  1. Sometime in August 2001. I didn't actually get really into playing until the late fall, I believe.
  2. It's 2003 all over again in here.
  3. Understandable, if you weren't an old school player.
  4. Exactly, kind of defeats the entire purpose of actually playing again, what with everyone having 99's. That's more incentive not to play than any other, I believe. Not to mention it would render our hard work useless.
  5. You're right, I remember now. Memory must be failing me.
  6. I'm pretty sure that the Dragon Slayer quest was required to enter... at least I think.
  7. If I remember correctly, this kid used to talk an absurd amount of trash against his opponents. Motherofrage was a good friend of mine in the very early days. She helped me get further accustomed to the game. There were a few more good friends of mine from 2001/early '02 who either quit, or I just lost contact with. Brolly04, Fir3g0d, Maximus2208, Jakel456, Jr Ant, and a few others who I used to pk with extensively in different periods of time throughout my time spent in the game. Unfortunately I can't remember the rest.
  8. The player kill system was imperial. The first 3 rounds were absolutely critical, and that's what made the system so glorious.
  9. I ran into the Wars' every now & then. Your name seems vaguely familiar as well.
  10. My intentions in the game were very similar to those of adx's, and unfortunately the game died for me when RS2 was released. I did little else besides training my combat, dueling, and lurking the wilderness, along with the necessary fishing and cooking to support my habits. Looking back on those days, I have plenty of memories, but I've said it before, and I suppose I'll say it twice: The past should be left in the past, and things inevitably change, especially with MMORPG's.
  11. I never payed much attention to clan politics, the who's who, and such, although Exercitum, RSD, and several other of the larger clans and their members used to harrass me out of my training areas. Specifically the hobs, since it was such a hotspot. I know I had constant rivalries with members of this clan, names elude me, but I'm almost certain that many of them scarcely post here anymore, if at all. I miss the days when I would troll the wilderness, preying on whomever I'd please and looking for people who had the GUTS like myself to go it alone.
  12. Hey, Shaka. Do you remember me from my short-lived stint with Jaguar?
  13. No particular order: Las Vegas Just Shoot Me It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Scrubs Man vs. Wild Cramming the list down to 5 wasn't easy.
  14. Yes, he appealed roughly a month or half ago and it got denied. Same happened in 2006 so I assume we ain't gonna see him out for at least a year or two. -3 church arsons - 1 attempted arson - causing one death (fireman) - murder - Escaping from the prison He got 21 years (max in Norway) in 1994, I don't know enough about the law system to say how will the escape affect or will it have any affect on the total. I at least assume it was one reasons why his appeals to get a limited freedom have been denied. Twenty one years is really short. You would have a good shot at the death penalty here for doing that stuff. I think the book I read was lords of chaos? I'm pretty sure that was it. Chaos something anyway. Yes, it was Lords of Chaos.
  15. This was essentially the point I was making.
  16. In the grand scheme of things, the only way to grow and expand is to change. If that upsets the loyal followers from the beginning, so be it. It was inevitable that Runescape would eventually evolve, and look how massive the game has become because of it. This is a standard business tactic, really. If Runescape had remained the game it was, (this arguement can also apply to the DeviousMUD predecessor) than it would surely have stagnated long ago. It's good to reminisce about the old days, but the past should be left in the past.
  17. Nice to see you again, Brolly. It's been a VERY long time. I hope you remember our old pk days. One thing that's for certain here is that these lists are undeniably subjective, and the player kill system was always shifty and based primarily on luck, so that factor played an imperative role in winning/losing battles. In my personal encounters, I would always end up against Adx and fifteen others, so I can't really say who deserves credit here because I was constantly teamed by many of those on your lists.
  18. Those glorious days are better left in the past.
  19. I remember all of those names. I used to fight many of you on various wilderness encounters. One thing I'll never forget is how cocky some of you were. I can see the ego factor hasn't lost it's vitality...
  20. Satanic Vamp, some pure I used to wage battle with back in 2002. Thought it was a cool name, among countless others of which I can hardly remember.
