  1. Haha, I had that moment of realisation to when I hit 2411 total. Was a late night and I'd just finished Livid Farm for good, so was thinking to myself, "Right, that's all the special requirements out of the way, now to just finish of these 85 skill levels." Looked over my remaining skills, threw in XP required and per hour, and came up with the following on my notepad: 16/10/2011 Woodcutting : 90k/hr, 83 hrs Fishing : 60k/hr, 108 hrs Firemaking : Innate, 0 hrs Smithing : 300k/hr, 11 hrs Mining : 80k/hr, 117 hrs Agility : 65k/hr, 103 hrs Thieving : 250k/hr, 22 hrs Slayer : 40k/hr, 140 hrs Farming : Innate, 0 hrs (negligible) Runecrafting : 50k/hr, 138 hrs Hunter : 250k/hr, 34 hrs Construction : 300k/hr, 25 hrs ~781 hrs left to Comp Cape Kinda went WTF at this point, because that huge number at the bottom was so daunting. Still started straight away though, and after a while of training with a skill you get better at it and your expected XP rate kind of adjusts. I modified my calculations much later to 100k/hr with C2 fishing and got rid of the RC requirement completely because I effigy'd the whole thing (Runespan is double my rate anyway). Construction went swimmingly and I somehow managed to hit 400k+/h with oak doors of all things. Only major change was switching to Ivy so I could do my readings, and then Jadinko firemaking for the last WC and FM xp. The only major difficulty is having the motivation to keep going, and after a while of playing with the skills you kind of get used to them and actually have fun trying to beat your XP rate. I think towards the end I was getting close to 300k/h on draconics and it was actually quite fun trying to squeeze out catches and juju potion timer, applying it at literally the last second to waste less time :P I just updated the notepad every few weeks/ once a month to keep myself motivated, and one day I was finally able to write: 24/4/2012 Fishing : Awaiting effigy Mining : Awaiting effigy Agility : Awaiting effigy Runecrafting : Awaiting effigy Hunter : Awaiting effigy So just keep at it, but remember at the end of the day, it's just a game and not your job!
  2. No I was typing that response to the Mod Mark song and then you ninja'd
  3. Damn you mean I haven't been playing Runescape for the last 6 weeks????? JAGEX HOW COULD YOU SCAM ME LIKE THIS
  4. Seriously wondering how many people play this game without a scroll mouse :P
  5. wtf wrong rare man, wrong rare ffs!!!!
  6. 999 has explained this to death mostly: rich people would switch to buying rares and keep off other items like prestige gear (robin, infinity, whip etc) or resources, which would make them cheaper for the average player.
  7. No, he was decapitated for a display, after which his disembodied head broke free and continues to forum with us by typing with its teeth.
  8. To skip over all of that, they have listed 9 options in the OSRS devblog about possible re-introduction options, which will be presented in a poll next week. Of these options, it appears that some would result in discontinuation of the items, whereas some would not. The discontinuation of rares would appear then to be the subject of the next poll.
  9. Jagex has washed their hands of that responsibility by saying "it's what the community wants" :P
  10. Eh, I remember seeing Whitemagem while dging in 2011. Guy was always cooking fish though ;p
  11. @ The Duel Arena rework, wonder if they're going to get rid of Mubariz :(
  12. As pointless as adding free XP to every minor action (later in April), or as pointless as allowing you to split Arctic pine logs for extra XP? Sounds just up Jagex's alley, more free XP for everyone! How would you verify that the fish you're releasing are still alive, though?
  13. The numbers I've used are pretty accepted, and in most cases I have required the average number of games to get my hybrid parts, except for in the case of PC where I was particularly unlucky. You can't get 100% win rate on CW, SW and FoG, and the usual payment method for Pits is losing an equal amount of games. It works out to twice the time required, same as for the current CW req which is hard to get 100% wins as well. Pretty much as Quyneax said. Also @ lio, you can be assured, by golly, that if people can boost, they will boost. Or are you not aware of the 19 games/hour quickhop method which most of the top 50 trimmers used, or the FOG boosting fc that regularly runs on the HLF, or the brand new CW boosting FC that is non-stop two tickets per game?
  14. I think only Vampyrism is worth sinking your teeth into, Cruelty has been patched so it doesn't have that malicious bite any more.
  15. Speak of the devil, I just got 53 Hunter myself :P
  16. Just running my own time numbers. 80 CW wins for 3 helms (22 min ea, boosting): 29.33 hours 600 PC wins for 3 boots (2 min ea): 20 hours 140 FOG wins for 3 gloves (2 min ea, boosting): 4.66 hours 125 SW wins for 3 leggings (23 min ea, clan): 47.91 hours 300 Pit wins for 3 bodies (1 min ea, boosting): 5 hours 106.91 hours, which is like 13% of the current 2200 CW wins requirement (806.66 hours)
  17. I was thinking that it was related to an engine update that caused people to be able to "multi-skill" as a side effect (e.g. fletching bows whilst continuing to cut a tree, or dropping fish without it interrupting the fishing action at all). This was later patched though. But if it's related to the alching queue, that'd definitely make barb fishing more efficient :P I also noted the run not draining whilst alching thing, but this functionality will probably be lost if the alching queue is added.
  18. Every time I got my hands on a new piece of gear (Sara Strike, ancient magics, white mystic, verac, granite maul, whip ... the list goes on and on lol) the first place I'd go to play with them would have been Castle Wars. Something about the PVP environment there kept drawing my 2005 self back for more. Of course the players of the minigame just dwindled over time until it reached its sorry state now >_>
  19. Will the alch queue remove the delay from skilling actions?
  20. Totems and icons don't give score.
