  1. If the bible is accurate it's not only rational but logical. Of course, that's what's up for debate, and there's no need to get into that debate here.

Governments and corporations have a responsibility to be accountable for their actions. It helps fight off back-room deals, embezzlement, coercion and a myriad of other illegal activities. It's the responsibility of the government to serve the people, not the people to serve the government. In exactly the same way that people have a responsibility to be accountable for their actions. It helps fight off rape, murder, arson, vandalism, theft and a myriad of other illegal activities.

True. But there's a lot more hypocrisy in the Islamic Republic that he presides over. Though I agree with some of his statements, he nullifies them by being exactly what he condemns others for being. Yeah. Still is interesting though. There's a thing called privacy, that's something that every individual deserves and their wishes of privacy should be respected (companies and governments, however, need to run with a certain degree of transparency.) Why should governments and corporations give up their right to privacy but you should be allowed to retain yours?

Even more so. They're literally everywhere.
  9. Stop spamming or I'll lock the thread. And If I did, I know you'd all go into Emma withdrawal.
  10. Too me that's more due to the stage of life you're at than your overall philosophy, if you will. I remember feeling the exact same way for quite some time, but as I've gotten older (not that I'm really old) my priorities have slowly started changing. How have your priorities changed? Do you mean you used to highly prioritize happiness/friendships and they are now less of a priority? No, my priorities in terms of what I thought would make me happy changed. I used to think being free of others would make me the happiest, but that's starting to change. I'm still a pretty solitary guy, I'm just starting to find more happiness in relationships despite the negatives they bring.
  11. Aha nicely done sir.

  13. Well, food isn't as addictive as a drug like tobacco or heroin that has a physical addiction involved, but I'd say food can be addicting (to some people) like a drug that's psychologically addictive like marijuana. Although if it was at all feasible I'd make obesity illegal too lol.

Same except postal code. Same. Test and fee. Voting age 18. All politicians are the same worldwide pretty much. Abortion - completely legal. Marijuana - illegal. Religion - don't know what laws you want to know about, everyone has freedom of religion though. Guns - no small arms, large arms only for hunting basically, fairly restrictive. Health care - free if you register. Gays - gay marriage is legal. Religious makeup is christian, muslim, atheist mostly. If you're not a citizen you should become a landed immigrant, which basically gives you everything except voting rights. Yeah vancouver doesn't get super cold or hot.

I love Ahmadinejad, lol. I realize there's a huge difference but a lot of the hypocrisy he points out about the west is valid.

Yeah it really depends where in Canada you move to. For the most part things are pretty similar but there are some minor differences. And Canadian beer is wayyyyy better.
  17. I do think this might solve a lot of problems. However, it's probably not very feasible.
  18. So why is marijuana still illegal? It doesn't make sense. It's not as bad as alcohol or tobacco, it has proven medical benefits for 200+ conditions (Alzheimers, HIV/AIDS, opiate dependence, Multiple Sclerosis, just to name a few), and making it legal would bring in revenue for the government (Yes, just a little, but it's better to have it than not) and would reduce prison overcrowding. Marijuana is still illegal because there's a cultural stigma against encouraging taking substances solely for their side effects. mfw this is exactly what people are doing when drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes http://myfacewhen.com/115/ Cigarettes have no side effects the same way marijuana does. And many, many people drink alcohol because they like the taste.
  19. And I disagree; I'm saying bringing a child into this world is always something to be proud of even if the circumstances aren't ideal.
  20. Why not? It's certainly possible to bring one up, and you might as well be happy about it. I agree that it's often not an ideal situation but it doesn't necessitate being in mourning.
