I thought these were supposed to have a punchline. Hipster Chara is the only funny hipster meme.- Jack Layton dies
Honestly, my opinion is that most people voted for Jack rather than the NDP. He just had something about him that made you want to like him. None of the other leaders really have that which is probably why the NDP jumped so much in the last election. So unless they find someone with that certain je ne sais pas, the NDP won't be nearly the same without him. I agree with this. Last election, Quebec in particular voted for him (with so many completely unqualified MPs being elected). I think the NDP is going to lose a lot of seats next election.- Jack Layton dies
Yeah. Pity he couldn't really reap the benefits of his latest achievement.- What movie(s) did you last see?
You missed cars driving around, that's about it.- The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
Anyone been following NHL.com's 30 in 30? It's a really good way to get to know more about the other teams, I've learned a lot.- The Sig Rating Game

Look at jagex, with all their basic coding errors. Or someone is doing something horribly wrong. It's easy to make mistakes when you have a massive codebase like they do. Obviously their QA should be much better, I'm just saying it's easy to make mistakes.- Jack Layton dies
Yeah. When he made the announcement that he was taking the summer off and would be back in September I was skeptical. My gf's grandfather died of cancer just a few months previous, so I know what terminal cancer looks like - and he (layton) looked pretty bad. Of course, I was hopeful he'd be fine, but I'm not that surprised.- Jack Layton dies
http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2011/08/22/layton-obituary.html For the non-canadians, Jack Layton was the leader of the Federal NDP party (basically our furthest left major party). He died of cancer this morning. Personally, despite disagreeing with practically all of his policies, I respected his political savvy and passion. He'll be missed.- Refer a Friend Programme - 18 Aug 2011
"Yes" - I'm studying a minor in computer science at the Delft university of technology. (Finished a major bachelor degree in physics, and am now doing my second major in aerospace engineering). I've programmed in more languages than I can remember, and really just "coding" is the easiest thing on earth once you know it. There is no difficulty in this, and it won't be long before programming is removed from university level and expected to be standard knowlenge for students. - "Programming" isn't higher than high school level. The difficulty is describing what a user wants and converting that to your application. - Or creating the possibility to program (formally defining a language which is easier/better than others). I accept that some programming is more difficult than others - but I wouldn't call it easy. Certainly if you're intelligent you can grasp it, it's not nuclear physics, but it's not flipping burgers either. Saying there's "no difficulty" is untrue. We're getting off topic though. It's easier to get hacked then you think - and it just doesn't occur to most people to take those security measures. I've never been hacked in any form, but that's due to a combination of prudent personal security policies and a large amount of luck at the time when I wasn't so security conscious.- Refer a Friend Programme - 18 Aug 2011
Also bear in mind most people take far better care of the security on their irl bank account than they do on a rs account or fb one.- Refer a Friend Programme - 18 Aug 2011
If you don't believe anyone would do this for runescape you're sadly misinformed. There are a huge number of people who attempt to hack huge numbers of RS accounts through many different means and they're often successful. Programming is just factory work? Have you ever even tried to program? Absolutely. It's a massive industry.- Get to 1000

I fail to see quite which country you are referring to with your point. I don't know of an Islamic country that combines the church and the state. Maybe once we've cleared that up we can proceed. I thought pretty much every Islamic country has a fairly close combination of church and state?- The Financial Mess
Every day, we're bombarded with advertisements in every medium telling us to consume anything and everything. Greed may be in our nature, but capitalism is stoking it.- Hot celebrities/models!! :) Post them here!!

Well technically they're just nip slips, but I don't think most Emma fanboys care. I'm not providing any links or anything, so you don't ban me  A good choice. I know there are a bunch of pics with her head shopped on, but then again pretty sure those exist for any celebrity. I'll bet money that nobody's gone to the effort of making fake Joan Rivers nude pics. #1 Rule of the internet: If it exists, there is porn of it.- Hot celebrities/models!! :) Post them here!!
