Yes, I am Jeremiah. Jake on the IRC, and Ross here. I'll just be Jeremiah on the IRC though. To avoid confusion.

Can I have the position of turret and weapon maintainance? The science team can develop it, I can install it.
-
Space
An extra couple words and it would work as VB code too. I guess this is why they say that all code becomes easier to write when you know one language. Dusty is the most competant person, and voting yes/no doesn't work in this situation. The ship needs a captain.
-
Space
Mather, stop being insubordinate. You would make a terrible captain, so stop trying to take the most suitable candidate from the position.
-
Space
Mather, you are not in charge, and yes, Dusty is the captain. He was captain yesterday, and he is captain today. He's the one who saved you in the simulation. You could at least be grateful, given that you accomplished more or less nothing in that entire situation, aside from getting shot. SCIENCE OFFICERS SHOULD NOT BE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SKIRMISH.

Dusty is the captain. And yes, it seems odd that the cargo would go missing around Ganymede, a known japanese base, when Jen happens to be Japanese and she gains 5000 credits afterwards. Very odd indeed.

Oh cool. I have one of those as well.

Meson blasters and antiproton are weapon types. The first of which is installed in turrets around the ship, which I am wiring up to my personal VISOR, as well as the weapon console in the bridge.
-

So, Jen got 5000 Ec. And we "lost" half our cargo. That leads me to a conclusion. Also, don't destroy any turrets. They're important, as was shown in the simulation where everyone nearly died.

/join #space_online tavern Type that exactly as it is. It should work.

Sounds like a lot of hassle.

The Back Room
We are talking about the box at the bottom left corner, right? Because that's what I'm talking about, and I'm fairly sure that one has deflection.
-
The Back Room
I use deflection because the base theme burns my eyes and mithril is meh.

Dwarf Fortress Continuity Game
No change in fps, it works with Ironhand fine, anything else is a bit iffy.

This argument has no winners. Especially not you.

Yes, because when you set the profit you gain from something yourself, and you have no limits on said profit aside from pestering by the other players (Which, be serious, you payed attention to about as much as a butterfly pays attention to the australian stock market. "Don't like this? I'll lower it by 5%. My tax margins are still absurd, but whoo, who cares about things like balance!") things have absolutely no chance of getting out of hand. Lets be serious. The economy system was messed up. I was a prime example of that. I dictated my population growth rate, I dictated how much I taxed them, and I dictated how much the average income was. This was so incredibly exploitable that you could put the goddamned pope in front of it and even he would give in to the temptation and abuse it. So when you say "My economy was best" you are, in essence, saying "I was brave enough to put slightly bigger numbers where my money should be than the rest of you." Christ, strawman arguments are fun. So are tortured analogies. Saying "Discussion Ended!" is a terrible way to try to end an argument. It's basically asserting yourself as the winner with no feedback from anyone else. Putting your hands over your ears and closing your eyes, basically.

Wooo. If I didnt disband all my ships and then realise that was a stupid thing to do, I might have remained a contender for a longer period.

Okay then, Mather. You wouldn't have won, but alright then.

Dwarf Fortress Continuity Game
Genesis mod please. It doesn't make it easier, just adds some nice stuff. And more food types. +Cave Crocodile meat ravioli+, anyone? It also adds new races, metal types, plants, trees, wildlife, workshops, etc. Also, I recommend a 3x3 embark with a layer of gabbro and one of any other igneous intrusive (White), plus any number os sedimentary (Brighter white) That gives us guarenteed mineral wealth. Water can be obtained from the caverns, and magma from the magma sea, obviously. I can go ahead and get some worldgen parameters - seed if you like. That way you can use them to keep genning until we find a really nice spot. I don't want to go first, since I tend to be far too safe in my construction, and I'd like to get a chance to improve my adaptability. EDIT: Here. Make sure to remove the seeds, and you might want to make the end year higher, though with the number of megabeasts and titans, I can't guarentee civilisation survival. They're pretty much maxed out, so expect a lot of fun. Remove my own toothbrush battery, and flip it around. 2) You are given a chance to travel back in time, what do you do? Plan a xanatos gambit that starts from the beginning of the universe and eventually leads to a hat landing on my head 6 billion years later. 3) A ship decloaks off the starboard bow, what do you do? RAMMING SPEED. 4) A race of aliens destroys your shields in a single shot and disables all your weapons and power systems, what do you do? Keep fighting no matter what, kick reason to the curb and make the impossible, possible. 5) There is a bomb onboard the ship. The only way to save the ship is to open an airlock which you and the bomb happen to be in, what do you do? Disarm it. See the above response. 6) An alien has taken control of the bridge. A medical officer has prepared a deadly nerve gas to kill the alien, but your captain and three other officers are also on the bridge, what do you do? Tell the medic to activate it. I sure am glad I had them all cloned just in case of such an event. 7) While working one day you recieve a secret transmission from an unknown source, who claims to be working for the government. The person offers you 20,000,000 energy credits (Enough money to never have to care about anything ever again) to kill a fellow crewmember, what do you do? Accept the task, find a way to fake the crewmembers death, collect my fee, and then change my identity so I can't be tracked down. 8) You feel dizzy and lightheaded, what do you do? Check the air supply and life support. 9) You are given the opportunity to open on Broadway, Play the Lead in a Hollywood Film, Take a flight through the Sun, Open a Military Training Academy or Bring about World Peace, which do you do? Take a flight through the sun. 10) There are two missiles. You have the ability to destroy one of them. Once is aimed at the Residential Sector and one is aimed at the Industrial Sector. Which missile do you destroy? The one aimed at the industrial sector. I figure that if industry is halted, the lives of the people get a lot worse anyway.

The Back Room
Genesis - Download the pack from the forum thread. Comes installed with Ironhand graphics, is compatible with any addons. Dwarftherpist - Download it, open the folder, run the [Caution: Executable File]. Done. dfhack - Download it, open the folder, pick which application you need, run it, done. If you want vanilla .16, just download it from the website. Therapist works with it, dfhack woks with it, runesmith works with it. It's not too difficult.

The Back Room
You should at least try genesis. Even if we don't end up using it, it really does add some nice features to the game. Also, .16 is good to go now. Therapist has been updated, and dfhack works with it, too.
