Ok, here's the message I sent Jagex (sorry it's shoddy but 500 characters pfft) Dear Jagex, Good job on combating RWT, but this message is about the censor. Jagex, is your game or is it not intended for players of the age 13 years old and above? Please Jagex, have a look ovet this thread on the Tip.It Forums about Offensive language. Look, I'm sorry but to be very honest, I do not care whatesoever about Real World Trading. How does it affect me, in any way,shape or form what anothe player does? I don't really care about level 100s with 2bill and I don't care how they got it. Does my gameplay experience on Runescape change? No. I would much rather still have unbalanced trades and PKing than to get rid of RWT. Because frankly I don't care.

I agree with the guy above me, just go to a school playgrund. Almost all the kids at my primary school knew the meaning of every word that's censored and they all used them. As someone mentioned on the lastpage, why not get rid of the censor all together? At first, yes there would be chaos. But people would be banned and people would eventually just not swear. And how are you offended by stars. You never know what word they said, they coul've easily said 'fing' instead of 'thing' because they're lazy. But the most ideal opton is to toggle the censor so you can/can't see them. I'm also in the process of sending a message to Jagex, I'll post with what's returned soon.

Yes. Indeed how soon we forget. How soon we forget that the guy over there with a steel axe was us a few montsh/years/weeks ago. Or that the guy mining copper with 30 mining and 4 lobsters in his inventory was once us. How soon all of us foget what being a noob was. I remember when I got my combat got to level 20. I was told by my IRL friend that after level 20 I was officially "not a noob". I was ecstatic. Then I got to 30 Combat. I laughed at those level 20 noobs. And it continued on like that. All those level 80s claim that all those people who are only 50 combat are noobs. But they were once those level 50s being called noobs by level 80s and they didnt like it. But now they're level 80, they're not a noob anymore right? Wrong. Soon those level 80s will be level 100s, and laughing at the nooby level 80s, quickly forgetting that they were once those "nooby level 80s". And we also forget how much of a thrill levelling was, no matter how low it was. Back in the day, I didn't care if it had taken me a week to get 30 Ranged. Man I felt good. Now I have 68 Ranged. And yes, I do think 30 Ranged is a nooby Ranged level. But how soon we forget about our old noob days. We worked for ages to get 50 Mining, the next day we forget about it because we're so focused on getting 70 Defence. One great line I've heard was "Todays milestones are tomorrows stepping stones". And they really are. So next time you see someone you consider to be a noob, or is very excited about getting a level you know think low, think to yourself "Hey, didn't tha used to be me?"

Wow that's an interesting idea. Imagine, back when half these words weren't offensive if we found ifferent words to be offensive, bad could be censored right now. :shock:

That's why it's such a travesty. Jagex really takes out the time to find EVERY SINGLE WAY something can be written as a curse or innuendo. Yet, they can put in examines like "I better stay away from those dwarven balls" or the once popular "she's kicking HAM ***" (they changed it). Jagex really needs to grow up with the censors. I'm not saying to let everything through, but stop censoring minor profanity. Runescape needs a more Tif like censor. We should start a petition :D

Putting it frankly- The Runescape censor sucks. Now before this turns into a Rant, let me explain why it sucks. Runescape is intended for 13 year olds and above. Players and Jagex (and don't give me that they love the little kiddies for the money crap, they're breaking the rules) don't want children under the age of 13 who are not mature yet playing the game. The 13+ ruel is their for a reason. I'm not saying that all kids under 13 aren't mature, hey I started playing when i was under 13, but the majority aren't mature. But because of all these young kid, the Runescape censor has gotten way out of hand. Let's explore this scenario- You are walking down the street one day to go and buy some milk. As you walk, you pass a man and hear him mutter "Damn gum" as he steps in someones chewing gum. You disregard and continue on your way. You then pass by a lady walking to her car. She drops a coin down a drain and says quietly to herself "Aww that sucks". Once again you disregard it till you get it and get to the shop. You grab your milk and as you walk out you see a young boy spit out a lollie and say "Yuck, that's crap". Now, you are over the age of 13. Would you have been offended by any of the above situations? If you were, gtfo. Now I understand that there is need for certain words to be censored which are offensive, but seriously, this has gotten WAY out of hand. With all these updates to combat RWT, can't Jagex spend a little time tweaking the censor? I can't count how many times I've been censored ad maybe even reported, for mispelling a word or saying "Man you died? That ***". Anyone else feel like this?
