I think the loophole is to sell some type of token and then let players buy an item with said token. Players will technically be paying for the token with real currency, not the item itself. I suspect this is something we will see in the near future. Ahh. That's why gamestop is going to start selling J-Coin cards in the upcoming year. I really dislike how the investors use loopholes to justify everything...

@Steal of Fortune If Jagex were to start selling tradable items (E.G. GP, high-level items, etc, would the SoF really become gambling? I'm leaning towards yes, but I'm not sure. I feel it is gambling in the state it is in now, because you honestly don't win if you get a bucket or whatnot. At the same time, I do see why people feel it isn't gambling. This makes it sound like soon Jagex will be selling not only gold and items via SOF, but also accounts. I think they just took the old rules and added "on 3rd party websites" everywhere. Doesn't have to mean anything. Not that I would put it past Jagex though... They changed it a lot more than just adding "on 3rd party websites" everywhere.

You spent an hour on 75 spins? Were you watching tv and eating at the same time? One spin takes max 15 seconds (that's to click spin, get reward and claim it). At that, 75 would take around 20 minutes. I bought 150 spins I probably got another 50 free through playing. So thats 200. The wheel spins around for at least 10 seconds. Alch junk it throws in my bank, discard garbage, mess with lamps, thats another 20 at least. I did it, I know. You on the other hand just speculate and argue. Only speculation in my post was what you were doing while spinning. I was going by your previous post where you said you had bought 75 spins. You don't have to watch the wheel spin, you can skip it. I have spun the wheel myself.

^ Oh, and Jagex aren't actually able to sell rsgp or tradable items, as that would set a real world price on gp, which then makes SoF gambling. Expect to see exp-boosting items and untradable gear however.

I had no idea of this ever being the end. I know this is only the beginning. I linked that article because it's amusing how they lie about them only implementing microtransactions if the players like it.They have no intention of reversing this now, and I pray for the future of this game I've spent so much time on. Compared to others, I like to show that I care about what happens to Runescape. (This isn't directed at anyone specific, if anyone gets that idea.)

Did anyone see a Squeal of Fortune in the video? :P Pretty cool, but it reminds me more of 8Realms as they have advertisements that look just like that.

Well, Timbo did say: I never expected them to REMOVE the squeal of fortune, just nerf the experience lamps to the level of genie lamps or remove the RWT-aspect of it. Anything is better than keeping it the way it is now. This was earlier today as well. Spookie Pie was only forum banned and has since been unbanned as I saw him post later on a different thread.

Mod Mat K (poor guy) entered maxed this evening and said "More information will be made public once it is discussed." Obvious the corporates are trying to stall the confrontation for as long as possible.
