  1. Auran, with power over life. I'll probably come up with a backstory, but that is the name and power.
  2. Really pulling out all the stops with your creativity here, I see  I'll probably have a character made by tommorow.
  3. Quitting because your plan didn't work is kind of low. Roll with the punches. Change your goals, work towards something new. Don't just quit because something didn't go quite how you wanted it to. After all, what goes around comes around.
  4. My apologies for not being present for half the session.
  5. I would like to continue running both, but I can see why that could be difficult. It's your choice, Grim. You are taking the time to GM for us, after all.
  6. My main advice right now would be to work on limbs. I know the long, wide bottomed trousers make it easier by hiding the curves and detail of the legs. Believe me, I used to do that (Still do, actually) all the time, but if you practise creases and details of clothing and limbs, it improves it a lot. The same applies to robes. A robe in a drawing shouldn't hide the body, creases should be drawn to define the shape of the person beneath it. Other than that, I would say the usual. Hands, feet, detail, etc. It's all in the detail. I know drawing shoes/feet is a pain, and I know hands are something which I personally struggle with a lot, but you need to keep practising that stuff. That said, you seem to have the posing pretty much down. The people don't seem to have their arms/legs stretched in unnatural ways so they fit into the drawing, which is good.
  7. Right, right, you want a reason. Some people prefer to play in a system where everyone is on equal footing. Tabeltop gaming is a fairly long standing tradition not only as a game but as a way of socialising. In freeform, it is basically a contest of who has the most overbearing personality, wheras with a solid set of rules, you know what goes and what doesn't. It makes the job of the GM much easier, and it makes the game flow for the players. There is no other way to do things like scale enemies or diplomatic missions without a solid ruleset, unless you do it arbitrarily which leads to the situation of the GM having a different opinion than you, thus giving rise to arguments and debates about trivial things which detract from the experience for everyone involved. The only people who play the way you think people play tabletop systems are powergamers and minmaxers, both of which I am not fond of in the slightest. A system is by no means the be all and end all of role playing, it simply provides the foundation for a story to be written, much like a well built house compared to freeform, which is a cobbled together shack made of corrugated steel in this scenario. In the end, that is literally all the rulebooks are. Foundations. Pillars, which support the overall storytelling experience of the players and the game master. You make it seem as if story and game mechanics are mutually exclusive, and that is a very poor way to look at it, and it will only hurt your ability to roleplay. I didn't initially give a reason because I thought you misunderstood the concept at it's base and assumed this was going to be another attempt by a tavern member to create a system from scratch, which it very clearly isn't.
  8. I'm trying to say that there is no need for characteristics and preset careers, the point of a forum based game is that it gives you a freedom that you don't get with normal text based games. If I wanted to play a game like this I would go online and download a MUD. Why would you need a manual to play a game that could potentially be extrememly simple. I think you missed the point of tabletop RPG systems. In fact, the point was about four hundered miles west of where you are right now. PS. the title is misleading. We wont be going anywhere near Holy Terra or we will be attacked by about 20 battlefleets. And the moon itself. Which happens to be a massive weapons platform now.
  9. I will be about 30 minutes late. Sorry.
  10. Indeed. the whole thing has gotten out of hand. I don't care who is in the right, if there is indeed a right in this particular argument, but you two really need to stop getting so personal about a game.
  11. It's all in the shoulders and facial features. Wide shoulders and a wide jaw will generally look like a man, and the opposite will look like a woman. That said, make sure the face isn't too thin or it looks very wierd. Also remember detailing around the eyes. Eyelashes are a key giveaway, as is nose length and shape. Chest shape will provide an inclination as well, since that doesn't depend on robes and will be just as obvious with a full robe on as with a regular shirt. Also look into drawing feet, because they can be surprisingly effective at pointing out gender with somebody in a full robe like that, especially one which doesn't have arms or visible limbs. Type of footwear, shape, etc.
  12. I still think it'd be easier to just turn people into servitors. We could even hook the brain up to an amplifier and use the screams as a sonic weapon. Just kidding, of course. Maybe.
  13. Archi, that probably isn't the best mindset to go into Rogue Trader with. Though I am still doubtful on whether or not it is wise to plan this far ahead, since it makes people yearn to play it when Kingmaker is still running, which could cause the premature death of the game.
  14. Honestly, at the end of my time playing it, I'd sold most of my stuff anyway, and I was wearing an outfit purely for the looks(Red H'Ween mask goes surprisingly well with Lord Marshal gear and an attack skillcape) because the only thing I found fun after a certain point was screwing with the economy. When you get down to it, Runescape has two things going for it: Fairly good storytelling, and the economy system. The rest is pretty mediocre. Of course, that's just my personal opinion.
  15. Just because they were class features or triggers does not mean they were honourable or should be used in a 1v1 duel. The horse was pushing it, especially since you used it to attack, IIRC. Don't mind me, just pointing out that you two wouldn't know honour if it jumped up and bit you in the face. (For the record, I do not particularly care, but this is how my character would react) In other news, my character now has a lightsaber. Not that I'll ever be in melee combat, but my character loves fire based weaponry so I am taking as many fire based items as I can.
  16. Thanks for the session, Grim. Also, Jen and Victor seem to have some misdirection on what the word "Honour" means. Here is a small explanation, to help you out in future. Things which honour does not mean: -Mind controlling your fellow party members -Mind controlling your fellow party members animal companions -Summoning backup in the middle of a 1v1 duel -Backstabbing in a 1v1 duel -Using aforementioned backup to trip the opponent in a 1v1 duel -Mind controlling anything during a duel -Running away from melee after the dishonourably summoned backup has been taken out This has been a fun lesson from Jericho, the chaotic good semi-eccentric who *still* seems to know more about honour than either of you :-D
  17. Sorry, but I'd rather give this one a miss. Not really in my field of interests at the moment. Perhaps next time.
  18. Up till now I've stayed silent and watched, but this makes me want to ask. How exactly is China a neutral source at this point?
  19. Well, the english language is actually a hideous amalgamation of around 20 other languages... So it is to be expected that some glitches pop up from time to time. That said, since people are being taught that X means X, instead of being taught that X was taken from Y and Z and that is what it means, it doesn't cause as much confusion as one would expect.
  20. We also advanced to level 3, which means no more character alterations.
  21. Thanks for the session, Grim. It was pretty awesome.
  22. You're about 11 years late to the party, Slowpoke. Motres. Zapdos. Articuno. Also spells Mozart.
  23. Thanks for running the session, Grim. Was fun.
  24. No problem. I can wait until the problem is fixed.
