Pictures of those TIFers! ~All NEW!~
Me_Hate_Libs replied to -Devoted12-'s topic in General Discussion
I'll give max trade limit, 60k for me, to anyone who can snipe me. I'm always on world 24, unless hunting pengs on wednesday. -
Continuing the analogy, if that car doesn't get you where you need to go, then wouldn't you want to sell that car and get a new one that does what you want? Yes, but if you've payed for it, and invested your time and energy into it, you wouldn't want to junk it as soon as doesn't operate how you want it. You'd do your damnedest to try and fix it. I also don't like the direction that the game is taking, not one bit. Been that way since MMG took over. Now that all the buzz over him has died down, it's obvious that things are lacking. Maybe I can't put my finger on it, but this game is certainly lacking something it didn't use to. It's this direction is why I'm semi-retired. I let my membership lapse for 2 months, and as a non-pvper, boy did I choose a good 2 months to take a break. Then I got it back for a month because I knew a quest would be out. Then I got the 28 minute Curse of Arrav. JaGEx done got me again! :x

Am I the only one who see's a suspicious pattern here? I'm starting to believe that zaros is an alternate version of guthix, ment to restore balance and stability throughout gelinor. When guthix falls asleep, zaros enters gelinor and builds his empire which, to my knowledge, never made war against their fellow man.As zaros is removed from power, the void created by it caused unbalance that was the god wars. After guthix ended the godwars and went back to sleep with his edicts in place, lucien stole two ancient artifacts that could potentially give him the powers of the gods while possibly remaining a majarrat, excluding him from guthix's edicts and granting him the power to take over gelinor. Perhaps, while guthix sleeps, azzandra and others loyal to zaros can bring him back, saving gelinor from lucien. Guthix sure has the worst sense of timing to go to sleep. Don't forget before we went to sleep, he was down in the caves crying. Crying always seems to make the girls I know sleepy, that is before I smack them and tell them to shut up and go make me some muffins. :

No, if the person left, I don't think they'd give a damn what that person had wanted. It's much more likely that it was a long term pet project for that person, and they're not all that interested in doing it.

They're busy creating Mechscape. Sure they say they have seperate teams, but you have to admit that having a year with less content and more upgrades, which if we're honest, aren't nearly as resourse consuming as new content, and they're getting onto the thick of developing a whole new MMO? As far as transparency goes, Jagex is pretty much the Bush administration of MMO's.

Chasing Perfection: Jagex's Quest for a PvP Utopia
Me_Hate_Libs replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
Jagex didn't apologize and Jagex never said that. Mat K did. He was admitting he was wrong and how rare it is for him to do just that, not for Jagex as a company. Surely enough, everybody goes and takes his words out of context. This is exactly why companies forbid employees from apologising. It is tantamount to admitting fault and the employees actions are interpreted as the actions & thoughts of the company as a whole and not as an individual person. Seeing such an intelligent person say that hurt me a little. I understand that a lot of people here are naive enough to truly believe the choice is that simple, but please, not you. Over 800,000 people regularly PvP? Not including trickers and skillers? I doubt that. Not an attack on you libs, just pointing out numbers. My theory behind all the threads is because they are whingers. Whoever said 6% of the total population quit in the big RWT updates, I think you are underestimating. It was stated over 100k people cancelled their subscriptions in the fortnight after the update. That represented roughly 10% of the members at the time. Plus how many freebies? I'll see your English insurance and raise you Melbourne! The hoon laws bumped my premium up by $3k. If I'm honest, the 10% of people who left due to the nerfing of the original PVPing may have been what stuck in my brain as 10% of the people PVP. I was only going on what I remembered, and I'm not infallable. And admitting fault? Oh lawdy, we can't 'mit tha we dun no wrong nohow. We gots ta hide dat right der. :ohnoes: -

Frankly, JaGEx should've stayed out of the RTS area all together and never developed this. Better to let someone who specializes in it to do it properly. -
The Elf questline being so low saddens me. It saddens me because it is, I believe, the oldest quest chain in the game. It also has the most amount of quests in the quest chain. To go so many years without a thought given to it, that's just depressing. Why must you ignore the Elves?!

Not all of them. Only skinning, tailoring and Enchanting. Well, if you train them just yourself, don't forget leatherworking. And talk about a lack of skills. More skills are not always better. Many Runescape skills are trained for the sake of levels- Firemaking, Cooking, Smithing, Herblore, Crafting, Fletching, and, to a certain degree, Construction. And you actually have just as many gathering skills on Runescape than WoW. Runescape has Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Hunter. WoW has Fishing, Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning. You might be able to count thieving in there as well. Also seven skills are totally combat related- Attack, Defense, Strength, Health Points, Prayer, Slayer, and Ranged. That's almost a third of the 24 Runescape skills. So, here's the useful non-combat skills: Farming, Mining, Woodcutting, Hunter, Thieving, Agility, Summoning, Magic, and Runecrafting. So, in truth, only nine out of seventeen non combat skills are actually useful. Considering that in WoW you can have five professions, all useful, Runescape is only a bit better. I disagree. Many of these skills, though useless in generating profit, can be very fun for some people who enjoy them a lot. I personally hate skilling, but ask around, and you'll probably find someone who enjoys wasting his life away doing pointless things like breaking his fingers will trying to smith some steel cannonballs or whatever. And they provide more variety, and a market to make the primary industry skills actually useful. Take away smithing and co., and you'll probably see a large drop in profit of the primary industry skills. For me, the only skills that are trained just for their levels are smithing and firemaking. Everything else I level because I can use the benefits that having a higher level skill offers me. Also, Runescape skills have more depth and versatility to them. That and I love the fact that I can do *all* of them, and at the same time. I'm not pidgeonhold into doing two. PS, I train cooking because I like to make the food that I use, not for the sake of the levels. And on another thing, something I like about Runescape? A sense of humor. Things that a person who doesn't take a game so seriously can enjoy. WoW is drier than a popcorn fart.

