  1. Black knives could get expensive. I've used iron knives several times on Fire Giant assignments, and found that it gets a little boring. I usually bring a bow or my whip to switch it up for a couple of giants when things get slow. Bronze, iron and steel can be purchased in large quantities from the Thief's Den in Burthorpe.
  2. Switch over to raw birds from iron ore as soon as possible if you want to save money. Raw birds can be bought from the ogre cook at the spa, which is right beside the bank. You could also buy your raw beef from the cook while you're there. Harpoon for the green charms is anopther inexpensive choice.

You do not need to be fishing for fish rain to work. I could not get it to work when I was inside though.
  4. I finished the quest earlier today. You can use it for summoning as long as your summoning level is at least 30.
  5. It might be a bug, and therefore a no-no to perform, but I for one actually think about bone burying speed. When mass slaying some easy opponent to quickly finish a slayer assignment (such as ghouls) the bones around your character quickly pile up. Bone burying definately slows you down.
  6. I'd say cut and bank willows until you've raised enough for your dragon axe. Then switch over to maples.
  7. I'd alternate between slaying chickens and hanging out in the graveyard on a busy world in the wilderness (with very minimal equipment on). The boneyard had many bone respawns, plus 2 big bone respawns. Or you could start storing all of your big bones in the bank until the day you become a member.
  8. Spinning flax into bowstrings is an excellent way of raising crafting without spending any money. If you have completed hand in the sand you can get 92 buckets of sand everyday. ALong with that you can get 80 seedweed from Arien (the spelling might be wrong on his name), the guy who is the merchant on the dock of Catherby every 24 hours. Then you can blow glass for a profit as well.
  9. You do not need to bait your traps (except for the creatures south of the Ogre Spa). In fact, you would probably find that the time spent baiting your traps would actually slow you down.
  10. You might want to rethink your strategy. If you're raising your mining with the goal of the quest cape then you might want to be thinking ahead about the 69 smithing that you will need for the Rocking Out Quest. I'd recommend mining and banking large quantities of coal and mithril from the mining guild, and then iron from north of yanille. This should provide you with a good inventory in your bank as you continue to work towards that quest cape.
  11. However if you did collect all your own herbs, the reselling price would greatly exceed the cost of buying vials and secondary ingredients. Happy farming!
  12. You can cut 6 branches half an hour after you check the health of your willow tree, and then 6 more every half an hour after that. You could also buy them at the Grand Exchange.
  13. I'd recommend cannonballs over knives. The price of iron knives has dropped down recently, probably due to the market being flooded by people trying to get lvl 69 smithing. When the quest came out knives were 35 gold each, last weekend they had dropped to 29 each on the GE. I would also recommend using some of the cannonball profit to subsidize the cost of making steel platebodies, so that you can level faster. As well, don't forget the blast furnace as a cheaper option for levelling up.
  14. I found that I have always received alot of higher level herb seeds from Cave Horrors.
  15. I'd have to say that the proboscis, dropped by the mosquitos are the most useless item in the game. They are neither entertaining or informative, and have no use. They are worth nothing at the store either.
