  4. Sadly, that's exactly the way it is. The minority generally ruins it for the majority. The idea of "you're not mature enough at 18 to drink" is a load of bull. It all depends on the individual whether or not theyre mature enough to decide that. Many 18 year olds are more mature than people twice their age. That being said, a policeman that I know recently said that most of the DUI's he issues are for people over the age of 35. So by that logic, should we raise the drinking age to 36 because people under 35 aren't mature enough to not drink and drive?
  5. I saw this coming a while ago. Thousands of people are going to God Wars and the market is getting flooded with items, forcing the price down. The real question is, how low will the prices go before they bottom out?

I've been to a ton of them over the past few years. The best live performances I've seen would probably have to be Green Day and the Red Hot Chili Peppers though.
  7. Reality shows and anything on MTV. Hell, the only things worth watching on TV anymore are sports and the news.
  8. The only thing I got for my 16th birthday was a shirt and 50 bucks. The parents that spend thousands of dollars on a party just don't know how to say "no" to their children. It makes me sick to watch that sweet 16 show, because the spoiled little brats whine and complain whenever they get a red Mercedes instead of a black one.
  9. I don't think the number of DUI's and drunk-driving accidents would increase that much. The people that would actually drink and drive are already doing it now, regardless of whether they're 21 or not. I still say that what we need is more alcohol education in schools. As it stands now, schools are basically saying that you shouldn't ever drink alcohol, and just dropping it at that. However, it doesn't take someone with a phd to know that people are going to drink, regardless of whether or not they're told not to. People need to be taught to use safe alcohol practises and to not abuse it.
  10. I don't really like McCain or Obama, but I'll probably end up voting for McCain. I agree with more of his policies than I do with Obama's. That being said, I'm pretty sure Obama is going to win because people want to see a fresh face in office, someone who's on the other side of the spectrum from George W. Bush.

  12. When I had all four of mine taken out, the surgeon accidentally severed several microscopic blood vessels leading to my temples. This caused 2 hematomas to develop on my jaw muscles, and I was unable to open my mouth more than an inch for about 2 weeks. That, combined with an incredible amount of bleeding after I popped my stitches open was one of the most horrible experiences of my life. But some friends of mine had them removed and had no complications at all. So it really depends on how the surgery goes. I didn't feel like doing anything for a while after mine came out, but your case might be totally different.
  13. Deleted. ~meol On Topic: I'm thinking this might just be a hollow threat. No one wants nuclear war, not even Russia. If they're serious, then they must have some sort of death wish. If they strike first, they'll suffer an even worse nuclear response from the NATO countries.
  14. Probably out fighting. Hell, I might as well get in on the fun before the end of the world \ .
  15. Strange that there aren't any articles about this on major news sites. The only things I can find concerning Russia are about their supposed withdrawl from Georgia. You would think a nuclear threat would be kind of important...
  16. A guy I know tried pot for the first time years ago when he was in middle school because he was curious after seeing one of those anti-drug ads on television. Gf drug prevention.
  17. I recently had a run-in with my manager as well. He always seems to blame things on the newer employees, even when it's his fault. When I confronted him about it, he basically chewed me out and said I would be fired if I brought up the issue again. On top of that, he was angry that I went on vacation, even though it was clearly on the schedule. I completely sympathize with your situation. It's one of those cases where the manager is always right and the employee is wrong, no matter what. Since he didn't report the accident, all he has to do is say that there isn't any proof that you fell at work. You're between a rock and a hard place with this one. The best advice I can give is to see if any other employee saw you fall, and would be willing to step up and say something about it. Maybe even see if a regular customer saw it as well. If this doesn't work, I don't really see any other way outside of legal action. It sounds as if it's the manager's word against yours, and that's never a good thing. But honestly whatever happens, I wish you good luck.
  18. My cousin has been married to someone 15 years her senior for over 17 years. Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with it as long as both people are mature adults.

I have a couple pairs of Ralph Lauren jeans that I wear occasionally but since they cost around 110 bucks for a pair, I don't wear them all the time. I usually wear either normal khaki pants or some cords.

  23. Where to start... -too critical of most people -at times, cold and distant -manipulative -too serious and work-minded -I tend to be a fairly intimidating person, or so I've been told. At 6'3", 210 lbs and a fairly muscular build, I'm told that I'm hard to approach since I usually have a serious look on my face.
  24. Scare tactics do not work in most situations. I know this firsthand from several friends of mine. Take alcohol for example. In school, we were taught that alcohol will ruin your life, and that it is evil and you should never ever touch it. Of course, any rational person would realise that this is BS when they see adults drinking it with no visible negative side-effects. Because of these scare tactics and the lack of proper alcohol education, several people I know overly abuse alcohol on a regular basis. If the schools/government would teach how to limit yourself on the amount you drink and how to drink in moderation instead of the whole "If you drink alcohol, you'll burn in hell" speech, the whole sex/alcohol/drug education would be far more effective. Hell, it's worth a try because scare tactics obviously aren't working.
  25. Someone give this man a medal. I can't imagine not eating meat, but I guess it's where you come from and your convictions on the subject...
