The Back Room
Oh my. Glad I don't have to go through this overdramatic twaddle. Just throwing that out there for an excuse to use the word twaddle again.

Baldur's Gate 2
Righto, red mage it is then.

The Back Room
Nah, Toady himself said that he made it fubar so he could fix it more easily later.
-
The Back Room
Well adventure mode is kind of fubar at the moment. Toady crippled it so that he could make some changes and additions to it later, AFAIK.

Baldur's Gate 2
How would a multiclassed Fighter/Mage go? Useful, or not?

Retech, go to the orders menu and check the [F]orbid options. It lets you forbid enemy and friendly items upon death. And Grim, those tunnels had better not be 1 tile wide, or I will prepare a tombstone for your fps. Heh.

Like I said, desgnate a garbage dump tile, then [d]--[d], draw a rectangle over all the stone you want gone, and then have refuse haulers at the ready to take it all to the dump.

The Back Room
I usually only have one entrance since I get all my wood from caravans or caverns.

The Back Room
I throw large serrated discs. Much more stylish.

Baldur's Gate 2
I already ordered it. Should be here by tuesday. I'll go buy a headset I guess.

Baldur's Gate 2
I could very easily buy one if required. Is it critical to being able to play? (Wheee being able to use a debit card at last rocks) I'll probably go fighter/mage. Red mage, basically.

Baldur's Gate 2
Right, so it's more or less online multiplayer DnD? Sounds fun, count me in.

Baldur's Gate 2
I've never played it, although the only things I have ever heard said about it are praise, and I really should get around to it. Is the multiplayer all PvP, or is it co-op type thingy? I'm fine with either, but I like co-op a little better.

If you're planning to declare war on the ocean, I already tried that. It doesn't work because of pathfinding quirks.

The Back Room
Up/down stairs are a giant fps killer apparently. I switched to using ramps, though I'm not sure about it yet.

A fortress does need water if you want a medical system. Otherwise you'll get a heckton of deaths from dehydration.

Hegemony: A New World
The fact that he agreed to it means he's trustworthy, so you could let him move the army back now :P

That means you should find bauxite nearby, because sapphires only appear near bauxite. Also, Earth, for easy farming, dig down to the caverns, wall off a 10x10 section of it, then make a load of 1x10 farms. 100 farm spaces with a good farmer can easily provide for a 200 dwarf fortress with massive surplus.

Traps are less fun. Military is cool when you get your head around it.

The Back Room
Did you check the core which DF is currently assigned to? And if yes: pictures, because I have never seen DF use less than 50% on worldgen.
-
The Back Room
I don't think you're looking at the right thing. ctrl alt del, then bring up task manager and check the performance.
-
The Back Room
Clearly you are using some kind of black hole powered quantum computer and aren't sharing it with the rest of us.
-
The Back Room
Unless you have some kind of dodecacore hypercomputer, I highly doubt that is correct.

Hegemony: A New World
I don't want to isolate my regions though. I'll leave enough space that you can still move around and use the closeness modifier, but I'd rather colonise those regions since they're close to my islands, and makes for easy passage to the mainland. Wheras if I make colonies down in the middle of nowhere, the flow of goods and military would take years to pass through 10+ regions to get to wherever I need to be.
-
Hegemony: A New World
There is less competition down here, and more free space. Stop being greedy. You aren't even there yet. You still have those three regions in between to colonise :(
