The problem is, everyone says that. Nope. I'm a nerd, a geek, a braniac, poindexter, and even a level 4 Sorcerer. And I play RS. But the reason why RS has such a negative stigma even, or should I say especially, in the gaming community is for a variety of reasons. 1. Jagex advertises that this game is for everybody regardless of age. Look at the fascist censor, for example. This leads to people believing that this is a kids game. 2. The amount of grinding contained within. Every MMORPG and almost every RPG has some grinding. But Runescape holds the title for grindiest game of the year for seven years running. 3. The graphics. Oh, I know about the huge update and I admit that Runescape has never looked better. But compared to other modern games? Not so good. And anyone who doesn't play won't know that the graphics have improved. 4. The leveling system. As others have said, the leveling system requires no skill or talent. Just clicking. Click, click, click. 5. Combat. Runescape has one of the worst combat systems I've ever seen. Everything is about preparation and what you bring. Experience and "skill" have minimal jurisdiction. 6. Customer Support, or the lack thereof. Jagex provides us with customer support only slightly better than the IRS and slightly worse than a group of trained chimpanzees. 7. The maturity. Need I go further? And 8., the lack of a free, player governed, market. This may not matter to a lot of people, but to us poindexters, it means a lot. And that is why RS has a negative stereotype. I still don't think its the worst game as far as grinding goes. My friend who plays WoW has 2 characters maxed out, and he complains of them making it too easy nowadays, the only time I ever see him on (I use xfire pretty handy if you play online games like CoD or something) is a couple times a week to raid. Graphics wise I agree but what do you expect playing a Java game? Well, I've never seen or heard of a game that takes as long to max out as Runescape. Not even Disgaea, where the characters could become a level 9999. If you know of any games that do, then show me and I'll gladly withdraw the statement. The graphics, though excellent for Java, are still poor. To the average gamer, it doesn't matter how great the graphics are in comparison to the norm for that software, what matters is how it stacks up compared to other games. Play silkroad, its soley combat/trader based and I know a guy that has played 2 years of it and still hasn't maxed out. The only time efficient way to level up is to power level in a party.

Rarex developed a thread very similiar to this and then a few days after that someone started the same dang thread. I'm not going to bother to look for them, but from my understanding Rarex found the D plate, but I haven't seen the music cape yet.

Again you're assuming too much. I don't recall saying I would be un able to cope with it. But let me ask you this. Would you rather announce to people that you play runescape, and have your friends poke fun at you, or would you rather just not tell anybody, and not have your friends poke fun at you? The answer seems blatently obvious to me. Nobody said anything about annoucing. I know I don't expect you, me, or anyone else to get on top a desk and shout "I play RuneScape!", but if someone asks you if you do play RuneScape, why wouldn't you say yes? Ok, I get what you're saying. But the only reasons I see why people would ask me would be if they either play them selves, in which case I certainly would not deny it, or if the person already knows, in which case there is no point in denying it. Also, when I say announce, I don't mean standing up on top of a desk and shouting it too the world. What I do mean is if I'm near people having a conversation about the game, I'm not going to jump in and join the conversation, or make any indication that I play. FFS leave him alone, you guys need to reread what he wrote, although I will agree it was worded poorly. But a quick translation for you guys. Basically what he said is he friends would give him hell for a day or so not that they are going to totally abandon him and treat him as an outcast. I don't about you guys, but I have friends exactly like that and I do that to them as well. I don't see where he is insecure or anything, this thread has developed more about peoples opinions than anything so respect them and don't be a jerk behind the keyboard whether it be someone who likes playing runescape or one who likes killing time around town. If you have fun doing either then I don't see what is the problem.

No one will pk if the rewards are that small. 1/10 of the gear you pk as the reward? Thats WAY to much risk vs. reward.

I agree with you I think they will find a way to exploit it some way. But Jagex will fix it quickly even if it means nerfing it, but time will tell. It really depends upon what the drop table will be like. What are you going to get if you kill a high lvl skiller with a rune axe?

