Longbow sight worth it?
Hello.. i'm a pretty good ranger (94) and i have 80 (planning on 85 sometime soon) defense. yeah so i'm one of those cheap tank rangers that can easily kill other players in safe pvp and survive in boss battles. there are quite a lot of things in my arsenal that i use for safe pvp and slayer. i was thinking of stepping my game up by getting the longbow sight from dungeoneering. i decided to wait at least a week to ask about it, but there really hasn't been much information on it. All i really know is that the accuracy is amazing, it can be removed from one bow to another, it still allows for all arrows to be used and it easily has over 100 range bonus when you have on a full set of metal armor. the only thing preventing me from buying it is that i'm not sure what the max hit with it is as it hasn't been explained anywhere. i have heard aswell that if you wear full rune with a maple sighted with addy arrows in pvp you can pick off people 20 levels higher than you like nothing. summary: is it worth it? do you have it? what is the max hit? is it worth using in dangerous pvp? please do not say "example1 is better for your money because __________" i am well aware of the other rewards and i'm not asking WHAT to spend my tokens on. i'm just asking a few questions about this specific one.

Why does Jagex get new skills so wrong?
666 has what to do with dungeoneering? 99 construction party in a dungeon. Dungeoneering. Yay a common name? I don't see your point here. haha my bad. i thought i was being witty. i meant i was there for one of the worst instances of a "new skill gone wrong" and for the OP to say they got dungeoneering wrong, was a gigantic overstatement of his biased opinion.

Coming from a guy who witnessed 6/6/06, i enjoy dungeoneering. edit: post number 777 i love you all

Wanna hear some white kids try to rap?

Most famous rs player
Wait, was he the 6/6/06 guy? No, He's the guy who holds a 2h with one hand and died in an epic battle. R.I.P edit: Actually i don't think any of us will see it as a joke considering OP said not to mention yourself and your about the 10th person who mentioned it and then thought you were witty. i think you forgot your /common sense tag at the beginning of your post

Supplements vs No Supplements
I don't know any runners who take legitimate supplements. however about 6 guys on my team (myself included) started eating these promax protein bars about 4 months ago. yeah i only lift twice a week but the muscle recovery difference and increased energy output is extraordinarily higher even when compared to cliff bars. i also experimented with taking two a day (one either for breakfast/after workout/before race, and one before bed) and noticed that i was actually more alert and energized in the morning, however i often would cramp up so i only do two a day now if i'm really hungry. I'm no doctor but if i have to stay up past midnight for school related reasons ill drink some strawberry milk and eat a bar.. not only does it give me energy at that moment but in the morning i feel much better and ready to go even after losing sleep

Wanna hear some white kids try to rap?
thanks for the views guys! in our first weekend we beat the rival rap group in our city in plays (we each released 3 tracks) even though theyre been around for 3 months! edit: and to clear things up, we started this because the 'other' rap group takes themselves very seriously and sells t-shirts and stuff.. it was kind of a spur of the moment thing and we happened to have all the resources available. we've considered stopping now however due to constant harassing phone calls/messages and the fact that they have.. well.. two african americans

The Running Thread

hey guys. glad to see everything is going good. i cut 6 seconds off my 800 time to run a 2:12 in my leg of the 4x8 relay (61 first 400) and 2:12 again in the 800m run. we were second (out of two teams :( ) in the 4x8 and i was 4th in the 800 (first place ran 2:08-9) i'm still going for that 2:03 PR by the end of the season. i should be able to pull off a 2:08 by our next meet. i'll keep you guys filled in. ps- our win/loss record for track is 0-2 :( pps- tortillachip, your a [bleep] animal

Inspiron mini 10 netbook
thanks for the posts. i am a bit sketchy now about the condition of the netbook. and laura as far as i know this specific computer cannot be upgraded to 2gb of RAM, i didn't know about that memory boost issue either, thanks. now i see that the $210 that i was planning to offer is a far cry from what it would actually go for (in the mid-100's). so i'm pretty much talked out of it, and that $210 wasn't gauranteed either. i guess i'll just call on friday, if she hasn't sold it i'll offer $150. the highest i'll go is $165. if she denies then i'll call back the next week and offer the same. and ill continue doing that until either she manages to rip someone off or she gives in. then i'll have a little piece of technology to mess around with. thanks guys

Inspiron mini 10 netbook
i'm not looking for a hardcore gaming computer though. im just looking for something to fool around on and a measly $200 should keep me occupied. i'm not getting it for gaming, gaming on it is just a big perk. all i said it my last post that playing those games alone would be worth the cost, not including the other useful things i could do on it. if i wanted a laptop, i'd take the money out of the bank and buy a laptop. if i wanted a new ridiculous gaming rig, i'd buy that. just because i have hours upon hours to myself now over spring break doesn't mean i will down the road, which is why i haven't purchased a new computer game (literally) since overlord(which wasn't even a good game). to be honest, if i really wanted this netbook i would have called her last night instead of waiting until friday. i'm just getting some opinions i'll reply line by line: thats a really good deal if i knew for sure i was just gonna end up buying it i wouldnt have waited/ posted a topic the one i was planning on getting from newegg was $1800 without a monitor yes, chances are it will blow my 'current' 4 year old computer out of the water. in fact i know it will. as stated above, if i wanted a nice gaming rig. i'd sure as hell buy one. infact i was offered a pretty nice one less than two months ago for $400

