  1. Very inspiring! Thanks for the vid.
  2. Fortunately I believe the administration isn't care-free enough to ban somebody, based upon a single statement and the fact that the poster has a low post-count. Besides, if one is ignorant of the rules on tip.it they should be advised of them and given another chance, especially as a new user.
  3. The person posting above you could mean it in a humorous context for all we know. I also real world trade, every time I buy my groceries. But even if meant as a joke, it's not really that funny :P
  4. But Runescape already costs money and Jagex is already making money with the set price. Upping the price to make players leave, as you suggest, would be bordering commercial suicide. People are willing to pay 2 to 3 times the amount of money per month for other games, because they believe they are better and the fact that other games can sustain very large playerbases, regardless of charging $10-15 per month sustain their beliefs. (That the games are better graphically etc, than Runescape). So if Jagex were to raise the price to 2 to 3 times the current cost of monthly membership, a heckload of players would go play the other, better game. The general population is not as attached to this game as alot of people would have us think.
  5. I'm pretty sure that if the price of playing Runescape went up by 100%, that more than half of the current members would quit, essentially creating a deficit. If not quitting out of lack of money, than out of spite and/or principal.
  6. I think in chonological order my list would look something like this starting at the beginning. Also it's really hard to determine riches from the earliest stages of RS since one could get just as rich, if not richer from pking instead of skilling, since there were no item banks and lots of people were too lazy or didnt have the time to deposit money. 1. Twy and/or Dmonik because gp was rare and they had good gathering stats, being top miners Dmonik being top smith. Darkarcher8 because he was a great early pker. 2. Bluerose13x for obvious reasons. 3. McTavish 4. Chewy Shoe. 5. Duke Freedom.
  7. lolz wut about [kitty] crunch :P but you're right! NO WAY! Are you the REAL Fook a Ji? Plx have my babies! lol sure. if you're female i will gladly inseminate you. if male, i will not-so-gladly do it
  8. welcome everybody =) nice to see an upswing in hellos and not goodbyes
  9. The person in question admits to all the crimes he is convicted for. If not aware of that, I advise you to read the first post in this thread, where a long quote by the said person is implemented :)
  10. He said that his parole officer was trying to deny him parole. So overcrowding of prisons isn't the reason why he got out. Because everything people say is true right? Dude yes. Now let me upgrade your rune armour.
  11. rs is life and life sucks /cutwrist /queue tokio hotel music
  12. You're just so used to "buying iron longsword" that you automatically think "buy iron longsword" is the same, which ultimately triggers a brainfart - making you sad ;) ;D
  13. Such liars. $5.76 is most certainly NOT the cheapest 10m!
  14. He said that his parole officer was trying to deny him parole. So overcrowding of prisons isn't the reason why he got out. Ever stop to think why his parole officer was trying to deny him parole? One should assume that the parole officer was doing his/her job - and I seriously doubt that the officer had a problem with Thomas whatshisname on a personal level. Also taking the overcrowding of american prisons in measure, one can only assume that the officer's motives were legit, seeing as he, according to Thomas whatshisface, was attempting to deny parole. I personally would take a trained officers opinion more serious, as opposed to a repeated offender who's first known crime was in 1984. I emphasize the word known, since the following crimes come across as slip-ups, rather than isolated events. I'm also just second-guessing like most people, but I share no agreement with the folks who feel sorry for this dude. A grown man should know better. I felt glad that he himself admits to his mistakes in his lengthy letter of resignation, than saddened by the 2-pages that followed which struck me as an attempt to excuse himself. As for Jagex going public with this issue. One could argue that it is tasteless, however I'm sure that 99%, including many of the people claiming the lack of moral fibre on Jagex' behalf, are happy for this piece of information in one way or the other. P.S The dude has evil eyes and his pic creeps me out, lol. P.P.S It struck me as quite odd, that he writes about obtaining/possesing child and/or underaged pornography as a normal thing. .
  15. this Gf I'm worse off though tbh That's from 3 days, I just cleared about 75 of them before. Gmail master race filters them all into my spam folder though. Richard Bong seems like a nice guy.
  16. Actually, they are grammatically correct, with regards to the people writing "sell/buy x". They would however, be wrong if they wrote "selling/buying x" but still meant it in the aforementioned context, i.e writing "buying iron longsword", but wanting you to buy it. Writing "buy iron longsword" is a petition for you, the potential customer, to buy the longsword, therefore it makes perfect sense. Although I agree that it isn't a handy way to barter in a game where all communication is text-based.
  17. Sure. I also remember an Andrew that tried as hard as he could to maintain RS as a free game, yet due to monetary circumstances he had to set up a pay-to-play option which ultimately got him and his brother up and out of his mothers basement where they hosted and created the game and made them some of the richest bachelors in England under the age of 30. Times change, and the Jagex of which you speak was a different company. Jagex is owned by external investors now and romanticizing the past is all good and well, but coming to terms with reality is probably best for all of us.
  18. It's no surprise to me that the general RS community is so much against micro transactions. Runescape is, after all, the "worlds biggest free mmorpg". Free being the keyword. Meaning the majority of players are cheapskates, ergo micro-transactions, or paying for something to gain an advantage, is poorly accepted amongst the masses. Microtransactions will not ruin the game. The people in it will ruin the game as a result of being cheapskates, migrating elsewhere to find another free game where "the developers actually care about us". *spits*.
  19. I would change my password to 12345 and hope that the hackers come on again to keep on getting me free levels.
  20. Tip.it wasn't originally a Runescape fansite. It supported games like Asherons Call and other rpg's. Than they had a subforum for Runescape as well. Tip.it became most popular when Bluerose13x posted on the old official forums, that to contact her for rune smithing, you had to PM her on tip.it. That created a massive influx of users and everybody with general knowledge of the old game came to know of tip.it because of the Steel Corpz or whatever the name of the clan was who operated on the website. Anyway it was decided that tip.it would focus mainly on Runescape as the websites popularity grew. The expenses also grew, so the leadership sought elsewhere and made Scapeboard. Scapeboard was accessible simply by writing scapeboard.com as far as I recall. Many were dissatisfied with the new look etc. A few years later there was a breach of security and the forums were hacked. pages upon pages of pornography was posted everywhere and accounts were compromised etc. I was inactive on the RS scene due to IRL issues at the time, and had somebody sign up this username for me, so it wouldn't be stolen. So the exact details about the board switch to this forum aren't that clear to me as they might be to others. But in short, Runescape tips forum has had 2 board switches and many tweaks/alterations. I would say that 99% of old posts are lost due to board switches. Note also that Tip.it is older than tip.it/runescape. And also that there may be slight errors in my recollection since I am writing it all out from memory right now, and I furiously smoked trees in the first half of the new millenium lol...
  21. hey man . didnt expect to see you here haha. i dont play rs2 anymore but sometimes i buy members to go on classic. its pretty empty there though and most people do staking instead of pking .. also lots of bots but I dont know if there are catching bots around. anyway wildy pking isnt much to write home about !
