  1. It seems that instead of thinking it is actually impossible, you're just arguing that it would be boring. Saying something can survive does not necessarily mean it will also be fun or quick, so I don't understand why you keep bringing it up. There would be less to do, but the main bulk of it would still be there. Your opinion on someone playing the game or not by just doing combat is irrelevant. The main point was if combat could survive by itself, not the details of why it would or wouldn't be a good idea. I'm not sure what the difference is between buying from NPCs or killing them for stuff, but there are good healing items they drop. On top of using rune/arrow drops to safespot food droppers, some monsters can even drop thousands of Saradomin brews at a time. Even if you're not that lucky you could get a lot of food from saving up small amounts over time. If there was something making it physically impossible for you to carry on training combat at any point without food, then I would understand your point. But saying it can't be done because it is boring is just not good enough.
  2. It not being enjoyable doesn't mean it would be impossible like you seem to think.
  3. Thats not SELF SUFFICIENT smart one. way to miss a basic premise of our entire argument. the self i was referring to was combat. you keep making this about diy. if combat were the only thing in runescape, it would sustain itself. If there was no fishing skill, the best food you'd have would be like bread and meat from cows and [cabbage]. Explain how anybody is suppose to train without any fish, i don't know many lvl 1-120 that are 99 def with SS, EEE, and unicorns. I think you're getting training combat mixed up with training combat efficiently. There would be many ways to train without needing food, even at low levels. I remember I used to see people at cows let themselves die and just walk back so they could save on food. Anyway, even if you can't fish or cook, you can still buy food from NPCs or get it from drops. It would take more effort to train, but combat could easily survive on its own. Also I'm not sure if Fishing was a good example for you to use, I don't think it was even one of the original skills.
  4. They are people. So? Not like they're contributing their lives to society. Why the [bleep] should we care? Considering they've been reduced to working in a sweatshop, they're probably just trying to stay alive. I don't see how you can refuse to acknowledge them as people just because of that.
  5. That's interesting lol. Fletching is only valued at 55k xp an hour, and it's the fastest one there =/ They're just overcharging people who don't know any better
  6. Anything can happen in the next few years. Since the game is constantly growing and it'll take a long time for anyone to max every skill, I don't really think you can say who's going to win based on current xp rates. I think Hunter had its speed doubled just last year, and now Slayer cuts off a few million off most skills too. I'd expect something similiar to happen to other slower skills eventually.
  7. I don't really think it could be called that. There are many things the ubercape seems to leave out. The requirements for the cape they listed seem a bit underwhelming for something aimed at completionists. An actual uber cape would have someone do stuff like: Have max total and questpoints Complete all tasks Defeat all champions Own a complete Dahmaroc statue and Royale Cannon Unlock Flames of Zamorak, Saradomin Strike, Claws of Guthix and Bones to Peaches Have the titles of War-chief and Expert Dragon Archer It might just seem like piling on random requirements, but shouldn't an uber cape be something that people truly have to work for? It would barely take a day to complete every task, probably less than two weeks to do the quests, and by then it'd be surprising if you don't have all music unlocked yet. It just doesn't feel like Jagex put much imagination into it. If it was released now it'd probably be more common than a professional cape.
  8. Sorry it's a page late, but please tell me how to do that.
  9. For some reason they ask for that information if you're trying to get your account back, so that's probably why they don't say.
  10. They'll probably be equal to current skillcapes, other than the ones for each 10 levels. I'm guessing the one for all level 10s will be +1 in all, while the level 50 one will be +5. Obby cape can't drop any lower than it is already, so like that it probably won't devalue much.
  11. If they do one for RSC they should really make an attempt to do one for their other games too. Funorb could really do with an activity boost and this seems like a decent way to get people to at least try it.
  12. I don't really see Woox quitting would cause an avalanche. People probably quit over every update, it's just that just this time it's someone who is well-known. He didn't really add anything to the game so I can't see people quitting because he is. If anything it'll give some people the motivation to try and take his place. I do think Jagex willl have crossed the line if they start doing microtransactions that aren't cosmetic things like the Runefest Flag though.
  13. I'm selling it, I have no use for it. Be interesting to see how much it sells for. I just got one too and it sold for 8,000,011
  14. If I understand the prestige update correctly, would it speed up dungeoneering if a team were to repeat floors 36 and 48 over and over? That way they should be able to skip all the longer bosses like yk'lagor and kalger while still gaining full xp Or have I misunderstood it and this is not possible?
  15. My friend showed me this =/ Didn't fully read the update yet so I dunno if it's mentioned though It's a Vecna Skull
  16. I'm in the same boat as you, so I wouldn't mind going with you. Although I probably have outdated information about what to do now. The few forum teams there are all seem to want people who are already experienced and threaten to kick those who aren't, so I can't really join any of them without having been before. Unless we find a full team of people like us I can't see a trip happening though. I've asked several people before and we've ended up not going. Is it because you're inexperienced, or because you're 90 strength? Maybe you have your own reasons for wanting to keep 90, but having 90 strength means your damage output with claws is automatically about 8% lower on average, which is crucial in pushing through the Smoke and Blood phase quickly. Barring that, just bluff and say you're experienced. If you've seen a couple videos, are at least moderately intelligent, have good reflexes and a level head, and can follow instructions well, you'll keep up with an RSOF team, experienced or no. I don't really know. I haven't been rejected from a team for either of them, but at the same time I haven't really had any offers. It is my 90 strength stopping me from joining a clan though, since I usually meet all the other requirements. Are there any easy mistakes to make that are usually assumed I'll know about? I'm kind of worried I'll be kicked immediately for doing something they don't like.
  17. 450 days and 6 hours Average is around 53.6k an hour

  19. He probably hasn't even looked at the thread since he posted. It took him long enough to join because it would've been xp waste.
  20. Tbh right now it's probably more useful than it's ever been. Yeah, I'd much rather be 99 slayer now than when whips were 20m and 20m was half a partyhat. Maybe it was a good moneymaker in the past, but I still think it's more useful now. There are many more reasons to train it now than there was back then.

  22. Why did that person say "gg bank" in the last screenshot =/ He lost like 400k at most
  23. I'm surprised they're still thinking about slayer. I thought all the updates it got last year were more than enough to finally make it a decent skill. I do think it's time for better boots though. Dragon boots have been the best for almost four years, and now they're roughly the same price rune were when GWD was released.
  24. Yesterday he had 79.4k crimsons, and 18.5k blues. It's just over 53m xp with a 1.1x bonus.
