  1. I can't wait for cross country training to start in 2 weeks. -.- Our easiest day is about 6 miles at 7 minute pace - and we get one of those about once every two weeks.
  2. Awesome job! I loved it. Now post your 6000 word report :P
  3. Glenbard East? Stalker  Yes. We're the team in the black uniforms. http://www.flotrack.org/videos/coverage/view_video/237131/338160-3a-4-x-800
  4. Our 4x800 won state with 7:47. We basically just stayed on or in first and let our last guy outkick the others. Breaks the 33 year old school record by 8 seconds. *I didn't run, I was just the alternate*
  5. Glad to hear you're getting started
  6. That water looks extremely brushy. I don't know if that's normal or not. Other than that, it's awesome
  7. GOING TO STATE@ as an alternate  Ran a 4:39 mile, wasn't a great race. Our first lap was faster than the fast heat, and I was 2:10 at the half. If I paced better I could've ran sub 4:30, I think. I did make up about 60 meters in the last 100 though (just shows I had too much left).
  8. I'll be running the mile at sectionals; hoping for a sub 4:40 time. It's pretty likely that I'm a team alternate for the 4x800, 4x400, or both, so I'll be skipping two days of school, enjoying free food courtesy of the wonderful taxpayers, and watching some awesome races  I really shouldn't get my hopes up though.
  9. Our varsity 800 was ridiculous, my friend was seeded 7th with a 2:00.3
  10. Running all year really does help. It sucks running in the winter, but if you get some nice warm long underwear and some windbreaking shell, you'll warm up fast enough. Start out slower and focus a bit more on distance. Try a 3 mile run one day. Also, it seems to me that although a lot of the time I feel out of breath, you can really just keep running and it won't get worse. Breathing heavily isn't a bad thing :P @Haa_Haa- that's a decent starting pace, but not really race-worthy. Our entire 4x400 team runs your pace for 10x the distance. I'm not a sprinter, so I'm not sure how well you'd do in any of the sprints.
  11. Take a look through these. Ranging potions are actually almost 25 gp/xp; I'm not sure where nightshade got his numbers. If you can, try to use unfinished pots. They're more expensive but save so much time that you can easily make back the extra money.
  12. 2:00.8 800 for the win @ fresh/soph conference@@@@@@@@yay@@@@ Also PR'd a 54.1 in the 400, but could've run a lot faster. I cramped up terribly at the 200 after eating 5 fistfuls of too much goldfish. My pace was 52.0 then  Random thought, but Evan Jager is amazing.
  13. Bye spec  Malk is nub.
  14. Great advice (this is exactly what I did). Otherwise, be sure to bring magpies when possible. Both of the advanced courses have a conveniently located summoning obelisk, and you can use 6-8 magpies with one inventory (if you use all 30 spaces of theirs). I made 10m this way from 90-99.
  15. First, go with a real running shoe instead of a crosstrainer. They're built differently and are much better for your legs. From there, it's honestly a matter of choice. Basically, the more expensive shoes last longer. Every brand has a different type of fit and feel. I personally love Brooks, since they last me 1000+ miles, actually fit my narrow feet, and are cushy <3: However, they're $120 a pair from an average shop.
  16. Use the infinite run pool in Oo'glog first; it cuts the time in 1/3. Also, it's only triple charms, not quadruple.
  17. Makes super antis a good deal less useful then  damn progress... Rapier + rune defender would destroy them even faster... and if you have a massive stock of superantifires, why the heck not? Why not in general, rather? If you can use them, super antifires are basically free xp. Right now I'm camping for 50, forcing Shahdie to make me a proth spear and plate, and figuring stuff out from there. Is RSOF an okay way to find teams for a 120? I've heard it's decent, but most of the threads I see are for 130+
  18. Your coaches don't sound like they've ever ran in their lives, honestly. Running a race with an injury is usually just a recipe for disaster, and will often injure you more. No real running coach should be telling you to "man up". Most runners do plenty of that as it is. I don't really like running in medleys, since the entire race basically relies on the 800 runner. 1 or 2 seconds in a 200 or 400 won't make much of a difference; a good 800 runner will. Tough luck to get injured and be in that leg  I'm really lucky to have a coach who ran track in high school and college (he was actually a 4:06 miler). He's great about dealing with injuries and such.
  19. 4:45 mile today; then ran a 55.1 400 with about 5 minutes rest. Not bad for a Tuesday meet
  20. I'll get around to forcing you to smith stuff for me eventually  ...If I ever manage to get 50 Dungeoneering and another 460k attack xp
  21. Sorry I had to bail on you so early. You rock <3:
  22. I've always rather wanted to learn, as I'm a rock climber and a runner currently. However, I'm running very competitively in XC and Track and don't want a stupid mistake to mess that up, and I have no idea where to begin  I do know that David Belle wins
  23. They'd all exist just fine without the US. The colonists didn't come to to Americas to begin secretly bio-engineering new plants - they found them already cultivated in many areas by indigenous peoples. (We're just talking about the country, not completely wiping the continent off the face of the Earth). If the English never colonized this area, it would likely be an extension of Mexico or another Spanish colony that fought for freedom. I'd be interested to see what the globalized pop culture would end up looking like without the distinctive influences of the US.
