  1. Given the community population and the general wild behaviour of many users I think the administration is doing a great job. With that said I have an idea that might and might not improve the general experience for the common user on tip.it. I think the moderators and administrators need a new rank that only 1 person can hold. Like super administrator. And that person will have the final say in all things if need be, ending all conflicts and discussions. Since tip.it is in a sense a dictatorship, where the rules are dictated by the users with the powers vested in them to uphold, I feel we should bring the dictatorship to the next level and have 1 person who dictates everything. This person would of course have to be wise beyond godlike, fair, have a good sense of humor and have good looks (it's hard to be mad at a person with dashing good looks). I also strongly feel that this idea would only work if the person was me.
  2. Meili u seem mad. come on RS and give me stuff. I know that always cheers u up :^_^:
  3. Although I think "you", (you being the people intent on telling everybody here that you are splitting) should know that there are different ways to go about it. As mentioned before, there have been countless instances of disgruntled high profile players, much more high profile than the ones in this current conflict, leaving. However, they did not get people to 1. Spam the forums with pornography. 2. Attempt to undermine the standing leadership. 3. Jump at any chance to advertise for their new community. This is what I have seen in numerous posts in the past hours I have spent catching up to the current situation which leaves me with little to no respect for these people. PM'ing mates and other people who obviously agree with onesselfs visions should suffice. The self-importance certain people feel for themselves is the only reason they feel that loudmouthing on this forum is justified.
  4. He's still the same person that put hours and hours into the guide. His reasons may not be very good, but that doesn't mean TIF has to reject his request on reasons just as bad. And now, following the removal from the forums, it should be clear to everybody that said person did it for personal gain and internet glory. Seeing as said person can't stand having the guide on a forum where said person no longer is allowed access. I see no reason to have the guide removed. Edit: Although I now just read that it has been, my point still stands.
  5. I just find it a shame that I missed out on the (potentially good) porn.
  6. Look, its so obvious that the person in question's only reason to have it removed is to milk every last drop from this conflict as possible. Somebody needs to grow up and get on with their life. I'm not naming names, just like OP isn't, maybe you can figure out who that "somebody" is now. Speaking of morals. I find it morally disgusting that "somebody" wants their guide removed solely because they themselves got removed from the forums, for reasons obvious. The horse is dead, attempting to revive it in the form of this thread is stupidity. Move along now. I mean that in all senses of the sentence.
  7. Omar, dude. You need to post more in General Discussion.
  8. lol the capitalized words really worked against you in this instance. now I'm convinced that you cheat scam and bot all at the same time
  9. Neither have I. I really need to read more about this situation since this is the first thread I've read in the past week or two and only because it was on the top of the threadlist :P But yes, I don't recall an admin like tripsis - or yourself for that matter ever posting and publicly admitting to failure, so that action speaks alot in itself. At least it should to any user without a biased opinion. Now I need to go find out how you messed up lolz.
  10. This wouldn't be the first time that some disgruntled members "seperated" from tip.it to form a new community. Actually, this wouldn't even be the tenth time. I haven't been here for a number of days and I came back this morning and just realised that we are going through another, yes another one of these phases, lol. With that I mean a purging of moderators - and a migration of users who have found their ego's and bloated heads too big for even tip.it, hoping to attract supporters and fans over to another website which will be "more free" etc etc and what have you. As time goes by, some users feel that they are above the rules as they get (too) familiar with the forums. Maybe some moderators have handled situations incorrectly. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and I've seen an abundance of asshats posting lately  It's not fun being a mod as some people may think. Its a voluntary job. I'll have to read some more posts to give my full opinion though, since moderators can be just as bad as users, sometimes worse. Also remember one last thing. Since I know that the banned users are most likely reading these forums still. Just know that bans on tip.it are very VERY rarely permanent. I was banned for over a year once and whaddaya know ? ... Still here. So chill out, it's not the end of the world - or the internet.
  11. The price of p hats will forever continue as so > -1 in price drop, +3 in price rise. Rinse and repeat. Add whichever amount of zeros behind the numeral as you wish.
  12. I would say it is ethically wrong. I would morally have no problem with botting, but my good gaming ethic has always kept me from doing so.
  13. But why were u crafting sapphire bracelets?
  14. I am capable of seperating how I act and what I do in a computer game with how I act in real life. Therefore, I find it rather silly to read, that moral inequity in a game automatically makes me a person of lesser moral in real life. Your comparison actually says more about you, OP, than anybody. Did you also forget the part where people use various computer games, forums etc as means of venting? In other words, if somebody spends 8-10 hours a day forcing themselves to be polite, courteous and helpful whilst doing their job, it might help them if they play Runescape to NOT be the same person they are IRL. Thinking, you're doing it wrong. And to adresse the topic of botting and comparing it to the current real life situation - wtf? Botting is just humans when they are best - attempting to attain maximum gain at minimal expense. I seriously LOL whenever someone tries to draw a parallel between anything in Runescape to a current global/national/economic situation.
