The Back Room
Earth, you'd probably like Minecraft a lot better. It still has a really dwarf fortress-y feel to it, but is a hell of a lot simpler. Unless you get into red powder manipulation, but that's a whole different story. http://minecraft.net/ While I'm on the subject, I was messing with red stuff today (I built an 8 bit binary combination lock, but that is fairly simple anyway), and this, which I documented for when multiplayer comes out and I actually get to use it on people instead of whichever poor defenseless sheep or pig happens to wander into the corridor. The blue lines are iron doors, by the way. And the red lines are wires.

There is a graphical UI for it, but it's incomplete I believe. It's really easy to understand the ASCII anyway. After playing roguelikes for so long you sort of get to terms with the ASCII style.

Tip.It Hegemony
This Hegemony is dead, man, let it go. You're pretty much the only one playing it. And what is up with the chain of numbers?

Cats become a huge problem in dorf fort if left unchecked. They seem to have some kind of dwarvern mind control, and it means you can't get rid of them easily. And they tend to reproduce fairly quickly.

Just a bigger castle, possibly different coloured?

Ultima's Top 20 Games you Should Own.
I liked AoE II, but wouldn't think it deserved second place. That said, I have no major gripes with anything else on there. Of course Half Life is going to get a spot, because it is simply a brilliant series, and I was glas to see Goldeneye on there, as well as Banjo Kazooie. I honestly think I prefer the newer Castlevania games to the old ones though.

So has the budget reset? I need to know so I can finish the Cathedral Terra. (SO MANY THINGS RIPPED OFF)

Ye Olde Hegemony
I already have the Union of Terra. But Terra in this context means the rock and earth beneath our feet, not the planet itself.

Ye Olde Hegemony
Well lets see. Vast untamed wilds full of dangerous animals, savages, disease, lack of sustenance, and abundant resources. If you manage it, you're clear, but good luck with that one. INB4 MALARIA. MALARIA EVERYWHERE.

Being under seige is a death trap full stop. That said, a good general will never need to order a seige either. Wars of Attrition suck for both sides.

Or you could try the diplomatic route... Speaking of which, Retech, are you still good for that IRC China trade and sultanate of whatever thing? The Sultanate of whatever needs a proper name, too.

Is it worth getting the Wii?
The wii is the worst console, easily. of course, i did say this doesn't apply if you're a kid or a senior citizen. i figure you're the former and lol @ you saying i hate nintendo. nah kid, i hate the wii and you fanboys. i actually enjoy the DS and the gamecube. ssbmelee is one of the greatest games ever made compared to that disaster smash made for wii Just because I can see that the Wii does have redeeming features, I am a fanboy? I have never said that the wii is the best console, and just because I have never said that it is the worst either, I get called a fanboy kid. Wait, there is a contradiction there. The quote from me states that all consoles are equal, and yet I get called a Nintendo fanboy anyway?

You might like Minecraft, too. It has a real "dorfy" feel to it. It's more or less online lego in creative mode. infdev is more fun, but you need to purchase the game to get it (Though it is only like, $15 or something, and well worth it in my eyes.) Bearing in mind that it is still in it's alpha version, http://minecraft.net/ The guy who makes it codes at a downright stupid rate. Theres usually some big update every week at least.

Is it worth getting the Wii?
lols so basically if i want to play FPS on a console with [cabbage] controls and horrible online connection, i'll play on the wii. why bother when PS3 and 360 does both better + more rofl I don't understand what you're saying here. We basically said that the Wii sucks for FPS games, and that you should get a 360 or PS3 if you like FPS games, because it really does. I think you misunderstood. Wii sucks for FPS games, but there are some really, really good games on the system. Of course, you seem far too biased against anything Nintendo to accept that the Wii can, in fact, have good games. The 360 and PS3 do not automatically outclass everything the Wii has to offer. All three consoles have advantages and disadvantages, and there is no definitive best or worst console.

Well sure, I'll join in. Just need to check my budget and such, and I'll work out how much to put into it. Is the budget reset tommorow, by the way?

Easy way to prevent that Rocco, other than metagaming, is to incite a full scale civil war and fracture the country entirely, meaning that whoever owns the splinters afterwards needs to spend a heckton of money repairing everything.

I think I'll end up starting a few trade routes into Asia. Specifically where modern day China is. Still need to do the Sultanate of whatever thing with Retech in IRC. I'll PM him about it.

I'm in agreeance Rocco. The farthest modern hegemony went was launching your city destroying nukes at the right moment.