GP really fuels everything, I don't ever see it being abandoned. But I do see junk trading becoming more and more popular and Jagex will halt it somehow. Hopefully they will fix the GE someday. :roll:

I'm sorry but I never see that happening. Funny clans now are gangs controlling their turf lol. But I agree there won't be clans ruling certain worlds until a certain I imagine, what clan is going to sit there all day? I might look into skilling in PVP, but it will have to be very safe for me. (Got Dh top and bottom and a dscimmy and inventory and a mess of randoms)

I've killed Tzhaar with a buddy, and your stats aren't any better (If at all than mine), and they aren't easy for me, so I'm pretty confident you're full of it for just 1 1/2. We went at for quite awhile got 1 cape, sword, and I think one more (Mace maybe). But you are just unlucky for after 500 kills and one obby drop. And alphakodes I'm sure the list is huge and you could safely call it "random", but if you would like to prove us all wrong let me see you come up with the pattern. :P :lol: Whats up with all the z0mg Jagex nerfed it here lately? Well it is called an MMORPG. Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. So it is like the Final Fantasy games. You're a guy but play a girl character (z0mg). Also think about the girl's side of view. 90% of RPGs' playable characters are male. :lol: Absoultly true. I find it depressing when people say RuneScape or whatever MMO is their "little secret". I'm not saying to reveal it out to the world when it doesn't care, but to hide it under a sheet at call costs is ridicilious.(SP) Well if you hang around people who don't play the game but know about it, you will find that they often say things like "That guy plays runescape? Wow. What a total nerd. That game sucks [wagon]." So therefore, if you said you played runescape, it would be reasonable to assume that people would think you're a total nerd. Look I'm not saying to bring up RuneScape in every conversation, but to flat out deny that you don't play because you're scared they're going to call you a nerd is moronic. Besides, if those people are THAT ignorant, then why are you even hanging out with them? Unless you're ignorant yourself on other things... Because that's the way it works. I've just recently come back from quitting (Probably never would have it hadn't been from a huge *** grounding), but anyway if anyone were ask me today I would lie. I think you gave the example of weightlifting (Which I hate weight training, only time I do it is during basketball season (Which is 2/3 counting offseason tbh)), well that does help you physically, what does runescape give back to you? It's just fun, and if you don't enjoy it then you need to quit. And for the person who was saying it wasn't masculine, I have to agree with them. If I were to ask a girl what she did in her spare time and she said WoW or RS (Which I did have a girlfriend who picked up WoW, and she pretty much got sucked into the game, but that whole mess was going nowhere fast anyway.) I would think hmmm. But I wouldn't think less of that person or insult them for it, nor would I insult anyone else for playing a game for fun. But that's the way I feel about it.

But if you have used a credit card on that account, and you know the past passwords you will be on your way to getting sweet sweet revenge. :thumbsup: (Hope this works for you, this guy sounds like a jerk) Anyway, I got hacked once lost about 8-10mil (In items and cash mostly runes when bloods were very high). Me and my friend shared account passwords to help transfer pk'ing items for our pures. (The good ole days of rs :cry: ) Anyway he had all of our accounts written down on paper, I told him to get rid of it but I guess he never did. Anyway I get on my account after recovering and pretty much anything of value had been cleaned out, my runes,seeds, and herb stockpile (Tons of money in unids). Only thing of value left was my DH glad he didn't repair it and get rid of it. Here I am got about maybe 7mil in cash and items now and am wc'ing my butt off when I am playing. Moral of the story: never tell anyone your password. Also get off the guys back, this could server as a good topic for others who haven't yet been hacked, and hopefully the solution to this guys problem.

