I disagree (to an extent) Runescape originally had the popularity to create fan-sites, but in a hypothetical world in which they hadn't been made, would Runescape have achieved the longevity which it has? That is a non-argument. We don't know what would happen in this "hypothetical" world because it doesn't exist. Its similar to the anthropomorphic argument for intelligent design.

Avatar may have inherent value (Like rs, as Obt. said) but after overplaying/overwatching in this case it loses some part of fun. Thats not inherent though.

Yeah me too. With so much dmg soaking possibilities, everything that mattered to elys and divines will all be forgotten. Who says additional damage soaking ability will not be available to either the ely or the divine, or both? If the damage soaking is something added to shields, then it may well be able to be added to any shield.

I'd also like to point out that I was not comparing myself to any one person. In fact, there are several hundred thousand people with certain skills higher then me. I don't care. Its irrelevant. I'm simply pointing out that there are some people who are "better", which I already defined previously, then other players. I simply used myself as an example. I didn't do it because I thought I was/am of more value then other people, rather to prove my point that some people are "better" then others. If you'd care to try and disprove that, instead of bandying insults and slinging mud, please feel free. There is little left for me to try and said, I've made my point, and you aren't stating anything else which can be LOGICALLY argued. In addition, there are things which require skill, safe PvP, dangerous hybriding, certain bosses (dag kings multibrid, for example) as well as DG, which most defiantly requires skill and knowledge. Is is for this reason why I train DG, and hunt dag kings, compared to training fletching or cooking. But I digress.

You see, I can link you to the high scores, showing my position on them, as well as Jagex's figures of the number of players in RS, and can thus derive in what percentile I am. Bank, is slightly different. I can show you mine, and if a vote were taken, I believe it would be greater then the majority of scapers. In addition, compared to the bank pics of hundreds of users which I have seen on numerous fansite, as well as in game, I can say compared to that base I am again in the higher percentile. This isn't a matter of "pride" or "worth". Its simply a matter of being able to back up my statements. If you'd like to try and prove or disprove my statements, feel free. It is partially the increase in self proclaimed experts which leads a downward spiral. People who make statements such as "dfs is better for slayer since it has +2 more str) and "CLs is better its more accurate and hits higher" when they are unwilling to prove their point are the ones who often lead topics off course, without adding anything to the discussion except for people trying to prove the ignorant wrong, with most often the person refusing to leave their baseless assumption.

Define grind. Do some things take longer? yes. Does that make it a grind? No. It will take me a few months for 120 DG, but its not a grind.

This is the utmost stupidity that really drives me crazy. People assuming things that are not even close to being true. For the record, efficiency doesn't exclude fun, you can have fun and be efficient at the same time, and more often than not, being more efficient allows you to have more fun. In other words, people aren't efficient because they hate having fun. I agree. Efficiency doesn't exclude fun, but I didn't say that it does. Often its not one or the other but sometimes it is and at those times I choose fun over efficiency. You're still wrong. You said fun beats efficiency, which infers that having fun excludes efficiency. It may not be what you meant, but it is what you inferred. To the above: What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are you calling RS "mind numbing" and "grinding"? Maybe it is for you, however, that does not mean it is for everyone. You make an assumption, without basis, and use that assumption to build your whole argument on. No one with even a modicum of knowledge of logical reasoning or debate skills will take you serious, yet these types of arguments are the ones which are so common on the internet. Truly illuminating. Not to mention, just by comparison, its rather easy to see who has better stats, isn't it? This isn't a politically correct high school, where everyone is "equal" and no one can be "better" then anyone else. Nor is much of real life. There are people who are better at (not better people, that's a whole different issue) certain things. I am better then the vast majority of RS in certain things, whilst there are people who are far better then I am, both stat, knowledge, and bank wise. I believe you are thinking of perhaps a different term, maybe haughty? There is nothing wrong with being elite, or an elitist. I won't DG with most people under 100, not because I am "selfish" or "stuck up". They are simply not as good, and I have more fun going with people who are actually GOOD at what I am training. As a matter of fact, you'll find few people more helpful or knowledgeable then these "elites" whom you so disdain. XPX has an excellent guide, and often offers superb advice. Grimy has spent numerous hours on his spreadsheets, etc.
