Tip.It, Runescape. This is goodbye. I am officially retiring. I may return for a short while for the release of summoning, but i wont hang around for long. I've loved my time here at Tip.It and I've decided i will share my final thoughts on Jagex and Runescape. Where Runescapes going I think it's heading in a bad direction. Now, I'm going to compare Jagex right now to World Wrestling Entertainment. I have been an avid fan of the WWE since a young age, but like Jagex, it's moving away from it's longtime fans, or players in Jagex's case, to a younger demographic. For a good example of this, just look at Hotnswoggle. For you non-wrestling fans, he is a LEPRACHAUN (seriously Vince) who is Vicne McMahons, the owner of the WWE's, bastard son. Lately, Vince has been putting Hornswoggle in matches with regular sized wrestlers (hes a dwarf) like last week, Carlito. On the most recent Raw episode, Mr McMahon asked Hornswoggle to get him an ice-cream sandwich. And Hornswoggle wandered around the arena, until he found a door with a sign saying "Free Ice-Cream Sandwiches". He walked in and Carlito was there. Then, here is the ridiculous part. To escape Carlito, Hornswoggle picks up a spray paint can and sprays a black door on the wall. He then runs around Carlito, making a vroom sound and "jumps through the door". Carlito tries and hits the wall. This is sad for the WWe. I think this is what Jagex is slowly becoming. They are turning there game away from the hardcore fans to the "Miniclip generation". Please, Jagex stop. Runescape I still think Runescape is a great game, but the updates aren't what they used to be IMO. When i first started Runescape, I was excited about every update, because pretty much all were great. Now, Jagex has decided to get real tough on cheaters. The 3k stake limit is a real awful example of this. 3k? A cap on staking, not so bad. But 3K! I'm not an avid staker, but 3k every 15 minutes is ridiculous. They are losing more customers than they are eliminating RWT. And the Grand Exchange, an ok idea turned awful. I said in one of my posts how the Grand Exchanged wouldn't ruin merchanting, and it has. Not ruined it, but Jagex has now completely done a swerve on where everyone thought the Grand Exchange was going. Stopping the players from putting up items from 5% above or below the "Market Price". This was a really bad idea IMO. Players would've been able to benefit much more greatly from the GE much more if this limit was not there. Now with all the talk of Jagex delting the player trade option completely, i am disgusted. Runescape was a community, now it is moving further away from that. Jagex, i hope you see the error of your ways and return to the old days. Jagex Jagex, i have one thing to say to you. Listen to the veterans, the Tip.Iters, the well-thought ideas and the brilliarn plans. Turn your game back towards the 13+ age group it is intended for. Lots of players have great ideas, take a look. Incorrect conclusion. Originally, skillers were selling goods slightly under the average price because it was not worth it for them to spend hours sitting on forums. With the GE, they no longer have to spend that time selling therefore they will be able to charge higher prices. The GE also makes it easier for buyers who originally had to buy slightly overpriced if they wanted to get the item they want. What the author presents here is a one-sided conclusion. Yes, it's easier to buy goods at a cheaper price, however it is also easier to sell goods at a higher price. Everyone wins, except the merchants, who were the ones originally facilitating the exchange (but they will NOT be completely destroyed, players who need the cash quickly will not charge so high and merchants can take advantage of that situation). The only exception is the first few weeks, where I think there will be a lot more sellers. This is because people, right now, are holding off on selling goods because they are curious to see what the GE is like but in the long run, prices will be stable and, in fact, a lot more stable than they use to be. That's overly exaggerated and just overly dramatic. The prices will certainly not crash, even if they do fall a bit. Close enough, It only facilitates the selling part but that will lead to more time spent on skills. Note the bias in favor of merchanting Correct, but note an even stronger bias in favor of merchanting This isn't even correct. From what little information we have about G E, there is nothing that suggests that more money will be an input of money into the economy. Speculation based on the assumption that the GE replaces ALL forms of merchanting, which is certainly not true. If so, that implies that cash is being removed from the economy yet you believe it will be added into the economy. If more cash is introduced in the game, that implies a devaluation of the currency and thus an increase in the price of all items. Again this makes no sense with your previous claim The two above claims contradict each other, so not only the author made these claims on mere speculation, they contradict each other and so he is wrong either way. This is just an exaggeration, no comments :roll: First off, this is completely inconsistent with the previous point. If merchants really were destroyed, the price of rares would go down, not up. Second, this is again based on the assumption that this update will put more money in the economy and the assumption the update will cause prices to fall. Considering how both those assumptions contradict each other, this claim is even more invalid. Very poorly written, no economics used to support the claim, it just says "run away! run away! the economy is crashing!". OWNED! I'm sick of people complaining about how the GE will destroy merchanting and the economy! We should wait for it to come out before we go crazy! It's not the second coming for gods sake.