  15. I don't see scythes nor bunny ears being at 5-10b or even 1b or even 100 mil. Seeing as you can drop them and regain them at Thessalia in varrock for free. I've high alched both in the past. I'd say 10 mil for bunny ears, tops, and 20 mil for scythe, simply because it looks cooler to the average Runescape player. (Oooh look at me, I'm the grim reaper...)
  16. FooK-A-Ji replied to Grogthurk's topic in Rants
Hi. I have nothing constructive to add in this debate. Just came here to say that you can't use the term "inb4" in the original post, hahaha.
  17. So what you are basically saying is that OP has bigger balls than you will ever have. Who fails now? Rants forum is used to vent frustration in all shapes and forms, be it over the game, other players or oneself. ... Oh yeah, and you keep a diary, double-fail.
  18. Buncha wiseguys in this thread.
  19. its "lady heinous" FM stopped hosting when she got sick of people coming in just to start drama.
  20. I'm fairly sure you can, as they provide a service to you in America, in the same way that you could sue Volkswagen if your car blew up in America. Obviously this is a stupid reason to sue Jagex, but if you could make a case against them you could take them to court. No you can't. I think everybody should read the post #16 written by Marco before posting any more about lawsuits. I did read it. I'm not saying you could take jagex to court over this, I'm just saying if you had a legitimate reason to do so, you could. Yes, you could. But not in the United States.
  21. Do you know if the bots can approximate the shape of the objects using just the ID's? Would be curious about this. It's not necessary and I doubt somewhat that any modern bot producer would take the time and effort to do this hehe. The technique would be similar to color recognition of which you spoke of earlier, rather outdated. Bots run off script and RS is written in script. So in a sense, all items in the game have no "real shape". Just an ID. The bot script doesn't differentiate between how objects appear, as the bot does not have "eyes" like we, the players have eyes. It "see's" only numbers. Hope it helps. Of course there are assistent programs that can recognize shapes which were commonly used together with RSC bots to get around the sleeping bag. I can't remember the name of the program , Leoric or something like that. But even that program had flaws and is now outdated. But I rather fancy the idea you mentioned, the bad part is just that the idea is simple, making it simple for bot scripters to get around. Bear in mind that the most commonly used bots are written by scripters which barely even play RS. They script merely for the pleasure of it and in a highly professional fashion as well. They aren't beginners. Beginners download an already made script and customize it by filling in the blank spaces and replacing a few numbers and words to customize their bot for the job. Among the scripters are excellent mathematicians and thinkers and I feel that the RS population as a whole underestimate the real people behind the bots. They aren't kids. The people using them however tend to be. I remember a bot forum where if you openly botted you got banned from the website and weren't allowed to use the scripts shared there. This other programmer ripped off thousands of accounts because he implemented code in his core script which sent the usernames and passwords back to him. I lol'd real hard when it got discovered and lots of posts on TIP.IT were about getting hacked right about the same time the programmer pulled off his little job haha.
  22. Xie is bringing constructive input to this debate, so I fail to see where he is trolling and I disregard the notion that he is trolling other threads as that has no direct impact on what he is contributing in this thread. I know that I myself am trolling alot of rant threads in the rants section simply because of the immense stupidity flourishing in said section of the forums, but that doesn't make me a troll in all threads does it? P.S. It would make it easier for readers if you wrote who you are addressing in your post, seeing as the first part is directed at me, but the last section is obviously addressing somebody else.
  23. All items have a set ID. I.E. pot: 1 unfired pot: 2 man (level 9): 3 blue party hat: 445 red party hat: 446 etc etc. A bot scans the immediate area for the ID number of which it has been ordered to search and interact with, therefore if you set your bot program to attack "Man level 9", you order the program to attack ID number 3. The program will than scan the immediate area for ID number 3 and if there are any corresponding ID's nearby it will interact and in this case attack the ID number (Man level 9). In fact it is possible to run a bot program without even seeing the Runescape game interface, because most advanced bot programs run rely on ID numbers and see the game as letters and numbers (code). Just like in the movie The Matrix where the green numbers and letters fly past you.
  24. Cowboy14 your arguement for Xie, the new poster, being a botter is as weak as they come. Am I really going to be the first person on tip.it to openly say that I have usernames on numerous botting sites? And I don't even play the game, in fact I haven't levelled a single skill in 2-3 years. People who know me know that I don't play for levels or money as well. That doesn't stop me from having an extensive knowledge of bots on RS, botters and the mechanics behind botting. The part where you think he made a username here to counter-argue because he "got nervous" is just absurd. Why don't you come off it.
