  1. Efficiency as defined by stone: The most outcome (cash/gp/other/etc) for the least expended (wasted time/time spent/cash spent/etc). If you are making gold at 5m/hr, and gaining an extra 100k xp/hr in a skill where otherwise the base speed would be 100k/hr (so 200k/hr) for a method that costs 2m/hr, you are doubling your speed for 2/5 what you can make in an hour. That is being more efficient. (whether or not its most efficient is another matter). Factoring in "fun"/ sustainability (without going insane on a certain grind etc) are separate factors, important to consider yes but not at all related to efficiency. If being inefficient enables me to spend 2x as long training a skill without stopping play time, and I have that time IRL to spend, for a method that is 3/5 as fast as being more efficient, then I am gaining more xp overall. That doesn't make me efficient. Don't say it is, you'd be wrong. Its a cost/benefit analysis. For some people, 100% of the time being the most efficient is the most fun, and then the choice is clear, be efficient. Some people pick and choose, knowing that being efficient is faster, but they sacrifice some speed or money to get their goal faster, or in a more enjoyable/sustainable way. Others just don't get a crap and play however they want. I don't think any one of these is "right" or "wrong" as those as more moral terms. However, I think a person saying that their way is "better" when its not the most efficient, unless they point out or state somehow (instead of just inferring) that they are giving up efficiency to have more fun is just plain illogical. Maybe you enjoy it more, that doesn't make it better. Slaying with a DFS is never "good" in terms of efficiency (assuming max gear etc) but if using a DFS is what makes you slay rather then quit playing, use a DFS. Just don't think its better, and expect people to laugh, as you'll appear to be a noob. TL;DR-efficiency, outside of the method of calculating xp/hr gp/hr etc (scientific) is NOT open for debate. When efficiency should be utilized, and how, is.
  2. Thats like 2 days worth of candy.
  3. Lying is always an option. It often solves your problems. Ignore them, get new friends, hire bodyguards IRL to keep them off you. Or wear a disguise.
  4. You could fly economy you know We'd still have to take time off classes/work, which not a lot of people can afford to do. Or would want to. Blizzard announces new games/expansions with trailers etc. jagex doesn't lol
  5. Or make skilling pay off somehow, some way to get rid of wines/broad arrows, etc. Some reason to train those skills.
  6. O i have a naga. And I just bought a headset
  7. "Rs has been updated. Reload page." WTF
  8. Or by fixing PvP (Better safe PvP with some type of reward) Death in combat (graves are idiotic.) Because bosses are so much more complex, or at least require more then one combat style, by nature one needs to risk more to be competitive. Dying @ DKS used to cost me3-5m. Now it'd cost me 40m and 8m worth of DG xp. Items kept on death is majorly broken, especially when lag is a major factor, as well as just the plain unresponsive nature of the game. Also, no easier way to do complex tasks, like switch gear sets. Mousekeys plz? Game is broke.
  9. The silliness is your assumption that I am trying to prove something by writing in a way that I enjoy. As for what the audience wants: I wouldn't be on the EP if I had to write what they want to see, because it's often not what I want to write about. I retain that you, as a forum member with no other position, are in no position to evaluate what the EP should publish. The audience's tastes are too broad to be able to satisfy everybody, and I am afraid more seem to have enjoyed the article judging from feedback. The fact you didn't like the writing stye means nothing to what the EP will or will not publish. This is the attitude I HATE about TIF staff. Anyone can evaluate your writing, and whether or not it should have been published. The article was boring, according to some, too deep for the topic it covered according to others, and simply useless or uninteresting to yet others. I don't think, personally, I would have published it. The article covered an interesting topic, but was presented poorly for the audience, according to taste, etc, as evidenced by the previous posts. I am NOT saying it was poorly written as far as style/topic etc. Rather that for the audience, it wasn't written well for the audience.
