Compfreak estimated the drop rate at 1/3000. The probability of getting a drop in 3000 kills is: P(getting a visage)=1 - P(not getting a visage) 1 - (2999 / 3000)^3000 = 0.632 the two is rounded down and we are left with 63%. In 10k kills the probability of getting a visage is: 1 - (2999 / 3000)^10000 = 0.964 (>90%) A lot of the other posters have made mistakes in their calculations prehaps mixing the probabilty with the expected value of visage drops. The chance/luck/whatever terminology has not helped. I think some people are having problems with realising that killing multiple dragons can be thought of as a series of events instead of just thinking about each kill as a single event. Otherwise it's just basic high school math. I see no reason for a flame war here. but as far as I know each dragon should be considered as a single event, as the drop chance does not increase.

But if you kill it twice with two 1/3000 shots that makes it 2/3000 or 1/1500 You do have as much as a shot on your 1,000,000,000,000th as your first but you have the chance of getting it on any of thoes 1,000,000,000,000. the top part of that is wrong, as if you continue on to kill 3000, using that theory, on the 3000th kill you end up with a ratio of 1:1 or 3000:3000, and that cannot be true. the second part is fine though, that is true.

killing more monsters does not increase your chance of getting a drop, its the same every time, you can kill 10 dragons and get 3 visages, or 10000 and not get a rune item drop. the last I heard the estimated probability was 0.05% which seems low, but its actually 2000 dragons. it would seem chance is not on your side. and to anyone saying it is down to luck, it is not luck, it is chance, luck is just an imginary thing made up from the human mind to explain why good or bad things are happening often.

jad has near zero defense hmmm.. so thats why people kill him with flowers! Indeed, karil crossbow set on rapid has seven bars of speed, which is better than whip, seeing as jads combat levels come from absurd range, magic, strength and attack levels, his defense is rather pathetic. so karil crossbow is effective, as its accurate and fast, but dosn't do well at piercing defenses

I assume all undead are zamorakian? the necromancers are, as are the spells that allow it. and zamorak boss is probably something like an omega demon that was born of darkness and hatred and only wishes to destroy everything. on a completely random note, I still want necromancy as an add on to magic, it was hinted at a few years ago, but I'm not sure if jagex just scrapped it/changed it into summoning. necromancy is epic.

runescape has a very in-depth and detailed history, Its actually pretty fun to read some of it.

make obvious changes to equippables. bandos chest, you have giant [bleep]es on your shoulder, I want to be able to gore somebody horribly by shoulderbarging their face. why can't I? not putting anything else as most of it has been said already.

sonic isn't really in the trash, the day sections of sonic unleashed was some of the best sonic gameplay ever. werehog needs to gtfo. I'm hoping sonic and the black knight will be a decent title. mario has appeared in almost all gaming genres, and having played mario and luigi:partners in time, the good mario party titles, and mario kart, I can safely say that he succeeds at most of them. I assume its just the fact that its great character design.

I started doodling in my books a few years ago, and now I think I'm a little obsessed, every other page in most of my books have sketches on them, I try not to consider them doodles any more, as they are actually pretty good.

karil crossbow is very effective against things with near zero defense, but still not worth the money.

I tested this, and I ended up getting results that said whip was better, the +50something stab just can't stand up to the whips +82 slash, as well as the strength bonuses on the whip. so its either really close, or I did something wrong.

it would be faster to just use a gilded alter..... in the time you save you can afford the to buy more bones to replace the 50% xp that you lose.

No! Now none o' that. On topicish,I remember seeign somewhere that icyenes are in this game as well, correct? Does anyone know anythign about them? I remember the sara sword examine being "blade of an icyene" or somethign similar. Yes, just as the Ourg is Bandos' big finally, an Icyene (who does look like Commander Zilyana) is Saradomin's. It doesn't give much more info about them than the Bandos one does for Ourgs. It is assumed that the vyrewatch are corrupted icyenes, and that below the castle, the previous ruler of morytania, who just so happens to be an icyene, is being imprisoned.I think these are just small assumptions based on limited information from jagex.

Don't feel stupid. Slash Bash is basically just a large Zogre (or, in other words, you wouldn't know otherwise without this extra information). Hes an undead ogre which is a zogre and ogre includes ourg, and since they were comparing general to ogres and slash bash was equivalent in size AND he dropped ourg bones (hence the ourg part (thats why ourg instead of fayrg or w/e)). I wouldve guessed that genereal would be an ourg. yeah, pretty sure jagex just had a random thought and decided it would make more sense this way. I like it.

unless you combo, in which case absurd numbers can be hit with mage, not quite as absurd as melee or range, but still ko-able.

don't want to start another debate so I'm gonna say that if you start and decide you don't like the minigame, don't bother with it. the rune plate is ok for now, its the dragon med you really need to fix, get a neitzot or a warrior helm.
