  1. Because you are clearly trying to bait people into flaming you betting that you will be more studied then they are so you can try to justify your ego by winning a debate on the internet perchance?
  2. Why did you compare atheists to scientologists? There are plenty of interesting theories on the afterlife; a few which are quite better then the christian model in my opinion. How can you consider hell to exist? Why would someone face eternal damnation for a finite amount of evil acts? Eternal suffering is a pretty big incentive not to be bad, isn't it? Just as eternal happiness is a good incentive to be a good person. [/hide] That sounds nice initially, but would you suggest we execute shoplifters? Logically extending it, your saying infinite punishment is appropriate for a finite crime. In my opinion, I seriously doubt that a one time shoplifter will be condemned to hell and suffer for eternity. In contrast, I do believe a convicted serial killer can make up for his mistakes, however large they may be, and not be condemned to hell. Here is the reasoning that leads me to believe in a God: Using science, we know of the Law of Conservation of Matter. Pretty much, something can not come from nothing, and something can not turn into nothing. Therefore, something must have come from something. If there were no superbeing of the type, where could this something we call the universe have come from? Personally, I do believe there is evil. Ever seen The Excorcist. :ohnoes: For yang there is a yin, for evil there is divinity. Either someone can be damned to hell for eternity or not, the possibility of some people being forgiven isnt what Im talking about. You either have to accept that hell is an illogical construct or admit that your god punishes people forever for an amount of crimes that were less then infinite in their scope. As to the Conservation of Matter piece a. infinite series of big bangs and big crunches b. then where did god come from? c. you cant use science to justify the existence of a being who is inherently excluded from observation.
  3. So Recently I have been hearing about how GOP is a great money making method and I just have one question on that How exactly do you get money from GOP? Do you save up tokens and buy essence or is there some other item that makes better money?
  4. I find that actually quite unlikely; we have an understanding that full nuclear war would wipe us all out. Secondly, we have a conventional arsenal capable of flattening almost any country that we consider a nuclear threat. Finally, what incentive do we have to unleash nuclear hell when we have the better army anyway?

  11. can't he mine runite on a pvp world? no worrying about revvy's there! theres a req of like 20 combat to go on pvp worlds
  12. As I have said before; the choice of targets and the fact a second bomb was dropped are debatable points, but the need to drop an atomic bomb to save lives and prevent the need for invasion was a good decision.
  13. Revolvers are a good choice as a sidearm; and if we could find a good 8 round model they would be ideal for all close quarter situations. With just 6 bullets the main risk is running out with a zombie left, but if you are fighting more then 6 zombies in close quarter with no way to run its reasonable to assume nothing is going to save you.
  14. God would exist outside logical boundaries. Can the universe be described this way though? Very true, but I am speaking to the general existence of a god being; not a creator. It is an interesting line of thinking, but its also interesting to consider the universe may have been created by an illogical process.
  15. One word: Evolution. I refuse to even begin considering that a word written in the Bible has any degree of truth behind it, nor can I believe that there's some form of higher being. And if I'm wrong, I'll gladly burn in hell for not believing, I don't give a [cabbage]. Well evolution had to start somewhere. (GOD) Heh, this concept keeps cropping up and being rehashed every five pages or so. I'll pose a simple question: If God created the Universe, then who or what created God? Your answer will probably be something along the lines of "God has always existed." In turn, I can just as easily suggest that it is the Universe which has always existed in a cyclic model of renewal through an infinite series of Big Bangs and Big Crunches--and, furthermore, Occam's razor would seem to support me in this. Before you continue, I'd suggest you read through these pages to gain a better understanding of the argument: Causality Infinite Regression (Turtles) Someone else mentioned the infinite big bang big crunch series :D I could reiterate what was said in that post but basically what he said. If the Universe can not have a beginning then why can you cite a being that didnt have a beginning?
  16. [/hide] Thats the best way of defining god I have ever been able to come up with. When you consider things such as a god who only has the power of a 9v battery per hour or a god that isnt a perfect being so he limits his actions a lot of definitions such as "an all powerful supernatural being" break down. Does that definition leave you with some ghosts being gods, if ghosts exist and some prefer to be unobserved? In a way, I guess it would. The two main things that make this hold up well is that it allows for an expansion/consideration if we start finding things that violate logical observation. If we find ghosts it makes a logical case for a higher concious in charge so to speak. The best thing to this definition is its inclusivity; "god" can be almost anything under this definition, leaving us to debate his existence instead of his wording.
  17. [hide=] I always went with; "an intelligence of any sort which exists outside of observable/logical boundaries, the abilities/nature of said being not relevant to whether it would be considered god" Nice. If the question is whether or not such a thing exists, my answer is "Possibly." [/hide] Thats the best way of defining god I have ever been able to come up with. 18. Offtopic in Offtopic, coincidence? Irony?! Back Ontopic: Hmmm, what if we just.... live on the moon and blow up the earth of all zombies? Just an idea. Without the earth, the moon would go flying off into either another planet's orbit, the sun, or into the vastness of space. While another planet would seem survivable, I doubt we can build a colony capable of surviving space on short notice.

  20. Through the natural evolution from primative organisms billions of years ago; who were born most probably out of the chemical mixture of earth's ancient sea. The earth being created from the remnents of a primitive star which was created probably by another primitive star; the first of these primitive stars resulting from the big bang.
  21. If we are going to use white magic we should probably just stick to cure/curaga. Learning to control it is going to lend an immediate benefit from a first aid perspective, and a well aimed cura to the face is probably going to be sufficient to destroy a zombie.
  22. [hide=] HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA- WRONG. There are several factors and saying that is just stupid, you cannot generalise why over 1billion people believe in something. The fact is that they may be driven by several things- money, greed, power or hey even maybe the ocassional person wants to live a better life. So I've just unrolled your entire arguement at the root. Then there're the other 5billion people on the planet, maybe about another 4.5billion of them also follow religion? But here's the fact of the matter- IMO, and I cannot stress that enough,- ALL RELIGIONS ARE WRONG. They';re merely a form of control in order to fight. Because we're human, and we like to fight :) Although some of the mdo have some bloody good ideals- at the end of the day they cannot explain God. Now, this is why personally I believe in God. the Golden Ratio shows a consistent pattern throughout the universe. If there was nothing but chaos then there would be no grounds for this argument. However there is seemingly method in every form of madness, mostly the Golden Ratio. It's found EVERYWHERE. It links EVERYTHING, one subject to another, no matter how diverse. It's something we're not even conscious of anymore. Ity kind of just appears. Now call me perceptive, but if everything is linked in such a manner then maybe this Golden Ratio is "God's signature" if you like. :) Just a thought. But hey, let' be honest. You live then you die, what happens in between is immaterial, don't live to another person's set of values, live to your own. [/hide] If your going to quote someone, you shouldnt break the quote down to the point it loses context. Tortoises post was very well thought out and in interesting view of why many religions have a big problem with evolution by natural selection. Your explanation of why people keep their beliefs was horribly topical and simplistic, completely ignorning the subtle aspects of faith. Yes, all religions are most likely wrong. Actually, a large amount of your golden ratio stuff is going to fall under the anthropic principle; but I dont have the sources available to show you.
  23. Humidifying vials using a steam staff makes money and is apparently decent magic experience.
  24. You need to have unlocked the ability to use them from MTA On topic, there are a few half decent guides in the AOW/General guides that i recommend you look at. This link is the best. Within 1 minute of searching you should have the answer to all your questions. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=aviansies You dont need the ability unlocked to use the tabs.
