Formula that was wrong I was working on developing a formula to add any sequence of integers starting with anything look up Gauss on wiki or whatever to see the general idea I was trying to expand on my first 3 or so formulas only worked in limited circumstances so they were wrong.

I'd still like to know why god created humanity, since his infinite power guarentees he knew how it would turn out. Id be willing to wager its possible to give a being free will and not have it turn out being disobediant. The logic that we were made with free will to make a choice only works if you assume god had to create the universe. Wouldnt it be better to have no universe, no pain, no suffering?

Just a little logic I think you should see if you believe that. a. christianity assumes god is infinetly powerful and can forsee everything that will happen ever b. christianity claims god created humanity therefore, god must have created humanity knowing exactly what would happen, which means he created humanity knowing we would "mess up". According to christianity, god flooded the entire earth wiping out the entire population -noah and family. Since god must have known he would have to do this, it proves he had some reason to want to. So now we know god created a flawed species that he knew he would have to constantly punish to keep in a decent virtuous state. If god created humanity knowing he would have to punish it he is a sadistic ruler that likes causing harm to his creations. Unless you want to admit he didnt forsee humans failing, in which case he is not an infinitly powerful being. Also, to further back up the claim god is either fallable or sadistic, if he can forsee everything why create lucifer? there wouldnt be a need for hell or punishment if humanity had not been made with such a critical flaw. oh and Im by no means an atheist, proud agnostic, and willing to accept that I could be wrong about there being a god.

Just thought I would quote to agree with. I think the point the other guy was trying to make was that there isnt a "black gene", but if you actually compared genetic maps of say 100 white people to 100 black people to 100 chinese to 100 mexicans etc. you could identify clear patterns of traits in the certain groups. Race is basically the accumulation of genetic differences in different groups, such as the tendency people of irish descent to have red hair people of african descent to have dark skin etc. edit--yes you can classify race by biology, clearly if someone is like 1/32 african its not going to be apparent but thats just a gray area of determing race. If someone of pure African descent is compared to someone whos ancestry is purely russian there is a clear racial difference.

Excatly, there are a lot more females in USA than black people so by that theory, the republicans would have won by a landslide. The theory that black people voted for him just for being black ignores that black people tend to vote democrat anyway. As many people voting for him just in order to elect a black man are equalled by the people who won't vote for him because he is black and because of the republican attempts to suggest he was somehow unamerican (which plays on people prejudices, thankfully McCain himself didn't do this but others did). I would point out some things here 90% or so of african americans vote democrat, a slight to decent majority of woman are also democrats. So clearly obama energizing black voters can have a greater effect then palin energizing woman. Second, Obama did win largely because he is an amazing orator creates hope etc. but to deny that him being black helped is innacurate, just as denying that his speaking skills were importnat would be innacurate.

My gf is 1/4th native but noone notices because she just looks tan so shes considered white. So basically Americans are vain lol

Time exists as a measurement of change. If it exists as a dimension is a totally different thing but since it is a means of measuring change in things such as chemical reactions it has to be real if only for the sake of measuring. For instance, the calorie is not a physical object but it can be measured.

I think MsNBC is horrible, my only intent was to say that fox has become less and less objective the more likely obama became to win. When they gave Sean Hannity his own show I decided Id just watch as little as possible, the man annoys me to death lol. I dont know which network is biased worse but I remember when fox was conservative leaning but clearly fair, and now they are about the most random garbage about obama and how it makes him bad. wherever it was said, I really hope Obama doesnt get shot because that would be one of the worst things to happen to this country relative only to 9/11 and pearl harbor in modern history.

America is moving socialist not communist, we were founded on capitalism so people would never except communism. The free healthcare and such will make people forget socialism doesnt equal capitalism. The one thing I really credit Obama for is not pushing radical left wing policy, and for probably loosening stem cell research restrictions. to the post a few above about news bias unfortunatly we dont have an unbiased media, and all networks besides fox are fairly liberal so if they are biased they favor Obama. If you watch the news a lot you will notice fox has become worse, they used to be decently fair but now its an anti obama monolog all day. edit--to barihawk, hmm didnt know that about davis, quite interesting. [hide=]The secession movement began as far back as the 1820's. Lincoln was simply the last straw for one state. Federal actions towards the secession motivated the rest of the Southern states. Magekllr, while he did amazing things under extraordinary circumstances, the same can be said for several presidents such as FDR and even *brace for impact* George W. Bush. He was a good President in that he provided the things that the Office is supposed to and he did it well. My only beef with Lincoln is his "legacy of abolition" that has been overplayed and overhyped by nationalistic intelligentsia over the past 150 years. His entire life has been rewritten to provide the trappings of abolitionism where it simply did not exist in his own lifetime. Like Washington and the cherry tree. So my own problem is not with Lincoln, per say, but the way "common history" has treated him. I also think it's ironic that the media dares call Pres-Elect Obama the manifestation of Lincoln's dream, because after reading Lincoln's diary it is fairly certain that he would not have supported a black president. I hope you have a chance to read that particular tome. His attitude toward blacks are dripping with "white man's burden" elements. But yeah, back on topic. Excited for the inauguration. Im going off of a college history class not the history channel just to clear that up. Though a movement toward secession began well before Lincoln, if Lincoln had not been elected the southern states would not have seceded in the short term and who knows how things could have played out. The difference between what Lincoln did and what Bush did is in the actual feat of pulling it off. Any number of politicians could have donen well after 9/11 and Im sure plenty could try to do a good thing and free people then procede to mess up a lot. Though the man was not perfect, Lincoln did set in motion the end to slavery and fully tried to preserve the nation he believed in. Under that kind of stress Bush would crumble miserably, as would most men. Lets just call it difference of opinions, I dont want to throw thread off topic.

Agreed, nothing is more annoying then people who backed obama because hes black or young just as nothing is more annoying then people who supported mccain for being white(Americans, as a rule, are pretty dumb politically)

At that time, the South probably would have been prepared to secede had Lincoln not won. There was enough tension, and the South had been waiting for an excuse for a generation.
