The Flower Game

looololol

Recommended Posts

If you have been around world 2 ge or world 18 edgeville bank you have probably seen groups of people clumped into one area all shouting something like "Flower game 200k 2 trys/bgs prize - legit" or something similar.

from what i have gathered you have to pick a certain color of flower that you think you will appear when the player hosting the "game" will plant using the mithril seeds. if your color of flower is planted, you win, if not, you lose and pay again for another chance to win the game and the prize.

Have any of you tried the flower game? what are your views on it? are there actually some trustworthy people who will give money to the winner or just scam and teleport?

I'm trusted cuz of that silver thing in front of my name in game. :shades:

the highest rate of any flower is about 16%

so if you are running the game you can offer 4:1 or 5:1 odds and still profit

i played it with one guy (he was operating, i was betting) and i won the first time and scammed me for a 10k bet lmfao

From what I understand, depending on the exact version played, odds range from around 1/9 to 1/6. So potentially if you see people offering, say, a 500k reward for a 100k entry fee it could be legit (or not). The players running the things can still profit on those types of figures.

However, when like the OP saw, someone claims to be offering a BGS as a prize, it's most likely a scam. Maybe I'm misunderstanding and they're saying you'd have to pick correctly two times in a row to win, but otherwise it would be impossible for the running player to make a profit under those terms.

the flower game is a total scam. but saddly its a scam just like gambleing.

your going to lose your money, but its not agaisnt the rules.

how many flower colours are there? 9 i think.

thats 1 one in 9 chance of wining. yay?

1/9 chances of guessing the right flower. 0/9 chances of getting your reward in my opinion.

It's not quite 1 in 9 - some of the flowers (particularly white and black) are much rarer than the others.

Exactly.

But some people insist on paying stupid tax, both IRL and in-game.

PvP is not for me

Honestly Jagex should just put a casino type place in game just so people can risk their money without getting scammed.

I agree with this, oh how I would love to play Craps in rs

All DFS threads turn into efficiency flame wars >.>

>OP asks "why use DFS?"

>everyone says "there is no reason"

>someone says "stop bashing people who use DFS, efficiency troll ass clown"

>thread is now a flame fest

indeed, i for one do do stuff like that.

but i can not speak for all, but i can say it is only human to be blind to chance.

btw if anyone is intrested.

In a sample of 380 mithril seeds, one tester found these percentage chances for receiving each flower:

Red:14.6% Purple:14.8% Pink/purple/blue:8.7% Orange:17.2% Yellow:14% Red/blue/yellow:13.8% Blue:14.8% Black:0.7% White:0.7%

In a sample of 500 mithril seeds, one tester found these percentage chances of each flower:

Red: 15.6% Purple: 13.6% Pink/purple/blue - 10.2% Orange - 12% Yellow - 18.4% Red/blue/yellow - 15.4% Blue - 14.8% Black - 0.2% White - <0.2%

Another sample consisting of 1000 seeds got the following results:

Red: 15.4% Purple: 14.6% Pink/Purple/Blue: 8.9% Orange: 15.3% Yellow: 16% Red/Blue/Yellow: 14.7% Blue: 14.8% Black:0.2% White:0.1%

i see high levels hosting these games (120-130) so i can't imagine everyone of them being scammers.

That means nothing.

I have see high level 130+ bots in full bandos with choatics getting stuck on things like the wildy wall.

So it's basically the same as the oldschool french game in which you had 3 dices and had to roll a 6 to win, which from at first sight might look like even odds, but it's actually around 40% to win.

Basically a casino game. If you do it for high amounts of money, with trusted players, there is no need to scam, as hosting the game itself is ridiculously profitable, granted you offer the "right" odds.

The game is played by stupid people, just as almost all of the casino games.

There have actually been different variations of this going around ever since the ls/cs worlds came out. People would team up, say at the kbd, and would bet on which drops would appear. Was fun the one time I tried it, was with 5 other people hunting kbd, and I bet 2.5m on the odds that the next item would be ls'able. Sure enough, a vissy split came, and I walked out of there with a cool 21m. Flower game is just a different variation, mind you even if the dealer loses, chances are he'll still make profit by just picking up the flowers...

As time goes on, lasting impressions will establish themselves. A few dealers (or groups of dealers) will gain an honorable reputation, and will be more trusted.

At least, that's what I hope happens. I don't really want to see another case of creative thinking in RuneScape get abused by scammers and cheats.

Unless someone gives you 20/3 times the cash for win, it'll never be a good idea to even play the game. With duel arena boxing you atleast know you have a 50/50 chance to win, but playing this game at anything less than even odds is just stupid. And not to mention, the whole sceam reacks of scamming. At 4 times profit margain, it's a 38/62 game.
