Nor have I. Well partially I do, since a heap of people derive most of their gaming pleasure from the numbers within the game, and not the game itself. The instant gratification from achieving a numbers goal, X in a certain level, is quite addicting to some. Compare it with a heroin junkie. They pain they must go through on a daily basis to obtain their high is instantly gratified upon injection. I know it's an extreme comparison, but considering the amount of complaints over certain skills from the same people who can't pull themselves away from it strikes a good resemblance.

I've never understood why the general consensus is, that everybody, or at least the broadest spectrum of players should be able to complete pretty much all quests with minimal effort.

lol i just thought up the best quest line for Hans. After doing this and that, you have to go to a super secret location, but you're not allowed to take weapons or runes with you, kind of like Entrana. So when you get teleported there, you find yourself in a fenced in enclosure, with Hans on the other side, this time with a bow or a crossbow, still level 3 of course. Hans then proceeds to range you, slowly, VERY SLOWLY, to death.. I think the quest should be called Anti-climax Much. It also should give you -1 Quest Points. Quest perks: You are now buddies with Hans and being that he has been in Lumbridge since like forever, he obviously knows everybody there, granting you a 5% discount of all items for sale in Lumbridge \o/

I think it's good. Common tactic employed in the business world, really. Especially with regards to the computer industry. Just like certain companies offer employment and prizes, if hackers can force entrance into their servers and alter their websites. If you can't beat them - put them on your own damned payroll. =D

Jagex can come up with more creative bosses than that :) I think they are simply trying to complete some circles by adding the current boss' counterparts and I doubt their attacks will be identical. Hans on steroids would be a cool boss. (You fight him in the kitchen basement). SUPER COOKS QUEST.

PvM is a term you can use on Runescape and probably only Runescape. Just like PK'ing. On pretty much any other RPG game community the terms are; PvP (Player versus Player) and PvE (Player versus Environment). Now there are some silly people arguing that PvE is silly, because the environment consists of the trees, rocks and earth beneath you and around you. That is false. An environment can also consist of the living/non-living beings (i.e zombies, elementals and more) which surround you and/or have a direct influence upon you. Which is obviously what is meant when using the term PvE. If anything, you can turn the arguement 180 degrees around and argue that PvM is a far too limited term, since humanoids (Man, Black Knights, Guards, etc etc) do not classify as monsters. Runescape has in the past 10 years distanced itself from other orthodox RPG games so it is only normal to have non-orthodox ingame slang such as "PK'ing" and other, now outdated terminology such as "catching", "3-hitting" etc etc. Slang which will never see any usage outside of Runescape. Go to another game and ask, for example, if there are any "pking" or "PvM" clans and chances are, if the players haven't played Runescape, they won't understand what you mean the first time 'round.

I read in the tip.it times article about Runefest that he was present but yeah, in gaming aspects I doubt we'll see him again. Look forward to following Fen Research though ever since I started following Jagex in 2000. Maybe he'll be cool and upload The Bottomless Pit, lol. Monkey Trouble would be pretty cool too or whatever the game name was. The game where you had 2 monkeys and the water level is rising and you gotta shoot down the coconuts :P If he makes a new RPG game it will automatically kill Runescape or at least cripple it.

Perhaps he no longer agrees with the current stance Jagex has taken and prefers not having his name attached to the product any longer.

He was very open about it, that is why. Because RS1 is very poorly administrated.

Does anybody know of a player that has maxed out skills in both RS1 and RS2? I rarely talk to anybody ingame anymore so my knowledge of this subject is minimal. If nobody has proof it must be an exiciting new achievement for some players. If somebody already has, well, good job!
