The other day, got an email about someone getting into my github account. Went to reset the password today (there's nothing there, so I wasn't fussed), but according to github, I don't have an account with that email... The password looked like "|:.ap1d5LUw#!QL=*blWYXvIH", just a randomly generated password from my password manager. How in the world could someone have gotten in? And why just delete it lmao. Edit: Oh - the email is incorrect on github. It's got a period in it, but the actual address doesn't. Weird.

And in this same multiverse, there's places you'll never go/people you'll never be, because those choices arent presented to you. And largely, those choices are predicated on your starting conditions. And when we lump it all as personal responsibility, it ignores the very real imbalances in opportunities in our society. In my view, anyway, when you talk about personal responsibility as if it's the be all end all to success and happiness, it becomes easier to not work to better other people, and to not try and make a more fair and just society.

It's got a bunch of random links, so I'd guess it's a trash site for pushing gold selling sites up higher in search engine lists using keywords and whatnot. Idk if the references to specific people is helpful, but I suppose they just use a spider to crawl these and other forums to find relative search terms, so... It's a fun game of find who is "relevant" enough to be featured. [hide] Tylerelyt - No Goonstalf - Yeah! abc1230 - yes Halo2proman - no Death Miasma - no Dax - No D.V. Devnull - No. I'm sad about this one. He has such a strong presence on this forum. [/hide]

I'm so close to 27 can it wait a year so I can't get drafted pls I would say the odds are low that you'll get drafted just based on how we fight wars nowadays, but I recently learned that the US military is understaffed by several thousand as it is, when WW3 *isn't* happening, so who knows. The country with largest military budget is understaffed? Yes. They can't get citizens to sign up for the military, and there's not much more they can offer than "free college in America aka hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt avoided" to incentivize people. Plus, why offer more money to get people to join when instead you can have chronic and severe sleep deprivation from all your soldiers and get the same thing?

Is it so much to ask for comments at the top of methods explaining what they do? Is that an excessive expectation? Because it seems like no one does that, and I don't understand why, because the moment I learned to do that, my code became 100% more readable and I immediately understood the benefit... I'm so tired of asking what code does at work

To be fair, I don't think most self taught programmers have anywhere near the skill Veiva has at organizing and designing code. I imagine you get a lot more poor programming practices out of someone who never had to show their code to someone else. That being said, the classes I took in college didn't really teach me about writing maintainable, object-oriented code, beyond just teaching me what classes and interfaces are. I'm constantly aware of how I don't have those skills and how hard it is for me to write well structured code. So a magic paper doesn't really guarantee that either. "Hey, while I was watching your cat while you were out of town, she was happier than with you and didn't meow at all and wasnt needy and she needs multiple people to give her attention and you don't love her &c &c &c"

A former friend guilt tripped me into giving them my cat at the beginning of the year, and the paperwork I mailed them ~a month ago just came back in the mail with something about it being unclaimed. I'm really tired of this whole thing, I just wish I could stop getting reminders every time I think I'm done interacting with them.

Count Down from 30k
I mean, I posted 20+ games a few months back, and the only ones people posted in were both counting games. Counting games are boring. You wanna make fg more active, you gotta post on things that are more fun. 21266 Edit: By a few months, apparently I meant years. I posted those in 2016. Holy shit...

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
If this is a topic you're particularly interested in, I would recommend Elizabeth Brake's Minimizing Marriage. In it, she coins the term amatonormativity, which is basically the idea that romantic, monogamous relationships hold more value than familial or platonic relationships, and everyone should be looking for one. It's a phrase that's fairly popular in the ace & aro communities, for probably obvious reasons, but I don't see it much outside of there. But I think it's pretty relevant to this discussion. Here's a blog post she made that summarizes it, if you're looking for the tl;dr version. As for why society encourages monogamous relationships, if you believe tumblr, it's because nuclear families are easier to exploit than other familial structures under capitalism.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Hey, here's not a surprise: heteronormativity is shitty, even for straight people.

On the subject of cars, mine wouldnt start tonight. Random guy saw me having troubles, listened to it crank for 5 seconds, and immediately knew I just needed to press the gas pedal to get it to start. I tried googling how in the world he knew that, or how it even helped, but google thinks I'm a dunce that knows nothing about cars (accurate)
