Well, as it turns out I wildly overestimated the time I would be away for. By about 6.5 days.

There is a lot of benefit to not having a rematerialisation period, especially in infiltration. If you don't want to be found, you don't need to be found, since the second you see somebody turn their head you'll be several hundered meters away in an empty closet. It wont be somewhat useful, it's incredibly useful. It can also be used to make our ship go faster as a full ship module.

Regular transporters have a 7 second rematerialisation period. Stutter teleports have zero.

It's basically a transporter which can be used hundereds of times per second.
