between the two for me and why I read you can only have one untrimmed cape at a time? (Is it for looks or what? How different are they to obtain?) well this is what "I" would do if I had 300mill. First I would get a decent set of armour, for Mage/Ranged/Melee , and I would buy that X2, Makes swapping them around in the bank so much easier. Then I would obtain some weapons, even a variety of weapons. Again X2 or more, and place them all up nicely in the bank with its respective armour. - A big stock of every single rune in the game - Variety of bows etc Then comes the skills.. for me I would obtain materials needed for construction, herblore, smithing, crafting, farming And buy any food, such as swordies or something, Raw... So I could then cook it all while getting food + exp Also I would no doubt go to a guide for every quest in the game... and pre-buy the items needed for them so one day I could go and complete every quest :D

I was simply showing you how different the faces actually look compared to the ones you had posted, something you had overlooked. And if you make those faces even smaller, and blurred on the edges like they do in the trailer, then yes they would look very similar. (N = Noob / M = Me who decided to act an a$$) OK this happened last night, while I was getting exp for Hunting down at the Mort Myre (excuse spelling) swamps getting me some Swamp Lizards. I was already in the area, but when I logged into one world, I saw someone was occupying the first section of trees in which you can set traps. So I log off, respectfully, and try another world. Moment I get on N: This my patch noob, get of now M: Nah (He asked for it IMO...) Now mind, I was only like level 37 or so, I was going to be there up until the level needed to hunt Orange Salamanders. N: Hunting Level? M: 37 N: L0L what a n00b M: So... you were my level once before you know... N: idc... N: You get lesser hunting here anyway M: "idc" (he had secured to the first 2 plants, while I had one, and didn't decide to fight over getting one more with my "set 2 traps and one time") N: LMAO look at you not get any Now I decide to totally ignore him, and laugh at his attempts to seek attention N: ... N: N00b N: N00b N: B00b (Yes I can finally report him for something! - Weak I know... but I don't wanna be called a [bleep]... :P ) N: B00b N: N00b Time goes by, I catch a few, he does nothing apart from N: Wow, noob got one? N: let me have 2 please *silence* N: OK, one? Now sometimes he would succeed, but I ended up getting them back... I would see him sit at a spot... waiting for me to collect the catch... but I just let it sit there for a while hanging in the tree. N: OMG N00b, I was here first you nerd M: You also insulted me... N: I don't care n00b, these were my 2 trees Whaaaa? 2? I check his highscore and see he is level 38... wtf M: Did you not laugh at me for being level 37 a while ago? N: HAHA, yeah what a n00b... By "HIGH" I mean with AA included... Shall I make this easier for you? Look at the nice smooth face, pretty much what you see in the Trailer. (Except for look on face/hair etc) You can stop "investigating" now... and if you really want to see the difference then get yourself a gfx card that can handle it :)

Go get yourself a decent graphics card, stick the settings up on high (in RS) and observe how the heads... look pretty much like they do in that picture from the Trailer... Gawd man. If you want to complain about something and least investigate into it properly... :wall:

Looks very much fake to me.. just look at the light/thin boarder of the image, compared to all of the other ones.

Doesn't lag for me, no... But then again it shouldn't with 4GB ram. Virtual machines normally tend to work well on anything 2GB+.
