Just talking all old style. -_- Also, when it comes to the bible and Christianity, many things stated in the bible have been found true, and historically proven. Other items and artifacts have been found and dug up validating the bible. =P Thats because the bible has a large amount of historical data in it. Obviously, if I take a history book and occasionally imprint some morality story it doesnt make it the word of god. Also, find me evidence the whole world was flooded or that the earth was created in seven days. To the other bit thats up their, feeling something is wrong isnt religion its a moral compass created through evolution to prevent us from killing each other and thus helping the species(well trying to keep us from killing each other), its also a function of a very advanced brain. Things such as the feeling of looking at the stars do have their own religious feeling but to call them religion is a bit of a strech.

Oddly, Im also glad gitmo is closing. I hope they deal with it properly and just move the prisoners to military prisons in the US, while making sure they do get some form of trial and justice. Main reason I think closing it is a good idea is the bad reputation it has aquired, when something is making your country look bad it needs remedied in the appropriate manner(think, your hair makes you look bad you get it cut)

The problem is, he's not getting going with "smart choices". He is instead going to bring change in America. What that change is, we'll find out. Actually, thats something I like though for a different reason then most people(i think). One of the best qualities in a leader is to be frank (ballsiness), honestly most great leaders have been bold men. Great leaders are also reasonable and other important qualities of course, but the fact Obama is getting straight to work on doing something shows he will lead. I disagree with him on a lot of policy, but if he avoids doing anything I find wrong and not just disagreeable the fact he is willing to do what is needed will make his presidency turn out pretty well. Best example I can think of without thinking too much. Compare the civil war when Meclellen(spelling) was in charge to what happened when Grant was put in charge. One could disagree with Grant's tacticts that approached human wave attacks at times but the fact he would attack makes him the hero of the war.

Incompleteness does not equate to being false, such as how a building that is half built is considered to be the beginning of the final building. A scientific theory doesnt just appear, its based upon all of the scientific data we have available. Now when it was discovered that everything in the universe was moving apart, the thought "hey, maybe everything came from one point" would be a little dubious, but if all further data suggests that is accurate and nothing disproves it we must use that theory until a better explanation can be found. Darwin's research and book "On the Origin of Species" provided an alternative theory of human existance based off of his studies in the (spelling)galopagos islands. Initially, there was a lot of scientific debate about this theory; however, as more evidence supporting it was exposed(particulary dna in recent history) Darwin's theory gained almost entire support within scientific communities because: a. it explains most if not all phenomenon, b. there is not an opposing scientific theory that is more appropriate If anyone responds trying to say evolution is not accurate realize Im saying from a scientific stand point not religious, your personal beliefs dont affect what science supports as true.

christianity has done more harm then good for the world in a lot of aspects. See the crusades, the spanish inquisition, salem witchcraft trials, southern justification for slavery in the americas based off of the bible etc. Also, the big bang is all but proven, there are some tiny little things they cant work out like dark matter and energy but the basis of the theory that the universe expanded from one point in space is quite solid. Unless you wish to claim god faked all that evidence to test us of course, in which case were going to end up with a debate on the nature of god.

Im not referring to the printing of money as evil, the excess of printing is the problem. We have been pouring money into the economy to regain faith in the system. Every time we make a new stimulus it makes the government look desperate and makes people actually lose faith in both the government and the money, which leads to a drop in the markets and the need for more stimulus. One nice thing about Obama is that he actually makes people believe in him so its possible he could back stimuli and gain support that they would work. Im hoping the government can get the economy going, but Im fed up with them just throwing money into a fire and not trying to reduce spending. Obviously, if we are already in debt, we should be trying to reduce our expenditures everywhere that is not critical(I think some stimulus is a good idea, the point is where we arent trying to fix things with stimulus we should try to save money. Im not an expert at economics obviously, yet I dont think anyone would disagree trying to improve efficiency is good. edit--the reason that post was simple is because I was trying to sum it up in one line, hard to get very in depth with one sentence.

The claim was that believing in the easter bunny is just as logical as believing in god, that is not to say they are both equally true or untrue. The whole point of that analogy is to demonstrate that without empirical evidence a belief in any god is just as reasonable as a belief in an easter bunny because you cant factor faith into the logical state of something. Actually, the only logical claim for some kind of god I can think of is not believing the universe could be in an infinite cycle of big bangs and big crunches, or multiverses or whatever. wow I sound like an atheist lol.
