  1. If you don't want to do all that mining have your kingdom mine the coal for you. That will put you much closer to a break even point. As will runecrafting your own nats. I've done about 75% steel platebodies and 25% cannonballs before (with kingdom mined coal), which I figured gave me a very small profit.
  2. I was going to go fish a lava eel for the fire beacon mini game. I have thrown away my slimy rod a long time ago. Gerrant, the guy at the Port Sarim fish store, won't however give me bleamish oil. I can't even get a bl. oil thread to appear. ANy suggestions?
  3. I'd say stop being so combat oriented. Play more of the mini games or other activities that are enjoyable and find a good chat. I've played for 3 years and have only one skill over 90. I'm definately poor for a player of 3 years. But I enjoy myself every time I log on and don't fret about the high scores.
  4. I'd recommend crafting at Port P furnace. You don't have to deal with opening and closing the door at every time like you do at Edgeville. Sorry, can't tell you times though.
  5. I would recommend maples all the way. Burn them all and then get yourself a trimmed skill cape for your two level 99 skills.
  6. Tears of Guthix would be my first recommendation. You'll find that the weekly experience rewards add up over time. The managing your kingdom quests are tremendously useful for the overall financial success of your character. I have to agree though that doing quest after quest will make them tedious.
  7. I would recommend using a clan chat to help you find star crash sites. I have had good results for star crashes and penguin spotting using "Forsakenmage" clan chat. This is the unofficial Tip.It chat, with many of its users on world 99. Members using other worlds will often post their star finds too, resulting in many Tip.Iters quickly coming to aid.
  8. How many you lose to impurity is not affected by how many or how little you choose to smelt. I regularly hit the keys - 3 3 enter - choosing to smelt 33 items, since the 3 is the closest number to the enter key. You are not going to get 14 iron ores every time. Sometimes you will get more, sometimes you will get less. That being said, I would heavily recommend the Knight's Sword Quest as soon as possible. THis should allow you to switch to steel smithing and avoid losing your resources with nothing to show for it.
  9. Melee is much faster. Use the Hellhounds by Ard. and bring 20 stolen cakes from the marketplace. By stealing the cakes you won't mind losing the food as much. Also try to find a busy world so that the Hellhounds respawn faster. Range is safer, but will make the task very very long.
  10. I would mine iron ore at the mining spot by Yanille. Its close to the bank and will be relatively fast experience. You can start mining the mithril there when you hit level 55. I would recommend hoarding all of the iron until you reach level 60. Then switch to the mining guild and mine coal for all that iron ore. Alternatively I would mine gold at the Between a Rock and a Hard Place or at the crafting guild, that is if you have access to either. If you get bored of those locations go to the Al-K mining spot. There's gold, silver, iron and coal there for the taking. Its further from the bank, but diversity is nice. My third suggestion is to log onto a good chat and join in on mining the new falling stars. They give decent experience and good rewards.
  11. I've spent several hours chasing penguins, and gotten some good experience for my efforts. The circus was fun too. Although I did enjoy myself, and consider it time well spent I still have to give this update a huge thumbs down. Another update that continues to pander to the 10 to 13 year old players was definately not what I was hoping for. As a mature player in a multi generation runescape playing household I tend to cringe everytime I see that a new update is coming. I realize that there are many young players who play responsibly and maturely but I would prefer not encouraging underage players to play. Where are the updates for the older players?
  12. I'd say fire giants are the best, followed by hell hounds.
  13. If you are able to use the fairy ring to access the abyss then save your money and kill some low level abyssal creatures. Rune crafting pouches are a frequent drop. They only drop a size you don't already have, and you can just fight the level 9 monster (which I think is the abyssal leech)
  14. I was on "forsakenmage" last night and they were quite active about star searching on world 99.
  15. I got mine from killing wolves on white wolf mountain.
  16. I'd recommend dust devils. They are above average charm droppers. They have lots of health, a low defense and don't hit for too much damage. They are quite plentiful and easy to reach in the chaos tunnels. Their drops are good, with the slight chance of getting an amazing drop. They are multi combat, but are not aggressive. This makes them great for bringing in a summoning creature to help you fight (or a bunyip). They also drop uth. kebabs, which heal 19. They're one of my favorite slayer assignments.
  17. The higher gardens do have better herbs. The guides that are out for them list the herbs. The guides used to be stickied for quick reference.
  18. I would recommend the Family Crest dungeon room on the busiest world you can find. If you find a world that is close to packed that no one is currently slaying hell hounds, then they will respawn at a reasonable rate. Last time I went, I went to a slow world and caught up on my high alching between hell hounds.
  19. Rune is still the best F2P armor, along with tHe stronghold of security boots and the gloves from the Stronghold of Safety. The Safety place is just south of edgeville, and it should take you about 15 minutes to get the gloves and the small xp reward. Green Dhide is still best for ranging. There are several new items that are rewards for the Fist of Guthix mini game that you might want to look up on Tip.It as well.
  20. The grand exchange says there is no such thing because monkey nuts and bars are not tradeable. All nontradeable items are not recognized as existing at the GE.
  21. The tele tabs are great. The omni talisman will allow you to get rid of all your tiaras in your bank account. As well if you are members you can earn 200k worth of pure essence in under an hour by cashing in your points for pure essence.
  22. You need to do the Fremmy Isles and the Fremmy Trials to access the Neitiznot wheel. I would recommend the Lumby wheel. Its not the closest, but it it usually the busiest. Spinning large quantities isn't all that interesting, and it would give you time to chat with people.
  23. I would recommend killing the trolls in the caves which are at the enterance to the dwarven city (Keldagrim). This is just to the east of Rellekka, and is well marked on the Tip.It map. This will allow you to quickly leave the trolls and go to the bank in the dwarven city to restock up on food if you need it.
  24. I would recommend doing the Knight's Sword Quest. Its good for 12725 smithing xp, and will give you a good start on your smithing levels. This should allow you to skip over smithing bronze, and you can start smelting and smithing iron objects.
