Does Jagex really know its own game?
Well Pirkka. Ever since Rs2, Jagex have become increasingly notorious for making the game the way they like it, and forcing the players to adjust and adapt to their set of gameplay, not vice versa, hehe. I doubt they will change their take on things any time soon.

Drew my own new desktop :D
Its marvelous! As opposed to the majority, I think the boy in the picture adds emotion to the picture!

Spot stealing wrong?
You're right. I've played countless RPG's through the years, yet RS is the only game where I've experienced players throwing temper tantrums about somebody arriving at the same training area as them, and going so far as to rant about it on various boards, lol.

RuneScape Research Group
Its not a big secret. The RS computer takes into account the item and stats you have and creates an imaginative die (dice). The higher your stats, the more sides the die contains. Each side represents a number. The die is rolled before every attack you make and a number comes out which you see in your game interface. So the higher your stats, the more possibilites you have of hitting a high number, although it is not guaranteed that you will roll a high number every time, which we all experienced in the past when we hit 0's multiple times. I made it very simplistic so I hope it explains it for you. I realize the anecdote for it, but I'd like for us to get some concrete numbers, so we can quite literally calculate your chance of hitting. If you know your item stats and character stats you already know how many sides your die contains. But it seems to me like you are asking for something not possible, that being wanting to know what number the die will land on. If Jagex' program is as advanced as it should be, the computer itself will not know it until it starts rolling for the next hit.

You guys still playing BG? I recently bought the game (again) and would love for some multiplayer action! Haven't played this since like '02!

I made it very simplistic so I hope it explains it for you. --- The same rule applies for many skills, such as cooking, fishing and mining which are mentioned above. The higher your skill, the more sides the die has, increasing your chance of attaining the item you are working for. Example: You are 55 mining and you mine mithril ore. The die contains 55 sides, so the chances are 1:55 for the die to land on 55 enabling you to attain the ore from the rock. Although I'm 100% sure that Jagex has altered this formula increasing your chances drastically with regards to mining, fishing, woodcutting etc. Perhaps by dividing by 2 or 3 making your chances as a level 55 miner 1:22.5 or 1:18, which adds up very well. Seeing as its still a pain mining mithril as level 55 and it first gets easy around level 70. As for cooking the same rule applies, yet Jagex have set up barriers very cleverly allowing one to never burn a food of a certain level once you pass a certain level. For instance I believe raw meat doesnt get burnt after level 16, and swordfish stop burning after level 87, correct me if I'm wrong. All in all Runescape is a game of chance and odds, and you can get the odds in your favor by levelling up. I can't answer your question about dungeoneering, as I haven't been ingame active for several years now, but its all numbers and dice bro!

Spot stealing wrong?
Just one more thing. Since its a multiplayer game, as you know, one should accept the fact that colliding with others is unevitable.

Spot stealing wrong?
Cool story bro. This is a discussion forum, where everyone is encouraged to voice their own opinion. If you don't like that, don't come back. So far you have not seen me or others calling folks like you whining brats, just because we don't agree on the same thing. Tell us what you think about spot stealing, not what you think about the spot stealers. RS can also easily be played as a singleplayer game.

Spot stealing wrong?
It's called spot stealing. There is a skill named Theiving, which is the same as stealing. Jagex likes stealing. Moral of story: Go steal spots.

I agree. I think he'll realize he wasted too much time in life when his greatest achievement isn't even real. Hi. You have 8 million "unnecessary" xp in runecrafting. Care to explain yourself? Don't say that its because you made runes for "gp", something that isn't even real ;)

200M in all Skills
Well...let's not go there. Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness lied to you. I agree. There is a big difference between being a billionaire and having 200m in all Runescape skills. See it how the majority of the world see's it, and not only the RS community. Okay, so you got 200m exp in all skills. Most people wouldn't think twice about calling you a loser at life. You make $1.000.000.000, very few would considerl calling you a loser, and those who do, are the ones you pwned on your way to becoming a successful businessman. So were all counting down the minutes to whenever (player name) gets to be called a loser at life? Sort of ironic how this topic...well. Exists. Re-read my post. This time make an attempt at understanding it.

Jagex's new bot punishment: Level resetting
XxCavalierxX was the TIFer you are (likely) referring to. An update in May 2002 banned around 3k players for botting with a very popular program; Cavalier's defense was he just used the program for one day to see how players moved while using the program so he could report offenders to Jagex. IIRC he had 99 cooking and some other cool stats, yet he got wiped completely. Was a real bad day for Cav. Those who knew him know that he wasn't a botter. For example when he was levelling 99 cooking you could always chat with him by edgeville bank. He had a nice Runescape website etc.. Of course in retrospect it was a bad idea to use the bot, even to see how the bot worked. Never doubted he used bots to get to where he did. I'm sure if he wasn't stat reset he would still be a big figure in the game now in 2010, no doubt! But yeah lots of people got reset a long time ago so its not really a new strategy Jagex are using. They just don't want to lose customers I guess.

Is RuneScape filling a void?
If by "void" you mean time, and by "fill" you mean kill, than yes. Runescape is filling (killing) void (time) for me.
