  1. HA. Okay. Sure. If my manager doesn't pay me minimum wage I'll say screw you and live on the streets. Or you know, get a job that doesn't rely on tips is the more realistic approach. A) If people actually tip, waitressing jobs pay a lot better than minimum wage jobs. B) Not everyone has the luxury of getting a job with a "realistic approach". Funny you mention living on the streets rather than waitressing. Seems to me that surviving in that...um...profession requires the same human generosity generally shown to waiters ;)
  2. Yeah Giordano, wait till the only job you can find is a tip job. I'm sure then you'll still be thinking tipping is a bad idea. It's not supposed to be a bad job because people are expected to tip. I personally always tip at least 15% unless the service really is awful.
  3. Even if Das and n_odie post here you still aren't going anywhere :P
  4. I don't think they'll do much to healthcare. But yeah, if they do, major backlash for sure.
  5. @Faux funny that the liberal platform is viewed that way yet the NDP is so popular. Their platform is basically the same but twice as worse.
  6. Hows that 4 week wait period to see a specialist? Largely nonexistent, actually. I have never, nor anyone I know had to wait an unreasonable amount of time to see any doctor.
  7. If you're not in Quebec you won't have the Bloc. Also, the Green party doesn't run a candidate in every riding.
  8. Which is why private health insurance doesn't work at all. The public option means everyone is paid for, always, with the same quality of care. Problem solved.
  9. I guess we'll see.
  10. We did have one, but it didn't receive the appropriate percentage, and was thus, shot down. I don't remember an AV referendum in Canada :? Well, I guess I shouldn't say Canada, it's more so the provincial ones (like the one in Ontario on October 10, 2007). Oh ok. I don't remember that one.

  12. Then he would never have been elected. Just saying.
  13. Actually, it was his government that overruled the CRTC's decision on priority bandwidth.
  14. Deja vu with Bos/Phi anyone?
  15. Is there a specific issue you're thinking of?
  16. Well, not particularly happy, but there are some positives. NDP didn't get a minority. BQ put in their rightful place. Kind of scared to see what harper will do with a majority, but it's the lesser of the evils. And it looks like May wins her seat, finally, despite a drop in voter % nationwide.
  17. Pro shopping skills Rainy.
  18. Polls close by 9. They probably won't definitively know the result until midnight.
  19. Because the conservative plan has always been to cut down on the debt. Stimulus (supported by the Liberals and NDP, btw) plunged us further into debt. They're making cuts as we speak to ensure that we don't move further into debt.
  20. I'd say 26% of the posts on a thread discussing moderation being moderators makes sense. The mods hardly outnumber users on this topic.... If that number was much lower, the complaints would be that the concerns of the users are being ignored. Here are some more statistics for you. There have been a total of six mod actions (posts removed, posts edited) on this topic. That is moderation. Just because a moderator posts doesn't mean they're moderating.
  21. LOL -- ^THIS^ is a perfect example of over-moderation. You offer with one hand and slap with the other. Is this one of the attributes that's specifically sought after in mods and admins on this forum? Uhhh what? I have no idea what you're trying to say. Why couldn't you ask the former question without interjecting the latter? Why do you feel compelled to make such remarks? Because once again, you're criticizing without making any viable suggestions.

  23. There is a difference in what you say you'd like to do and what you will actually do. So you're voting for him hoping he's "just saying" he's going to increase spending massively? By that token you might as well vote for the bloc quebecois, who are probably "just saying" they'll separate Quebec from Canada. (I do realize you can't actually vote for them)
  24. How do you suggest we improve? Shall we cease enforcing the rules every person (staff included) agree to follow when they sign up for the forums?
  25. Oh I agree, harper's far from perfect. But the NDP's economic plans will be disastrous for the country, and I cannot in good conscience vote for a party that is not prepared to govern. You see this? http://www.debtclock.ca If every person in Canada (the young, old, rich, poor) paid $16,000 out of pocket We'd still be in debt. You think it's going up fast now? At the rate layton plan's to spendi, it'll be $700 billion total by the end of 2012.
