To halve the cost, always use SC hammers :) Try smithing Adamant Bolts and either selling unf or fletching them yourself (depends on prices, may not be cost-effective anymore) There's always C Balls if all else fails... :?

Yes, Elite Black works ;) They do not attack you if you are not wearing full black/black elite. Once you wield a full black set, they become aggressive and you cannot change equipment until it is dead. There is a safespot, which is the hanging skeleton by the portal. Trap it on the corner, and range freely with black throwing knives. Hope that helps! :)
