  1. We all know what he ment by illegal, so please don't spam a thread, with potential discussion value, with comments such as those. On a much different note, RWT is against the rules for sure, so is botting. Which is the bigger problem? That's debatable to the end of time. There isn't anything JaGex can really do since it is just certain players breaking the rules on a much different game. Steam should not have to watch over their players breaking rules on other games; I'm sure they have their own problems. It's Jagex's duty to monitor their players and ban accordingly. The responsibility lies with JaGex and the other gaming does not need to care in the slightest. EXCEPT HE'S IS RIGHT...HERP DERP? The point is Valve is in not danger of litigation because its not illegal, and people can buy TF2 stuff to trade for RS stuff, thus benefiting valve. Why should they care? Jagex doesn't do jack [cabbage] anyway. Just because you don't like a position M_S don't call it spam...
  2. You might have some bearing...if the person in question did not ALWAYS take Jagex's side...not matter what. Big difference then changing from being a bears fan to a Packers fan. Logic. TIF lacks it.
  3. AMEN! I've been around long enough and then some to have had the chance to log in and play RSC for years now. Just because I finally waited till today, does this mean that I should be punished? (Even though I have never had an interest in it and still don't doesn't mean I shouldn't have a shot at it.) No it isn't. Before the classic cape was even introduced, Jagex said that they were going to open up the servers from time to time so new people could experience the game. Then when the cape released, they said newer people would be able to get it each time they opened up the servers. It's amazing how elitist people can be in this game over simple *POINTLESS* capes. Edit: They should change the description though. "See what the old 'wildy' was like" was added when Runescape still had the wilderness restrictions in RS2. Amen, I love how everyone flips their lid like they are giving out free skill capes or something. Those two capes will still be one of the least worn capes in the game, not because that few people have them like max capes or anything...but just because their stats blow and people prefer stats and showing off over just showing off any day of the week. And this is why I hate the entitled. They don't seem to believe in any kind of "exclusive" content, or the like. Classic cape should, IMO, be only for those who played in the original RSC. You aren't being "punished", the cape has no stats. If everyone has the cape, it has no meaning. Remember the quote "Everyone will be special, and then no one is." You want everyone to be able to have a cape which does nothing outside of looks. You seem to forget that, if anyone is really "punished" its those who've stuck with the game for so long and are finally getting some notice for their loyalty. Its like a holiday reward, you aren't on, or don't do the activity, you don't get the COSMETIC reward. I hate entitled idiots. People who didn't play RSC the first time around should not have, be able to, or ever get the cape. 'Nuf said.
  4. Lol you want an 1m xp reward? I think those big xp rewards are big enough. You have 11m xp, I have over 275m. For you, 1m xp is a lot. For me, not so much. Its all in perspective. I'll wait for a guide. Homework then a game of LoL before class. Sounds epic though! Yeah but the quest doesn't require you to have 200m+ xp does it? So it is a lot for the quest reqs. Totally illogical attempt at an argument. Quest rewards are not tied directly to what is needed for the quest. And half a million xp is around 2-3 hours of skilling, if that.
  5. You'd be using super restores.
  7. Nope. completely false. If you are so bad that you can not flash prayer with rapier, it means you will be leaving it on too long with maul, longer then the game tick you need. Its only easier if you are on bad internet, in which case flashing won't work anyway, or you just fail at flashing. Get CR. CM is bad for training str.
  8. Pretty sure range will hold you up more then melee. Using claws, spec restores (if you want, I do for lolz) and whip+defender, they go down fast. OFC not as fast as rapier, but still the summon/prayer is a bigger deal.
  9. +1. People quit. They don't like changes, they don't like what the company does, they don't have time, different priorities, etc. In fact, an article on how change, whether its a change in the game, something that happened in game, or out, or a change to the company, and how it affects people starting/restarting/stopping games would have been far more interesting, and elucidating, and wouldn't have seemed so narcissistic.
  10. 92 fletching and a few cooking lvls so far. All I'll work on unless I go do some agility/thieve/rc
  11. According to grimy is like, PC speed, internet speed, and server speed or something. I have a kick-butt PC but I'm on WIFI, so I get more lag then on a wired connecton.
