My RSC memories are fading but wasn't Blick a ranger? Of course a ranger always has a team. What's the use of a solo ranger? Ya she was a ranger. She didn't fight because she had [cabbage] stats (66 def, may have even been ranged impure) but she was ALWAYS with a ton of people. thats because almost everybody wanted to be in her team :wink:

First levelled it past the 50's after rs2 came out and made it so friggin easy :mrgreen: The old top ranger Kobiianardo, now banned, let me on his account to pk sometimes, 88 ranged where the 2nd best was like 79 at the time - I think it was Dravenstormn. Damn it was awesome, never quite understood how he got to 88 ranged back before fletching and you could only buy 100 arrows at a time in the arrow shop, and they were ALWAYS BOUGHT UP! Anybody over 70 ranged in 2001 was beast! Sure, there were bots who collected the 1 arrow spawn on the 1st floor in one of the houses at Draynor, but still.... :ohnoes: Another technique was creating massive multiple newb accounts with Ranger class just for the 10 free arrows - pure madness if you ask me :mrgreen:

I doubt RS will have as many players as it has had in the past unless they go FULL 3D. By that I mean 1st person view using W-A-S-D for movement, etc. Ultima Online had 200k+ users at its peak which was from '99 to around '01 now there are about 2k users online at any given time on a PRIVATE SERVER, since the game itself has pretty much been abandoned. RS actually stole many players from UO's playerbase back in the day and now they are losing it to other, "better" games. Lets get realistic now and face it, the RS1 graphics were cute and had a funny feel to it. The RS2 graphics, wether they continue to update them and what-not, suck large donkey gonads. There is no charm about choppy delayed movement. Like I say. Although it probably never will happen. If they follow with the times, and they aren't doing that with their crap graphics, they will survive the test of time. Otherwise they will end up like Ultima Online. Those of you who are old enough know what I'm talking about when I say that a game with 200k regular users can EASILY boil down to 10% or even 1% of its playerbase within 1 year. Not saying its going to happen now. But it will happen if they don't get their finger out of their butt and stop feeling so smug about their oh-so-cutting-edge java graphics which nobody, honestly, nobody is impressed about anyway, save Javascript fans. Lord knows they have the resources to start with a clean slate and make RS3 a real 3D game. I just don't see it happening what with their infatuation with making a science fiction game who's website, by the way, has not seen an update in months. I will literally roll on the floor dying with laughter if Stellar Dawn, their brand spanking new game, is released with the Runescape engine. Really, I would. It wouldn't be shooting onesself in the foot. It would be ordering a nuclear strike right in ones face. Just my 2 cents.

Overall they are losing traffic to other games. Although the last month has seen a 16% increase in traffic, obviously. But that is nothing compared to 2009 where the graph begins. Also fun to notice the increase in traffic around holidays as many come back and log on simply to collect the holiday item.

Why does this worry you? It's playing your cards right seen from a business stance.

I don't see how the RWT sites are doing more than Jagex, seeing as they only lose their items and gold, as opposed to their items, gold and account.

he isn't banned lol when he got banned a long time ago he flew to cambridge with his computer so they could see for themselves if he had used any illegal devices, after that he was unbanned again. :thumbup: this was back in '02 though and he's not been banned since :wink:

Yep and they can thank Wc3 players for making it popular in the first place. I think its fairly safe to say that the RS community steals and leeches its sayings, lingo and insults from everywhere else on the internet. Most people who say NEWBIE these days also mean it in a derogatory way although the word is not :)

I honestly love f2p and all the garbage that comes with it. If I still played, I would play f2p only again which I did for 8 years before becoming p2p back in 2009 for a short period. In fact I would still play f2p now if it weren't for the fact that I have some member skills. I love the noobs and the trashtalkers, the beggars, liars, cheaters and all the other scum. I like that they have a place to be and I also like the fact that if someone completely estranged to Runescape were to compare the f2p community with the p2p community, the p2p would definitely be the sissyboys and nancygirls.
