Kid, you're a Noob, Nerd.
Dissing them back doesn't work, they are used to it as most times they themselves are bullied in real life; they're conditioned to take insults. Just saying "lol" usually ensues in a rage-induced wall of slanderous text; which is for da luls. :)

Capital in F2P is useless?
That quote just proves you have no idea how much cash you can make in f2p, let alone p2p. In free play, the best methods cap at around 500k an hour. In members, the most consistent method is 3m an hour, and the best is 300m (Corp sigils) but requires LOTS of luck. This doesn't even factor merching. I have 99 Rc, over 14m EXP in it. I used to make over 1.5m an hour years ago. I know how to make money. I could have used that example if I wanted (although you make much less with nats today). It was simply an example to show how higher levels in RS are useless for F2p as compared to P2p.

Kid, you're a Noob, Nerd.
So I was browsing the RSOF today I came upon a thread in which someone was discussing whether the terms "Noob", "Nerd", "Kid", or "umadbrah?" offended anyone. This really used to bug me a lot pre-puberty, I can relate to little kids being impetuous and acting upon their emotions, but it's annoying either way. :| Anyways, I was wondering if these aforementioned words annoy any of you? To be honest, none of these words annoy me anymore, but at one point they all did. I thought for some reason they degraded my esteem, or something, Yeah, stupid I know. ;) Here's an awesome quote I found from someone who posted on that thread, the last few sentences cracked me up :-P ^ -'Wrthlss Noob' Yes his name is quite ironic. Discuss? :)

01-Dec-2010 - Do No Evil
RS Wiki reckons at higher thieving levels you can get around 300k xp/hr, though it's still early days so that figure might change a bit. Really? I think Zarfot's RSOF guide said the max was around 410k.

Capital in F2P is useless?
The higher you train your f2p skills, the better xp/hr you get while dungeoneering. This becomes very noticeable in the higher levels of dg. This is an indisputable fact. By no means are high f2p skill levels miniscule. On my level 135, I have 1 dungeoneering; and have no experience in that aspect, so I suppose. But 70 fishing makes you 50k an hour, and 99 makes you 70k an hour. Not much difference compared to P2P, where you can make around 375k an hour. This is just one example.

Capital in F2P is useless?
All combat skills: PvP + Fist of Guthix + dungeoneering. Runecrafting: GOP. Dungeoneering: Rewards + resource dungeons. Pretty much all other skills: dungeoneering. If you exclude dungeoneering... yea... I guess you're right xD Skills are still useful when you cannot become a member for a certain amounts of time though. Sure they may not be the most useful options, but they are not useless by any means. The gravity of my pencil is acting on you right now. Sure, it's a very minute pull that won't affect you, and won't even come close to affecting you, but it's there. That metaphor applies to F2P skills as well. You can get them really high, and they're there, but they wont affect you or help you in any other way otherwise; only in a very minute manner. ;) ...Thus making money mostly useless. Yeah it's there, but that's about it.

The Rollback Cover-up
Even businesses need to be aware of customer desires, democracy or not. If bot after bot is made ... faster than customers apply (and stay subscribed) ... even if Jagex makes 90% of its profits off of botters ... Would you still believe it matters what WE think? I stand by my statement on the last page... You can stand by it all you want, at the end of the day you're still wrong. Players make up the majority and of the long term subscribers, clan users sit at the core of those people. And you know this how?

The Rollback Cover-up
If Jagex truly is doing this for the money then this is a travesty. I wouldn't put them to it, I do think they would lynch and pinch every penny they could get their hands on.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I always used Rune def at Pits over DFS for the attack bonus.. +19 attack slash was invaluable. [Well I mostly rushed groups of people in Verac's who threatened me most. Especially in slayer, Attack helps so much more than defence in most cases. People just Lose Strength bonus while giving up 25+ attack bonuses, which really is more defensive (shield) over offensive (defender).