This rant wasn't about bashing Jagex or Runescape. Just the pople on this forumm. I don't complain about every update. I mean, who doesn't like Runescape cards at a 7-Eleven right? And I didn't complain about the PVP update because it didn't affect me really. I complained about the people complaining about the update. I'm very in touch with my inner curmudgeon and updates, or lack there of as it relates to stuff to do on the game, have been very flawed. I don't expect a WGS every quest, but I expect a quest taking longer than a half hour to complete. Anyway, point of my topic. It's a flat and baseless argument to make. It is also not an issue of people adapting to the game. Any criticism, whether good or bad, is met with people telling them they have no right to complain because they can't make a better game. I can't build a car, but if I pay for one, I expect it to get me where I need to go.

With the removal of the Summoning tab, is their any way for you to check now what your pet's growth perecentage is?

I played it twice and I KNOW it's terrible. I played it at least 160 times and I still like it. Yeah, but we knew you were weird before it came out anyway. -
21st July 2009 - The Curse of Arrav (and Patch Notes)
Me_Hate_Libs replied to Xecer's topic in General Discussion
[hide=] I don't think that would work... the Ritual is a rejuvination ritual for the Mahjarrat, it doesn't give you excessive amounts of power (I think) and it wouldn't work for humans (I think, otherwise humans would have been attending these for centuries, or tried to). About Crux Equal, I don't think any Mahjarrat would want to ally with humans, remember how sceptic he was of us helping him hibernate. I'm curious about what happens when only one Mahjarrat remains. How will they continue to exist? And though they may not view humans as equals, we do make good servants. We're intelligent, dexterous, and have needs and wants they can fulfill. I mean, we've freed Azzandras, aided Lucien, may have revived Hazeel, hid Jhallen, and defeated General Khazard. Obviously, we are of some use. Note how in every case we have either been their only choice, or been the one that happened to come along to revive/free them. And Mahjarrat can reproduce I think. It mentions Khazards mother in the notes, Pakirra or something. I assume humans didn't produce a Mahjarrat. Enakhra is the only remaining female Mahjarrat (see her note). But Enakhra has no intentions of reproducing- ergo, the species will die out due to the rituals. Yes she does, she just wants Zamorak... Remember that he was a Mahjarrat once. [/hide] You think Gods still want a piece of [wagon] then? -

Yeah, since this offers me no benefit without hundred of hours of gameplay, I'll just stick to chopping wood. -.- -
Well they keep doing everything wrong! I mean the Curse of Arrav just ended like that, with no warning or lead up or anything. Pain in the [wagon]. :shame:

No. No they're not. If the God Letters are to be believed, Guthix barely even has heard the named Zaros. After Guthix went to sleep Zaros came, and then Guthix awoke after Zaros was gone. Ok I'm wrong. Everyone ignore me lol. Though you never know, Zaros could be us. Which could explain why one of the most powerful Majjharat(sp?) (Azzandra) taught us Ancient Magicks. And also explains why we have no levels when we first log in; he was drained of power when Zamorak stabbed him I believe. We're not Zaros, you're grasping at straws with those examples. And as Dexter pointed out, doesn't explain how the Balance Elemental knows us, or why Guthix would have "plans" for us. Grasping At Straws should be their next minigame. You pay 500gp and you spend 2 minutes chasing after sailboats, new GWD bosses, dragonite ore, and Zaros' floating shadowy conciousness.

I am so tired of this argument that people use. Any time you criticize JaGEx, Runescape, or even an update, people tell you to shut up and just leave the game. I mean, I understand how complaining gets old, but when I've been playing for 7 years and I complain about something, it annoys the hell out of me when people to tell me if I don't like the game to just leave. I don't want to leave damnit. I'm complaining because I think the game it going to hell. I don't want to abandon it, I want to express what it is that is ruining an otherwise great game. So, if the person says something stupid, ignore it. However,, if they're someone like me, debate the point, don't tell me to just leave. Because that kind of argument is unoriginal and has no merit itself.

Yeah, truth be told Paul put the creatures there to protect the stairs that lead to his secret porn stash. =D> Waaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, that word isn't blocked out in the censor. Oo I know, sweet huh. I previewed it and it worked, so I gave it a shot. It by itself isn't a dirty word. Just an abbreviated version of another word. Hells yeah!

I know it would be a spoiler for most people, but I really wish they had some accurate and detailed timeline for RS history they could make for us.

Chasing Perfection: Jagex's Quest for a PvP Utopia
Me_Hate_Libs replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
It's Jagex. Making complicated rules for no other reason than to annoy and infuriate people? Well that's simply a British pastime. Try getting insurance on a car in England. Then you'll understand. -

If you dont know what this guy is talking its Wizard of Oz. QFC: 15-16-28-59235851 After having released nearly 160 quests, eventually they're going to have done many, many things, since they try to make each quest different. So no, no relation, no tie in, just a statistical coincidence.

Chasing Perfection: Jagex's Quest for a PvP Utopia
Me_Hate_Libs replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
So what player faction do you care about. I care about the players that actually do something and produce something in this game. If I buy coal that someone has mined, then he has gotten my money and I have gotten my coal. If I bought 10k coal and then sell it for a higher price, then do it many times a day I have done nothing. I have helped no one and done nothing other than skim some cash on each transaction. I neither produced nor consumed anything. Merchanters suck.