Nice read. Most people whoothers are most of the time doing it for the above reason. However, Runescape has a stupid "honor code" which everybody must follow or they are "noobs." Some are perfectly reasonable, such as praying melee at Friendly duel arena. Who doesn't like high hits and fast duels? However, sometimes it gets pointless, redundent, and useless. For example, at bounty hunter the same rule applies for Friendly duel arena. Which is stupid, as money is on the line. All in all, pures make these honor codes. (Most pures are little arrogant kids. Not stereotyping, but looking at the general population...) But for whatever reason, all players follow this "honor code." Hmm... In conclusion, I would like to say that people of Runescape or stupid idiotic morons. It's best just to ignore them, or just laugh at them for their arrogance. Eh. People are stupid. No kidding I remember wildy pk'ing like it was yesterday. You prayer noob, go by the honor code. I'm sorry but if I have 58 prayer levels invested into my combat lvl, its going to use. Most of the prayer whiners were the pures because it gave more time for you to beat away at that 1 def. Though Str bonus pures with 40 range (Basically mage killers, could hit hella high if you got that bonus,good str, str pot, and a 2h working together). Most of all just ignore the people that try to tell you what to do. Like someone said above I try to just laugh about their arrogance and stupidity and go about my business.

Pretty much what was happening when the Yew tree was an endangered species on RS, just a different game. You can't help but feel sorry for the people who lost their job after Jagex did the update, they are just trying to make a living the best the can. Though the owner needs to be punished in some way, they are just going to continue doing stuff like this by going from game to game.

The more flamed something is the better or more efficient it is. People try to flame someone elses skills to compensate for what they are lacking. They flame methods because they can't do it. They flame items because they can't afford them. All in all most of the flamers are jerks who are jealous.

I don't believe there is anyway to dupe items at the moment. If there was there would be more than a few coming in. It would be like it was in RSC and people would be basically manufacturing them and all the rares would be crashing. So either post it here or pm me, because I'm pretty sure it can't be done.

Sirgudi nothing is being directed at you I read the whole damn thread. (I'm sorry but I believe you to be one of them) It has just inevitably brought pk'ing crybabies. And Homo88, when people (Unlike your macroing self) have to work for their items it isn't to fun to sell all that gp go down the drain. So your idea is still flawed. But one last thing. If you are looking for PvP why the hell are you playing runescape? Runescapes PvP is horrible now (Cwars is the only exception, and there you get no loot just tickets). Go play WoW, SRO (SilkRoad), or something else. Those games are rampant with gold farmers. (Friend I play CoD (Call of Duty) with said a gold site hacked wow and glitched the game and began to advertise with the glitch.) Jagex removed gold farmers entirely at the price of RS now having the worst PvP among MMORPG IMO. Wildy and RS PvP as it was is gone, move on or go play something else.

Yup, correct. The max hit is 30, but who would have 99 str + potion + 15% str at med crater bh? and not talking bout using rune scim... and then u can use full rune + protection prayer.... + full inventory of anchovy pizzas... and if really needed get a friend to protect you.... OMG TRANSFERRING THRU BH IS SOOO HARD! Derrick, the solution is: Wilderness without getting the loot. I've been saying it ever since 10th December. RSOF fails btw. Oh and one of my friends got banned transferring thru Bounty Hunter. He lost an awesome acc. :/ No loot? Wtf would be the point in that? Big [wagon] risk for no reward? Any ideas on how I can get to 40-50 quickly? I can only bank pure ess (Stupid f2p bank space, didn't prep my bank before I lost members), but I saw someone say something about crafting tiaras and I might go and do that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :D

God some of you pk'ing guys are idiots. For Sirgudi. He is right the wildy is gone and it isn't coming back and never will. They aren't going to lose money like that again. I honestly don't see them replacing BH either tbh with you. And Fairness, you are probably one of those losers who wants to be able to buy their stats with real money, but I'm just too narrow minded and naive to see that. And why the hell wouldn't the same gold farmers steal the credit card numbers where they can increase production in members? Were you born a d**k macroer or did you have to work at it? As for RWT'ing they've done the best they can. The problem wasn't the macroers it was the Chinese players gathering raw materials like mad. I believe RWT'ing is pretty much stumped at the moment. As for BH a way of exchanging money, it's going to be a hell of a mess and what if someone wtfpwns them? They have done the best they can. And sorry people the wildy will never be back. But I do agree they need to find something to replace BH.