  10. I think that ^THIS^ pretty much nails it ... They didnt file that case in US District Court for shiggles. It was filed on June 28, 2011 - almost 4 months ago. Before Runefest. Before Jiblix. I fully expect some assclowns will test Jagex and end up as Does. In the end, it doesn't necessarily matter whether or not these threats, with respect to legal proceedings, are idle or earnest. They do provide some very important aspects, namely: 1. It's a formal services of notice to those parties against which they may take legal proceedings; and 2. It's likely just enough to throw a scare into those individuals who would be "spooked" into ceasing and desisting from botting in the future -- i.e. those individuals who thought they were "safe" to bot because "Jagex would never know they did it". Obviously, Jagex doesn't stand much of a chance of enforcing U.S. law on a gold-farm operating out of a Chinese Prison (*snerk*), and any idle threat aimed at those "players" will plainly go unheded and ignored. That said, the typical "13-year-old teenaged boy" who botted his account to get "epic PKer stats", and who's resident in the U.S., and isn't in "pre-law" doesn't know any of that. All he knows is he got an email from Jagex that told him if he bots again, his ass is grass. In the end, it's the 13-year-old teenaged boy that Jagex wants back and playing as a "legit" player so this is an opportunity for Jagex to throw a scare into them, warn them about botting, warn them about banning, and not lose their paying membership fees. Yes, I guess, but I'd imagine that most non-adults would know they are safe-they aren't legally responsible as of yet. And I'd bet that a vast majority of the bots are not individuals botting, but rather gold farmers, and those botting accounts to sell. Its more mass production the individual effort. Granted, it may scare some people away, but its really a laughable attempt to try and enforce U.S Copyright law 1.) Internationally and 2.) Against U.S Botters.
  11. Or zaaps. They mean the same thing.

  14. Th grind is part of what makes RS RS. If you want metagame/end game play Rift/WoW or another MMO. RS is based around the grind, its a fact of life.
  15. I can confirm that this is an official statement from Jagex to the recipient. Please note that there are no website links in the main body of the e-mail. Should you receive any e-mails that contain the above text with website links or additional information, they are likely to be phishing e-mails and should be ignored. Kind regards, Mod Timo iBot = Nexus = Rsbots.net Threatening to sue lol Doesn't mean dick TBH. I'm going into IP law, and the DMCA, as well as all of America's copyright/IP laws are so convoluted/messed up ATM that this really won't do much. I doubt Jagex would have any chance at all.
  16. But can they prevent new bots is the real question.
  17. Were on earth do you get your figures for anything? I have not died solo MHing in years. Its just a matter of care and good internets. All his problem is is either a lack of skill/knowledge of prayer switching or using some wrong method.
  18. I'm assuming this is going to fail, at least not be as sucessful as Jagex things. But we'll see
  19. Woke up on Saturday to one of the debaters in my hotel room playing "Mr Blue Sky" by ELO. It was epic, and made my day. Epic song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98P-gu_vMRc
  20. Also, this solves the problems of certain items not being LS-able. Also of use when one of the persons has better gear/stats.
  21. A Kritik of what? As a rule, TIF users are more logical, but also more prone to use logical fallacies then other RS users in game or on the RSOF. Ye, the first article was boring. But I'm curious what type of K you'd have been interested in, as I might write one lol. A kritik is, to overgeneralize, a challenging of the mindset/viewpoint of a stance before the proposed action can/should be taken, among other things. Example: I ran the "F-ing K" at my last debate when the Neg dropped the F bomb a few times. It basically says that the F bomb is the linguistic equivilant of a nuclear bomb, it degrades women by exalting the cultures "male dominated" view of sex, and the impact was something bad (I forgot exactly what the MPX and terminal impact was-I'm tired lol) that's a very general view of one type of K. Perhaps a better example would be the "whiteness" K we use in debate. The team argues that the debate community is "white" (generally rich/privilaged/socially higher up, etc) and as such the resolution can not be enacted before this problem is addressed. As such, until the debate community is so "non-white" that the resolution does not require X to be used (In this case using the USFG as the actor) that Y bad things will occur/are occurring etc. I never use this K, so I'm not as familiar with it, and it has many layers and things which can be changed.
  22. The website has a ,tk ending. Only an idiot would be fooled. People are idiots, thats why people get scammed. /thread.
  23. im back from debate. I won awards.
  24. Not surprised. I DID NOT vote for RS. I voted League of Legends.
