Why does no-one know how to use apostrophes?? Use prayer + proselyte etc. If you don't have good enough defence/magic/armour then aberrents will hit too often and you will end up having to leave and restock food too often.

The "dark place between a lake and a holy island" is the taverlydungeon. They must have changed the clue to make it better. The scorpion will still be in the place the guides tell you. Before, you would either know exactly where the scorpion is, or, not knowing everything in the taverly dungeon off by heart, have to ask someone or use a guide. Now, you can work out that it's between entrana and the lake, and then have fun exploring taverly dungeon =D ... Or fail out and use a guide >_>

For a better chance of catching: Wear camo clothes in the style of the area you are hunting in. Stand away from your trap / hide behind something. It may take a while for a bird to notice the trap. Once they have noticed it, they will either perch and get trapped, or pull away at the last second and knock the trap over. You might want to wait and use some exp lamps/tears of guthix/quest rewards to make it easier to hunt. Or you could try hunting something lower leveled.

No, it doesn't reset at all. When you kill someone, there is a chance that either some, none or all of your drop potential will be used to generate the drop. You only lose points when such a drop occurs, and retain any points that were not used.

Many people consider the Helm of Neitiznot to be the best helm in the game. It gives decent defence, and good attack/str stats. Guthan's helm is the best helmet defense-wise. Another option would be Verac's, which has the same stats except for a +3 prayer bonus, slightly better magic defense and slightly worse range defense. They just buy the potions... They have spare money. Use proselyte, protect prayers and prayer pots when you are fighting monsters that do too much damage to heal with guthans effectively. Range armour when you're killing stuff with ranged or killing monsters with magic based attacks. High attack gear (bandos plate/fighter torso/proselyte plate + tassets/proselyte legs) for little fail monsters that do no damage. High defense gear (dragon or barrows) and full Guthans for killing monsters that do a fair amount of damage. If you don't need protect prayers, you might as well use up your prayer with the 10% or 5% prayers. Always use a black mask (where you don't need earmuffs/nosepeg etc.). I highly recommend that you do Smoking Kills and unlock slayer rewards for the slayer helm + free slayer exp as soon as possible. Don't bother renewing your black mask. It's stats are exactly the same with or without the charges. Don't buy Torag's. Guthan's platebody (which you already have) has the same stats as Torag plate, and Verac's skirt has the same melee defense stats as Torag legs with a +4 prayer bonus, slightly better mage defense and slightly worse range defense.