- A new Era of Deflation?
That would lead to distress I would assume, as 25k flax is nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as a 2m cash drop. But since the Cash value of items is extremely low compared to.. we 2m cash (25k flax won't sell for 2m to a general store), this is a pretty good idea, given that all item prices would not change for the worse, which is undoubtedly inevitable. That's a pretty nice idea. Sorry my mind lapsed and I double posted #-o .. If any mod would like to remove this post that's cool (just move it to my prior post).- A new Era of Deflation?
source? I don't have one from years ago, sorry.. but I do remember something like that. Maybe I really did misinterpret. Who knows.. This was from November 2007. JaGeX appointed a team (don't overexaggerate this; it was 5 people) to monitor GE prices to correct values. I recall, upon release, that the GE valued the Gnome Scarf at 150K, even though it was worth 690K on the player market at the time. This team fixed the prices that were out of whack with the people. Gnome scarf got fixed, as did the other prices that were incorrectly labeled. The team isn't present any more. At least, not as it was back then. Now, fixes to GE prices only occur when JaGeX radically change the workings of an item. Examples include 5kg granite shot up 40,000 (IIRC) % after the ability to cut them into smaller pieces was introduced. Or, more recently, the climbing boots update. ------------------------------------------------------- My guesses as to what causes the inflation: 5) Monster drops: was always present. 4) General store selling: ^ 3) Monetary rewards: task-update did far worse than climbing boots update as far as introducing money into the game. Also includes Varrock city Rogue. 2) High-level alchemy: The achilles' heal of RS' economy. 1) PvP drops: Just plain awful. For example: take killing someone in full Bandos in PvP. While the personal loss is huge (60M), economically nothing was lost, as Bandos in raw economical gold is worth nothing more than 400K (?); its High-level alchemy value. However, if the person killed drops an Ancient statuette, this actually brings 5M GP into the game. The problem is, is how to handle PvP. People like to bash on JaGeX for it, but so far I've found no suitable answer as to how keep PK'ing in the game and not causing economical disaster. I haven't seen anyone come up with a suitable alternative either. And we can all agree JaGeX at least tries: - Bounty Hunter: easily abused, allowed for RWT. - Special item drops: voided 75% of the minigames and bosses. Full infinity, DFH, Dragonfire shields, DBoots, Berserker rings, etc. meant that no one had to fall back on the original ways of obtaining these. DFH still hasn't recovered from it. - Statue drops: Unbelievable inflation. If you guys want to counter inflation; think of a way how to give PK'ers happy while not making another group extremely unhappy. I'd like to see you try and come up with an alternative. And lol @ people claiming GE causes inflation. Pick up an 'Economy for dummies' and look up inflation. You bring up some solid points here. Thanks for the source, but I really was under the impression that they had like a whole team of people fixing GE prices constantly to match the supplies and demands of the community. As for the example with Bandos gear that's also insanely true... Street prices no where near resemble shop prices, and that makes Jagex feel obligates to listen to players wanting at least a 5m drop for a 60m pk.. which makes sense, but that's bringing a hell of a lot more SHOP cash than is being lost. Great point, I will add it to the OP.- Capital in F2P is useless?

That's true. But for a pure, what's the use of excess cash?- A new Era of Deflation?
That's nonsense, of course there's a difference. As aforementioned, I'll take an example of a painting. Lets say it was worth $3000 in 1800. But now, it's worth $3,000,000. Does that accurately measure inflation? Did prices of all commodities 300,000%? No. Of course you could argue that that's only a specific example but the logic still stands. There's a difference between price rise and money devaluation. I don't appreciate your spam. I already stated that your opinion is wrong, so stop.- A new Era of Deflation?

More items with high value = overal deflation. The money has got to come from somewhere, right? Also, Emerson says that DG puts people away from doing money generating activities, but I can say just about the same of item generating activities (monsterhunting). (ie: more people dg, less people do GWD => prices go up) You're confusing inflation with a few items increasing in value. If items come out that are high value that does not necessarily mean deflation will occur unless money is taken out of the game via NPC trading, if it's just player-player trading then no deflation will occur. Also the increase of GWD armor price would have to do with the supply curve shifting to the left, nothing to do with inflation. ECONOMICS :-o Uhm, if there is a set amount of money, an increase in items (addition of high end high value items) would mean each item must cost less. (on average) I know, the most important thing to look at is the GP in/GP out balance, but I do think items from monster hunting can have an effect. That's not inflation. Inflation is the devaluing of money, not just the increase of prices. That's why in the real world when the Government prints out excess money, the value of money falls compared to other currencies. This is also true in rs, when Player GENERATE more money than is being used, it devalues it, and more money is needed to buy the same items, while people still only make the same amount. Inflation is normal, but OVERinflation is unsafe and creates doubt in the populus.- Dungeoneering XP formula
Then how is exp given in a describable manner, which is predictable; and not random?- 200M in all Skills
- Who Remembers...
I did this variation. Falador mine, the LONG WAY (monks dirt path) to Falador to smelt, then to Doric's stupid anvil to smith, then Back to Falador to sell bronze chains to the Gen store. Gooood times haha. ;)- Would you like to see GM driven events in Runescape?
This. Also the death penalty in RS is extremely high (which I like), compared to other games.- Capital in F2P is useless?
except top tier P2P gear is a LOT of money, as is all the skills you would need to buy. while F2P you essentially are done with rune, and the 1% of players that look to get 99's in f2p in skills like smithing or prayer might need money at that point but everyone else is set. Exactly.. Essentially even 1m and you're pretty high up in how much capital you actually need to survive F2p. It isn't even used for anything other than buyable skills.- Capital in F2P is useless?
So by your understanding I can't use the words "ass", "bang", "beater", "bin", "biscuit", "block"... amongst many others? Wealth is also a ring of wealth by your standards... OffTOPIK naemmee Herp-da-derrppp... STOP TROLLING TROLL. Good day. :)- A new Era of Deflation?