  12. There are several grenwall bots out right now, so I'd just dump them @500 before prices crash further. I have heard reports of people leaving offers for spikes in at 100 each and having them actually fill. I refuse to believe they will stay at 500 gp or less for good. Making extreme ranging potions is some of the absolute best herblore experience in game. Much more exp per hour than making any of the other extremes. Not only are they more exp per potion, you can also make 27 pots per inventory. It should cost more than making any of the other extremes, but with grenwalls this cheap it actually costs less. If the best herblore experience is also the cheapest then it will not take long for everyone to start training herblore that way and then suddenly there will be large demand for spikes again. That is just my logical guess though. I'm an actor not an economist. Although extreme pots are untradable - they have value to. Who only wants 5k extreme range pots? Simple. People who only want XP. I have a few hundred x range, and 1200+ (4) ovls. It'll be a while til I need more. If I wanted pure xp, I'd just make x range. And yes, unlike WoW, in RS it is FAR easier to stockpile masses of items.
  13. They added one new potion as a week's worth of updates. ONE. Might as well just have added it as a "In other news" update together with something else. The potion is great, but it shouldn't fill one week's worth of updates. Runescape is still one of the online MMORPG games which gets updated the most often. Perhaps we should be happy that we get an update overall? Try to be more positive guys. Updating most often=most updates in total, or update weight. LoL has a new champion almost every week (thats a MOBA though). WoW has massive patches, but further apart. I prefer WoWs method TBH.
  14. wo finally some team hitting average speed flrs shame they have to die so much though so much for keyers knowing how to reduce damage and survive without a plate They dont care about that because the time needed to save your life means the floor is that much slower, making it inefficient. Faster to die then to look for 3 minutes for an altar.
  15. Evidence? Actually, speaking from personal knowledge, they are actually quite safe lol.
  16. I got an uncut sapphire from harold.
  17. Updates about once a day. (^to the above)
  18. Ever heard of emergent gameplay? Can you say that skele mummies were designed for the express purpose of being chinned/barraged? Same with rock lobsters? Can you say cave crawlers were designed to be farmed for effigies? How about 15-20 minute dungeons? You see, you can't prove that any of those were designed for the purpose which RS players use them for, nor can you even really argue with any credibility that they were designed as such. The fact that players use them for these methods is emergent gameplay. A bug is different. The infamous PKing bug, for instance, or finding 200m in your bank magically. Thus, you can't say "obviously it wasn/wasn't designed for this" without having an authority, or some credibility. Its not obvious. Heck, you CAN still prayer flash, just as efficiently as before. Thus, your premise is really an opinion disguised as a fact. I can't prove that prayer flashing was designed, and you can't prove that it wasn't. However, I can prove that using it is emergent gameplay, within the rules, and thus is in no need of fixing. Therefore, we can conclude that, while you may retain your opinion, it is, in fact, incorrect, and thus you are wrong. To any idiot who says "Well I still have my opinion..." ok, fine. You can have an opinion. But that doesn't make it right unless you can defend it with logic, and sources, something which the claim I address does not do.
  19. I'm a proud elitist. Guess its DGS
  20. Probably do some smithing/fletching/cooking with wines. Money is easy for me to make, its more about being enjoyable and efficient with time now.
  21. How is DGing now? Where is a high levle DG'er to train, or with whom? Are people still as awful as they were before? Last time I did a DG was in January, I know the change where you can do different floors if you've done that one already, etc, but anything else major? Probalby won't go for 120, but I might go for 112/115 if its good.
  22. "child" is anyone under 18. Plenty of 14-17 year olds are having sex...sometimes with adults, and sending nude pictures, etc. Not condoning it, but your lack of understanding all this makes your wild claim ludicrous.
  23. According to woox's latest TD vid, actually CR is the greatest DPS weapon for TDs. But for TDs you kind of have to figure out a pattern and all. I'd get CR, its best overall.
  24. This thread is still around? O.0. I gave my ely to a friend, but I might come back now. Not sure though...
  25. It's not worth your time doing so. Dark bows are 240k. Whips are 700k. Staff of light costs 1.3m (presumably only because you can't camp that). In other words, slaying for slayer drops is pointless They've lowered in price due to time. Originally they were great drops. Saying that it isn't a reward now would imply that drops shouldn't be released for Slayer at all because eventually down the line they'll become almost useless. Dumb argument. Past isn't relevant to the current situation, in this case. Inherency states that there is a problem NOW. Whether slayer was good in the past DOES NOT MATTER. As of right now, its inefficient to slay, you are better off 1.) MHing or 2.) Camping the best xp/hr gp/hr monster. Plan: Change how slayer works, uncampable monsters, slayer only buffs, non-tradable items. Advantage one: Removes the GE factor, bot factor is lessened, and adds some spice to slayer, among other things. Solvency: Just about any high level slayer on this forum, such as bruno and I, I know. TL;DR Whips could have been 100m a year ago. But that doesn't make slayer AS IT IS NOW efficient, or lacking in the "needs to be upgraded" department. Don't try and use even mediocre arguments when you have so many problems with your own logic, please for Saradomin's sake...