Inspiron mini 10 netbook
well considering my computer right now is just running on 1gb ram, i see a netbook as a good portable gaming computer. i mean, we're not talking crysis here, but i saw a HUGE list on some site with all the games that were playable on the system. plus, if i upgraded it to windows 7 i could use that memory boost thing and maybe even run some other useful apps. Also, i don't have two grand to dish out for a new computer some good/entertaining games playable (taken from multiple sites): diablo 1/2 baldur's gate age of empires 2 rome: total war GBA emu CaC games (RA 3/generals zero hour not tested) quake 3 RUNESCAPE WoW (lowest specs) quake 3 torchlight (netbook mode) jade dynasty (lowest specs) gta vice city most importantly: mine sweeper internet reversi snood farmville bloons tower defense are those games mentioned worth the $210? pretty much. plus the added mobility, wifi, word processing and audio video streaming.. i don't see why i wouldnt buy this system good advice =D> let me know when you have a $210 pc for sale. i didn't know netbooks didn't include keyboards or screens either, thanks!

Inspiron mini 10 netbook
hi guys.. i had some money laying around and i was gonna mod my gamecube.. but i managed to light my dad's workbench on fire trying to make a screw-tool and it kind of went downhill from there. soo i was looking through the local newspaper and it has a section called "aunt betty's basement" where people sell stuff. so the usual was there.. baby cribs, workout machines, atv parts, guns.. but something caught my eye. there was a netbook for sale. it was "barely used" for $352. i was intrigued so i called the number, and a woman picked up and said she bought it 10 months ago with 2 other regular laptops but never really used it. i continued to inquire about the battery, tv tuner, and operating system (keep in mind i was viewing the dell page the entire time, so i sounded like i knew my stuff) she said it was windows xp, and she couldnt find out what battery it was, but she said it was completely flush with the system(didn't stick out) which means it was a 3cell/24Whr, and since it was that battery power it meant that the tv tuner was not included. that system was going for 279 NEW on dell's website.. so i asked her how much she got it for. she claimed $700 so then i thought she was perhaps trying to make a quick buck from buying/selling but she sounded legitimate. i told her i would compare prices and call back (didn't want to seem like an a-hole). I'll probably call back on friday/saturday and act as if i've just gotten paid (though i don't have a job). if she still has it i'll try to haggle down to $210 range. i'd still have some money left over so i think i'd buy an external harddrive/diskdrive and possibly windows 7 that brings me to some questions: 1. is it worth buying the netbook barely used for $210 2. what the [bleep] can i use this thing for anyway? 3. what are some useful/must-have gadgets for it?

Modding a 2nd gen system
well, i'll be spending each and every day besides easter sunday at track practice. i think after each 7-12 mile day a little time inside couldn't hurt. but i'll be getting rowdy enough, you don't have to worry about it ;)

Modding a 2nd gen system
thanks for both the support and warning. i wasn't planning on doing any internal mods that modified the way the console played. i might actually make a video provided i can get my video camera to work.

Modding a 2nd gen system
*6th generation console hey guys. I, like most of you, have spring break coming up next week. and i, like most of you, have no idea how i'm going to spend my 10+ days off. due to some recent events i have about $250 laying around and i have basically nothing to spend it on.. i've considered modding consoles before but my 360 isnt worth the risk and the wii doesn't really make sense to mod. that leaves 2 ps2's (1 fat, 1 skinny, fat one doesnt read disks), an xbox, and a nintendo gamecube. I've never modded a console before and i really have no idea where to start or what i'd like to do with it The only help i'll have is from my friend who goes to votech school for computers and has modded his 360 and a gamecube in the past. the 360 he did a simple LED/case mod but with the gamecube he made a custom faceplate that incorperated the gameboy player(he was able to take it apart) and had two small speakers. he was also working on a ridiculous LED mod but he damaged a connector ribbon so he gave up on the console. he actually managed to sell it on ebay for $150 although it was basically inoperable. anyway he said he's willing to help me and spend somewhere from 20-50 of his own money on the project (if i end up selling the system he's asking for 10% of what i sell it for). i was just wondering what you guys think? what system should i do and how ridiculous should i get with the mods? my ideas: [hide=Gamecube] A very interesting and symmetric system. weak cooling, weak power supply and not much room inside. new paint job. outrageous LEDs . new disk top. new cooling fan. Redo front panel. recolor/replace buttons hardware*: New LED cooling fan LED's New chrome side grill New disk bay top (replace nintendo gamecube black area) modifications: painting estimated cost: $80-$100 difficulty: moderate *$10 for tool needed to get the gamecube apart -step 2- if i can properly do step 1 then i may attempt to integrate a 4 port usb hub into the gamecube [/hide]

The Running Thread
Hey guys. we had a meet today and we got crushed pretty bad. our opponents used the aforementioned 800 district champ in 4-5 events. it was about 38 outside today(well, yesterday since its 12:09am now). i actually thought i pulled my groin yesterday so i got put in the 1600 (instead of 800). i ran a 5:14 for 6th (again, only getting beaten by kids 17+ while i'm only 15) and i had a 2:26 for my first 800 (of the 1600) which is faster than more than half of our guys who ran the open 800. the other team just outsmarted us and actually mocked us on several occasions. in the 800 the 'champ' relaxed in third while we counted him turning around 7 times to his teammate (for no apparent reason except to make the race effortless). there was a pack of about 8 until the last turn where they decided to go crazy and swept 1-2-3. i have another meet next wensday and i'm going to try for a 2:15 split for the 4x8 relay and a >2:10 for the open 800. how's everyone elses season coming along?
