Rivers Run Red
Well, just remember that people are going to hate you if you are a drow. EDIT: Unfortunate, but surely it wouldn't be too difficult to play as a dark skinned elf and call yourself a drow instead?

Rivers Run Red
Pathfinder is basically 3.75. There are very few major changes, most of it is just balancing so that non magic characters have more options to choose from. It's also free from Wizards of the Coast and their silly lawsuit squabbles. Grim, you are EST time, right? 10AM for you is 3:00 PM for me, which, on a weekend, is pretty good for me (And Icu I would guess). Not sure about everyone else. Edit: Icu, here http://pathfinder.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Religion That's just a general pathfinder diety list. Not sure if Grim wants to specialise based on region.

Rivers Run Red
I finished working on my character sheet. It looks like alchemist is going to be a pretty fun class to play as. Also, I used the equipment pdf for the standard 3.5 game, because I couldn't find the one for things like acid flasks, alchemist's fire, and sunrods on the pathfinder srd. Hope that's okay.

The Back Room
Traits are something your character has at the start, which don't usually change. They're explained on the wiki. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ Scroll down the sidebar until you come to the traits section, and just click on it, and it'll explain what they are and how they work.

The Back Room
Grim, would you like to make a thread concerning this? Also, what are your limits on traits?

The Back Room
I'm going to play a human alchemist.

The Back Room
Grim, the rules are also on the SRD, which is nice. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

The Back Room
Errr... No. The end of the plot is already hurtling towards us like a freight train... PS. You guys should join in if Grim runs a campaign. It'll be awesome, and it's a nice oppertunity for me to play in a fantasy game instead of running one.

The Back Room
Grim, EDIT: Got it, thanks. While I'm looking at this, which other books would be used? Retech, yes indeedy. I'm off for half term.

Giving up is such a harsh phrase. I'm just joining the winning team.

The Back Room
I would consider Advanced players guide to be core, because it's pretty much just advanced players handbook. It doesn't do anything to help the balance, but it doesn't hinder it either, wheras Tome of Battle takes a 100% step in the right direction. If, perchance, you were to run a game, I would be grateful, but I wouldn't want to cause any inconvenience to you. I've looked at that Infrno website before, but I am not very comfortable playing games without at least knowing one or two of the other players... Still, I suppose I should probably get past that at some point.

The Back Room
I was looking around on /tg/, among other locations, for an online game of Pathfinder, with little success. Kind of tired of never being able to actually play in a game. Incidentally, the most balanced combination of splatbooks when playing 3.X is Pathfinder Core+Tome of Battle, and nothing else. It brings melee classes up to the same field as magic users. It isn't entirely balanced, and never will be, but anything which allows a non magic user to match a magic user in 3.X, even slightly, is a win in my books.

Lynx, offtopic stuff goes in the back room, and that wasn't even tangientially related to the topic at hand. Archi has been fairly clear on that.

That fact is forever embedded into my brain because I got it wrong in an exam. It is still sort of odd, though.

There was nothing I could do, and I'm wondering why you are still blaming it on me. He had higher access than I did, end of story. Also, are you sure that isn't just the meds talking?

Nex, you are forgetting that nanites are apparently magical.

You probably should have kept that a secret, but alright.

Neural rearrangement surgery. Or just turn you into a robot and reprogram you into an engine maintainance drone. Servitors for everyone, hurrah!

Dungeoneering Again
Well, it is not my fault that I am never told that we are going on holiday until 3 hours before we leave at 6AM.

Lynx, Archi already asked you to take non relevent chatter to the back room.

Dungeoneering Again
Well, since I have no access to my home PC at this time, and wont until wednesday, it is not likely.

The Back Room
Well I think the only reason people said "Okay, you can have it after 100 years" was because they were all sick of arguing and didn't expect it to go on for 100 more days, so they threw that out to stop the arguing.

Indeed. By making everything calculable in kTs, the system has been standardised. There is no need to work out how many electrons X will take to do Z when you can instead work out the number of kTs required to do Z, which makes it easy to compare to everything else. All energy requirements can be done in kT, as well as material requirements, which mean they can all be easily kept track of, compared, and modified.

Mather, I really doubt Archi is going to spend an unnecessary amount of time to cater to your obsession with putting it in coulombs when kT as an arbitrary and standard unit works perfectly fine and provides a basis to create and compare things easily and quickly. Using coulombs instead would not help at all, and would end up making it fall further into solid science when the entire game is made up of soft science. If he started using Coulombs in anything, I'm fairly certain you would take that, and then apply it to something else... And then again, and again, ad infinatum, until the game becomes such a mess of science that it takes 3 hours to work out the damage we just did to the enemy ship because you insisted we worked it out in j/m^3 or what have you.

Hoo boy. That's some fairly serious stuff.
