  1. In what way is alcohol so much more dangerous?
  2. If marijuana is a good way to treat depression, then alcohol is a good way to treat depression.
  3. Yeah I was way off on that prediction. I said phx in 7 (and given what happened last year I thought it was pretty reasonable). Bad time for Bryz to stink it up too, considering he's UFA. All the other series' worked out in my favour last night though.
  4. We try to leave discussion as is - but we do have certain rules that we enforce on the forums. If people insist on breaking these rules, they are punished, it's as simple as that, and removing their posts is part of that. We don't want to be removing posts. But sometimes, there's no other option.
  5. I think there are many people who self-diagnose medical marijuana because they like the idea of being able to do it legally. It's not everyone, but I think it is some.
  6. The admins have all the information moderators have, and more by default.
  7. Found this going through DGB archives.
  8. Ahh I see.
  9. I need better gifs.
  10. What did he do? I stopped watching with like 5 mins left...
  11. Didn't manage to watch any of the game. Winner of Game 4 takes the series, I think.
  12. I haven't met one marijuana advocate that wouldn't agree with you. I have no problem with it taxed, regulated, or anything. I don't think kids should use marijuana, but I don't think the "smoking age" should be 21. 18 years old is fine. Yup. I see no reasonable grounds to discriminate people from doing anything based on any age other than 18. Drinking, smoking, lottery, casinos, etc...all of that should be 18. No more, no less.
  13. Adding on to what Tripsis said, the reason stuff often takes so long to get done is because different staff members have different opinions. It's generally not a super-majority, where practically everyone wants the same things and we all agree. Often it's extremely close, split between two sides wanting different things. For example, I want our censor relaxed. I think the majority of our users can handle some words that are currently censored being uncensored. But the majority doesn't agree with me, so it doesn't happen. It works the same way with pretty much everything (although obviously the admins have the final say).
  14. [garden tool] boy, a "think of the children!" post. Thanks for actually posting some content though e: You can't say [garden tool] on this site? What? Care to actually debunk his points? Not going to win any arguments with insults... No, I don't because of the part I quoted. It'll just result in running in circles. It wasn't an insult, his post WAS a "think of the children!" post. It's parents responsibility to monitor their kids, there are a hell of a lot worse things kids could do than smoke a little weed. I agree that parents have a responsibility to monitor their kids, but society has a responsibility to foster an environment where parents can monitor their kids. If marijuana were to be legalized, it would have to have the same restrictions as alcohol and tobacco...

  16. I don't think you can prove that marijuna is worse than alcohol. The problem is that alcohol isn't necessarily taken for its effects - marijuana always is.
  17. It could be in some cases. It's not hard to prove morphine is a painkiller, and as I said, a similar test can prove pot works in some cases. Not all treatments work for everybody, that doesn't mean they're illegal, criminal, and deemed as dangerous as heroin. "Twenty-one patients from across the country testified in the case, saying they were rejected by doctors a total of 113 times. One Alberta patient was refused by 26 doctors; another in Vancouver approached 37 physicians without finding a single one to sign off on the form." Would you approach 37 different physicians asking for dope knowing the long delays involved when you can get other medication? If I wanted to carry it around legally, have a steady supply and not have to pay for the marijuana. Sure. I assume the Canadian government pays for that stuff? Im not really familiar with all of their healthcare laws. I don't think it's funded currently, no. But I'm not 100% sure. But I don't think you necessarily have to legalize it for all purposes if you legalize it for medical ones. Morphine is legal as a painkiller but not as a recreational drug (although it's a much different drug). I'm on the fence with legalizing, personally. For medical purposes (if it can be proven it actually works) then I've got no problems. Recreationally, I don't know. I don't we need to give people more of a reason to use.
  18. People seem to forget that bootleg alcohol and tobacco are still thriving industries despite both being legal. I think the "2-3" months set out by the courts is completely unreasonable, because as you said, you can't really make changes in 2-3 months. I think proper research needs to be done about the effectiveness of medical marijuana, because it certainly has it's uses. If they're supported by proper research more doctors will feel comfortable prescribing it (when it's actually necessary) and that would fix this whole mess.
  19. First and second were good (love the colours in the first one in particular) but I found the others focally uninteresting. In the second last one in particular there seems to be no real focus in the picture...
  20. France categorizes religion in general as being un-french.
